Omg!!! You've GOT to stop by this place! Cindy's Kitchen stocks them with fantastic bakery creations. I had the warm Cheese Biscuit for breakfast that was to die for! I forgot to take a photo prior to eating it but it's given me a new way to look at biscuit eating, that's for sure! I will update this as I continue to try the creations I bought but I've snagged some pics from the Facebook page of Cindy's Kitchen since they accurately depict what I saw in the gas station store!

Gas up, but don't you dare think about not going inside for possibly the best cake in your life. Kevin's may sell gas, but they are half bakery inside. I've been to this station a few times, but never went inside until tonight. On a tip from a non yelper that informed me that Cindy's Kitchen, a nearby restaurant and bakery sold goods out of here. I did not make a fuel purchase, but I sure did want to see their selection of cakes. Kevin's is right off the highway, best reference is beside and same side as Currituck BBQ which is awesome btw. The signage is good at the road, but lighting is somewhat dim at night. It's not a big fuel up location, but I found it clean. A sign reflects that they carry Cindy's and have their biscuits for breakfast too. The interior of the business is small. But they pack all the convenient store items in nicely. Including a full dedicated table and part of a refrigerated case to Cindy's Kitchen cakes. Surprisingly after Thanksgiving I would not have expected much selection, but I was wrong! My son was with me and we quickly choose a couple by the slice. They also sell whole cakes. The show for ingredients on the label, that's it! The employees were super cool and checkout a breeze. After arriving home my son dug into his Oreo and I opened the Carmel. Of course we had ice-cold milk at the ready. OMG!!! Incredibly delish and so fresh. The slices are large and a bargain for $2.85. There was not a crumb left on either one of our plates. Recommend a fuel up and a stop in for a scrumptious cake if in the area. Oh you will thank me.

I went to three Dunkin' Donuts and two other gas stations with convenience stores before I found Kevin's open

I went to the gas station, picked some up and went back to the house I was staying at. After opening the container, I realized that it was actually not the kind of coolant needed for my car (tip: I found what I needed for my particular vehicle at Food Lion). I decided to see if I could return it (knowing I may be turned down especially since it had been opened) but they were great! I even offered for them to just give me gas credit, but they gave me a full refund back on my credit card which was really nice, especially in a stressful situation where I was searching all over to find coolant for my car. Thank you! Much appreciated :)

Again, this is the last place that you can get gas, or maybe it is the first place depending on which way you approach this place. It kind of is in need of some dire remodel, maybe expand into the empty storefront next door and make the convenience part more convenient. I think it has been empty for some time and not getting any fuller at this point.

I have loved this store since 1984 when I could spend my allowance on penny candy!…read moreThe convenience of this little shop at the end of the road has been a lifesaver more than once in the last 40 years.

Back in the summer of 1996 I came to my beach house in Coralla North Carolina. I had finished high…read moreschool that year and my hair was still blond for a musical I had done in high school. Actually, I had dyed my hair blond not because of a musical play, but because I said I would be doing it after Christmas break for my senior year. I had taken a liking to the hair style of Wesley Snipes in the movie Demolition Man. My hair was in the same style and color as I saw in the movie. I was later told to change me hair color back to black because it wasn't natural for African American to do that sort of thing....this is a story in its self, but to make a long store short, several teachers, myself and my parents fought this stupid decision by some of the other higher up faculty members. So when I walked into the Winks store near the light house of Carolla North Carolina, I looked like a young black punk to some of the older women who worked there. I looked around but did not find anything I liked. I tried on some sunglasses, but found nothing I liked and put the glasses back where I found them. Then I walked over to the porno magazines to looked at some voluptuous naked women. Penthouse, Club and Hustler were three magazines I liked. They had voluptuous women in those magazines that playboy did not seem to offer... It was then that the ladies there spoke up and asked if I was 18 years if age. After seeing I was 18 years old they shut up or so I thought. One of the women called the police on me and told the cops that I was a shoplifter. The police offer greeted me as I was about to leave the store and found nothing on me. One of the ladies walked outside to the police officer holding pair sunglasses that I was supposedly trying to steal. The ladies tried to get me arrested and were pissed off about it when they failed. They told me to never come back to this store. At the time my mind did not notice that they were racially profiling me. The cop had to let me go, but came looking for me later on. The cop had nothing on me, but was trying to scare me and it did not work. Nevertheless, after looking at someone's profile on Yelp, I saw they had visited this store, but did not write a review. Seeing this store brought back this memory. I have been back to this store years later to see these two women, but they have either moved elsewhere or are dead. It was my first experience of racial profiling, but not my last. I once got stopped by 6 or 7 cops for walking through a neighborhood in Seattle Washington to visit my Aunt, but that too is another story. Just thought I would share this experience at Wink's.
