I'm not the biggest fan of Walmart, but this is one of the better stores that I've been in. For the most part its pretty calm at this store unless you happen to be there when all of the tourists get in town or there is something going on. The store is smaller than most Walmarts, but usually has what I am looking for. It is not the cleanest store, however, and often has items covered in dust and floors that look like they haven't been cleaned in months in the side aisles. Parking can be an issue, but I tend to park near the side door and go in that way to avoid the chaos that can be by the main door. read more

Recently our experience has been horrible. Bread that has several days expiration has mold on it within a few days! Chicken breasts look more like breasts that come from a really small animal and does not resemble a chicken. Both those items were returned. Shelves that are really low on items. Carry them today and tomorrow or even a few weeks don't show up again. What they did to the Hilton Head store is crazy. Every day that I go there, things are moved around and I need a GPS to find anything. The Arts and Crafts are basically nonexistent except for a few skeins of wool and some paint stuff and a few prepackaged fabrics. What is going on with this store? Do NOT attempt a grocery delivery order. ours was delayed for over 24 hours and then never even delivered. Walmart customer service was no help. we started the first 1.5 days of our vacation with no food and we had to go grocery shopping in the end because the order never delivered. read more

This is by far the cleanest Walmart I've ever been to! While on vacation, we stopped by to pick up some essential groceries, and they had everything we needed and more. I'm usually not a big fan of Walmart, but this location was surprisingly nice. It was quiet, well-stocked, and incredibly clean--though that may have been due to the time of day we visited. If we need anything else during our trip, we'll definitely be coming back! read more

Compared to many Walmarts in many other states even this one was clean, organized, and every employee was working and friendly. There is also a very large section for souvenirs which was not only convenient but less expensive than other places. We were able to get in and out with several checkers and self check outs available. We will utilize it again the next time we are in the area. read more

Customer service picks and chooses when it will be OPEN. We've tried 3 times to make a return but it hasn't been open. We try to call before coming but no one answers the phone for operator. Had a synthetic oil change and tire rotation see today and it was great. Booked the appointment online, showed up and boom I was in and out in 30 min. Friendly staff, clean waiting area, and as far as price the best value on Hilton Head Island. I will be back! read more

I've been here a number of times while staying on Hilton Head. Always for specific items. Each time they have had what I was looking for and I was able to find easily. 2 stars because I went in very early one morning to pick up 20 bottles poweraid type stuff. 20 bottles. early in the day. They did not have a register open, self checkout only. That alone was bad. but then, when I asked the employee to do a quick check out for the 20, as in scan one and multiply by 20 she said each had to be scanned separately. And then she stood over me like she thought I might miss one or something. So 2 stars for being generally unhelpful and unpleasant. OK parking. read more

I was down in Hilton Head on vacation. Stopped by Wal Mart to see about a fishing license around 330 PM. Not one person around anywhere. I noticed a Spanish girl (associate) and another Spanish woman much older walking towards me. I asked them for help in sporting goods. I young begins to tell me. If I could give this place -1 stars I would. Went to the auto center to get an oil change. Took them forever to get everything ready. I walked through the store while they were doing the oil change. I didn't realize until I'd gotten back to the condo, but some stuff was missing out of my car. I had went shopping the day before and left a bag in the front floor board and it's no where to be found. I've been trying to call, but good luck trying to get an answer from this place. I read the reviews and I don't agree. I've lived in HH 4 years. The crappy Walmart in my old city makes this one look like a dream! So many trees in the parking lot, I feel like I'm in a park! I always find parking in my preferred row. I like self checkout and most times there's no line but when there is, it moves fast. Pharmacy has helpful staff. Get my flu shots there. I get groceries weekly. Prices are better than other grocery stores and they have everything on my list. And they have things I need right away in stock, like wood stain, or windshield wipers or Apple phone chargers or a wheelbarrow or a t-shirt. I'm obviously a fan read more

No stars given. This is the second year in a row I've had to cancel my order because the local Walmart could not provide services I purchased. And claim their phone is out of service to avoid answering calls. If you can't keep up with the demand of the island and the guests visiting, you should not advertise for it. Looks cool outside right? Think again. I already despise Walmart and avoid it at all costs but this one became my worst living nightmare. Having arrived after a long drive it made me question if Hilton head was the right choice. There were no cashiers open at 9-10 pm so it was self checkout only. There were a rude group of tourists in front of us spending $800 on their order, not letting others go ahead of them and taking their sweet old time. We had to go to another self checkout with a long line, where the checkout manager was wearing some sort of space suit/ hazmat suit. Can we say what a freak show?! read more

Do not order food for pickup! We waited over an hour for them to bring the food out to us. It would have been so much faster to go in and shop for our own stuff. It's Walmart, so expectations weren't very high. The prices are good but the service and cleanliness is where this store needs work. Every check-out line we went on closed just before it was our turn to be rung out. We ended going on the self-service line. The bathrooms are disgusting. You were hard pressed to find a stall that locks and doesn't look like a poop bomb exploded in it. Where this Walmart does excel is its wine selection. They have wines from some really good, upscale wineries and the prices are discounted. They should serve you a glass before you go into the restrooms.... read more

Bought a car battery when ours died on vacation and was met by the walking dead for every question I had - Q-where r car batteries A-think those are in houseware, Q-can u help me find the correct battery A- u got to find that book somewhere around here and it will tell u, A- can y'all install the battery A-I don't think we know how, Q-where do I return my used core battery A-I need a special code, so u can just go through any register. Four trips in and out of the store to install, return the core a couple of times, and to make another purchase. This place is the purgatory of all Wal marts. read more
