And I'm guessing that's what the cashier was thinking "oh no a groups of teens", because and I was about to pay for my stuff and put my number in, the older cashier asked if I would like a bag and I said yes please. She then took my cash payment gave me my change, but did not bag my items. I asked her simply "oh do you have a bag I could use?" And she answered in the most disrespectful tone " I asked you if you wanted one and you said no", I then said "no maam I said yes I would like one" . And then she scoffed at me, bagged my items, dropped the bag infront of me in the counter and called for the next person. No "have a good day", just rolled her eyes. Me and my friends talked about how rude she was for the rest of our outing in Birkdale. As it completely ruined the vibe of the day. Grocery aisles are wide enough for carts and the shelves are properly leveled. There are no "holes" in the stock today and the prices are displayed clearly. Harris Teeter, depending on the neighborhood they served, varied somewhat. This is one of the more upscale ones serving a rather upscale area. That said, with a lot of competition, they have one of the lowest price structures in the Harris Teeter chain, This is particulary true if you use their loyalty card call a VIC card. The deal with Kroger was only consumated back in May but already, things have changed. A large number of items have had their price reduced and Kroger/Harris Teeter is making a statement that they are going to be competitive in the long run. That said, we have been shopping at this store since it opened probably 15 years ago. Selection is excellent and the staff is great. If they are out of something or you can't find something within the store, they make sure it is on the next truck and if not a normal item, will pass on the request to the pertainent buyers. The pharmacy staff is also excellent and have been responsive to every need. One more point and that is they just finished a store removation and now they offer a lot more from an in house deli, breakfast bar, pizza bar, salad bar etc. Only thing missing is a place to eat it, otherwise you have to take it out.
