Decent Asian market w/ good hot Viet food ! My partner and I shared a large bowl of Pho. Like others have mentioned, it has a slightly different taste than traditional pho broth, but it was still good and was a large portion. I would prefer having basil and bean sprouts on the side to add to taste, but there was a good amount in the dish. Will come back to try other dishes! Mon Asia is a hidden Thai food gem located in a small strip of shops on Glenburnie you have to check out! If you're craving authentic Thai, this is the place. While the atmosphere is basic, the food is made to order and phenomenal! Plus you can browse through their grocery aisles while they're making your food. Since your food is made to order, you can select your level of spiciness. I had the Basil Stir Fry with chicken. I ordered medium spice, and it was the perfect level of a slow building heat. The chicken was extremely tender and flavorful! I thought I would have leftovers for dinner, but it was too good not to finish! I also ordered the Thai tea which was creamy, smooth My husband had the glass noodle salad with shrimp and squid. He said the squid was tender and flavorful. We were both happy with our choices and will make this our go-to for Asian cuisine. Plus we purchased a few grocery items to create our own meals at home. read more

Stopped by to check out the market and for lunch after all the amazing reviews and I initially wanted to try non-noodle soup dishes but I had my 3 year old with me and he wanted noodle soup so I went with the large pho, Thai iced tea and Lao style green papaya salad. The market itself has pretty much all your necessary Asian ingredients. It's well kept, clean and service itself on both sides were fine. It must have been what I ordered and I really want to try new dishes next time, but I was surprised at how bland everything mostly was. The Lao style papaya salad looked too light and very much like the Thai style, had no flavors of the traditional umami, salty, spicy and sour. I was disappointed. The pho had a really tasty flavor but it did not taste like a traditional pho broth. I actually do appreciate the punch of flavors nonetheless. My noodles were soft but didn't break apart and my child ate all of his so I was happy with that. The Thai tea was great. I'm hopeful for better dishes on my next visit. read more

Wow ! This place is about as authentic as it gets. My favorites were the shrimp pad Thai and pad woon sen salad. We also ordered the Laos style papaya salad ( that is an acquired taste) but it wasn't the same without sticky rice! Lastly we had pad kee mao with beef. I would go back here in a heartbeat. Went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was sorta busy. Be patient they are worth the wait ! read more

Waited 45 darn minutes for three bobas. Arrived after 645pm. They get online orders etc. i wonder why their rating went down to 97.5. Anything below 97 is just gross. I love this place and it's usually top notch clean. Not sure what's up, but she needs to hire more people in the summer time and especially during government pay day. I give them 3 stars for both Grocery area and restaurant. Their grocery area as I walked through each aisle, I'd say 45% of their products were expired, sadly!! They need to remove them! Restaurant area, food was okay! Their curry was a bit runny and watery. But overall, service was alright as the cashier was nice and friendly. read more

Hidden gem of New Bern!!! This is a solid choice for Asian (Thai/ Lao cuisine). Growing up in Asia and from my travels, I am very familiar w/ what different types of Asian food/ cuisine is suppose to taste like...And, this One of the best Asian food I have here in NC! The food here is always fresh and delicious. Service is great, I usually see the same woman at check-out, she's very friendly. I love perusing the isles while waiting for my to-go order. My favorites are the papaya salad (Lao style), drunken noodles, pad thai and bamboo salad. Consistent meals, I always know when I order it's going to be the same every time. The food was good but prepare to wait for...ever, or avoid the peak hours. They do have some unique Asian snacks in the store, however lot of them expired already, two out of five items I bought were expired , and one of them was expired two years ago, they shouldn't even put on shelves! read more

We had a large group and the weather was pleasant enough to eat outside in December. The food was all good. One in our party ordered the seafood stir fry and it looked very good. The pad thai's that we got were all great. The red curry with beef was good, but keep in mind that it is not (or does not taste like) a more traditional thai red curry. read more

If you are looking for an authentic Thai place to eat, you can stop looking now because this is the PLACE!! I'm so glad to have discover this place! My family and I love their food so much that we have to drive an hour just to eat there! On my last trip there, I had the Yum Woon Sen, which is a Thai glass noodle dish with squid and shrimp, it's a cold noodle dish blended with the seafood, cilantro, purple onion, tomatoes! And I just couldn't describe how goooooood it was! It was the best flavor I've ever had, and I never thought I could find something quite SO good in New Bern! All the friends who have went with me kept raving about how good their food was! I will definitely bring more people back! read more

I very much enjoyed the customer service of the young man working the counter. He was very nice and helpful. I dod not get a chance to check out the whole store as I came to just eat dinner. My meal was delicious and i lobed the oyster sauce they had sitting on the table. I could eat this all the time. There were not an appetizers and all the were larger sizes. I wish there were have been more choices. The food was made from scratch. Although clean the tables were just kinda thrown together very causally. This is a great place for take out or for a casual meal of really great thai food. I wasnt a fan of the papaya salad at all. read more

I am very impressed with this little market/ restaurant! I saw that they had the boat noodles and so I had to come and check them out. I had boat noodles when I visited Thailand and I haven't stopped thinking about it! This place did not disappoint. I got a small bowl but it was still a lot of food! It was a little different than the one I got in Thailand (not a shocker as I'm sure it's difficult to get all the ingredients here). The food was great, service was great. I got red Thia curry with shrimp. The taste was spot on but the veggies were just too much zucchini. I didn't mind a few but it was mostly zucchini. I will be back for Pho. Ramen, and everything else on the menu. I wish they bahn mi. Oh man. read more

Small walk up eatery connected to an Asian grocery store, easy free parking outside (in the end of a small shopping strip). Good menu, several tables inside and out and they do alot of takeout too! I got the Red Curry. Took a little while to get the food as they were busy but it was excellent! Highly recommended!! read more

An easy to miss restaurant that offers an array of delicious Asian dishes. Ended up going here after shopping in the market for some specific items, and was so very glad I did. The chicken Pad Thai dish from this restaurant was the best Pad Thai that I've had in New Bern so far! This is definitely going to be my go-to spot for it. The fried rice was also good, but not as impressive as the Pad Thai. In terms of boba drinks, I only liked the drinks themselves rather than the boba. The boba had a nice consistency, but it was not sweet at all. If anything, it was quite flavorless. In terms of covid-19, I could see that all the employees, even the ones preparing food in the kitchen, were wearing masks. The tables in the dining area are also spaced out, but they do not seem to be mandating people to wear their masks. They also have an outdoor dining area that one could sit at. Regardless, I'll definitely be coming back here for the food and urge everyone to give it a chance. read more

It's a hit and miss restaurant with both food and service. The girl that supposedly own it can be rude, and staff as well. I came in here a few times to pick up food or to purchase something and they'll just carry on there conversation and then attend to the customer. I've came in here a few time with no one to be found to ask where something is. Food is okay. They finally cook to accommodate the customers liking, especially with the spice level. Having just moved to North Carolina, one of the worst things that one faces when they leave an area that they were comfortable with is finding a replacement for 'old favorites'.... Well?!.. my search for amazing Thai deliciousness is Over.... This will be my 'go to'... Went to lunch with 2 co-workers... One had the Pho... One had fried rice, while I had the Massaman Curry. Bobby, the manager, came out and explained that they had not received any orders. I immediately felt sick to my stomach, and I think he noticed because he quickly reassured me that he had a plan. Bobby explained that while the turkeys had not arrived yet, he would fulfill everything else on my order. His calm and proactive approach instantly put me at ease. Although I didn't get the turkey, I was just grateful to have food for my residents. Bobby was absolutely amazing--polite, kind, and professional throughout the entire situation. Thanks to his excellent service, I have already recommended Publix Catering to several people and will continue to use them in the future. Thank you so much, Bobby!

A few minutes later, after he walked away, the entire end cap display fell down. I knew I had not touched the display, and if I had accidentally caused it, I would have helped pick it up immediately. What bothered me most was feeling watched and judged while simply shopping peacefully. The situation could have been avoided if more attention had been paid to properly securing the display instead of monitoring customers. Unfortunately, this was not my first uncomfortable experience at this store. On another visit, I went through checkout with a newer employee who was throwing my groceries across the counter as she scanned them. The items were being handled so roughly that even the bagger finally said, "Okay, okay, that's enough." I made a light comment that my bread would probably be handled better at Piggly Wiggly, but the employee did not seem to understand the concern. After that incident, I called the store to calmly share my experience with management because I truly believed the employee simply needed more training. However, when the phone was answered, the manager immediately said, "What do you want?" in a very rude tone before even knowing why I was calling. I introduced myself politely as a customer and explained the situation respectfully. Only after I finished speaking did the tone completely change to, "Oh yes ma'am, thank you for calling." Also during today's visit, I was walking down the frozen food aisle when I suddenly heard a door slam. I turned around and saw a male employee quickly rushing down the aisle while a customer followed behind him. I moved out of the way as he approached another worker and asked where the pantyhose were located. She explained that the store no longer sells pantyhose. After he walked away, the customer like myself looked at me and said, "Did you see that?" I told her yes. She explained that he seemed upset because she had asked him earlier why all the pantyhose were gone. I simply suggested that maybe he felt uncomfortable or offended by the question. She then told me, "You a good girl," which honestly left me confused about what she meant. I remained calm and respectful during each interaction, but the overall atmosphere and professionalism I experienced during these visits were disappointing. Customers deserve to feel respected, comfortable, and welcomed while shopping.
