Stayed over in Rocky Mount. On our way down to Florida. Got in pretty late. Stopped at this little local grocery store. Had everything we needed. Prices were pretty high but when you're that tired and it's that late it really doesn't matter. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The parking lot seemed a little seedy. read more

The cashier Nancy was awesome and very helpful! She was polite and patient with all the customers and assisted them with loading their carts

They have the worst bagging people in the country. Example, putting several wine bottles in a paper bag on top of bread. They always put to much in the paper bags and usually rip while loading or unloading. We have complained several time, talked with the manager several times. Always get a sorry but they never fix anything. Most employees have such a bad attitude. Don't seen to want to help. The wife would rather drive all the way to Wilson Harris Teeter than use the Rocky Mount one. read more

Do not visit this store if you are in a hurry. The customer service team is SLOW and you will be in line a while. Zane needs to clean house with the customer service team and start over with people who can efficiently get people checked out and through the lines. read more

I use this Harris Teeter weekly. They have an acceptable variety of fresh foods and vegetables. It is more of a neighborhood type grocery store versus a giant super store. It is usually clean and for the most part everyone is friendly. They don't always have the cheapest prices, but the prices are reasonable. read more

Went to the deli at 9:15 am to order a sub for lunch. Was informed they don't start making subs until 10 am. Many other HT's have breakfast menus & make subs in the morning. Poor decision to not offer these options at this location. read more

Deli Sandwiches are fantastic! Homemade breads, Boarshead meats&cheeses, all the fixings & sauces. A delicious sandwich, hot or cold are a great value! (Especially On game day Sunday, foot longs are $4.99!) The sandwich makers are friendly and fast or order ahead. A must try!!! read more

The deli sandwiches and wraps can be a hit or a miss. The first time I tried a turkey wrap, there was plenty of meat, and fresh vegetables. Sorry to say, that wasn't the case when I went back a week later to have another one of those delicious turkey wraps. On my second trip to the deli, I was given nearly no meat, about three olive slices, and way too much lettuce. She said they were out of tomatoes. This is a grocery store, and I'm sure they had fresh tomatoes. I think she just didn't care to take the time to restock the tomatoes. I was trying to explain to her she had placed too much lettuce on my wrap, and I would like a few more olives, but she acted as though she either didn't hear me or just didn't care. Not sure if I will try this Harris Teeter deli again, as don't want to pay for a turkey wrap and get a lettuce wrap. Really sad, because I love Harris Teeter. read more

We grabbed a hotel nearby on our way down to Florida. It was late, we were hungry, and we needed some mixers for that bottle of rum we packed. We were so excited to find a grocery store in this sleepy North Carolina town that was open 24 hours! The store was clean, the cashier was friendly and the produce was fresh. I was particularly impressed by the cashier. Even though it was almost midnight, she was happy and helpful. I am not a regular HT patron, so I didn't have my VIC card handy. She tried a handful of different phone numbers to help us save on the sale items. No eye rolling, no sighing, just excellent customer service. Thumbs up! read more

Worst Harris Teeter. This day and age, how can you not have Apple Pay..quality and variety of produce are lacking.

Had to pick up some scripts that my wife needed to start right away. I got there about 15 min before closing. The 2 ladies there were working hard to fill the scripts as quickly and accurately as possible. They got everything filled and they were a joy to talk to. One was Lauren E and I didn't get the name of the other nice lady, but these 2 demonstrated incredible customer service with a smile! read more

They never answer the phone. Constantly ringing at 11:47 am never enough staff to answer the phone or works the various departments. Their selection of dips and deli foods are dwindling. Wilson store and Harris Teeters are much better. The only positive is the floral and they have the nicest arrangements and pricing...much better than any of the local florists. Great Store! Filthy stinking bathrooms never cleaned, no hooks for coat or purse and kitchen areas are not very clean either. Actually, they are in shocking condition and in full view! As soon as you walk into the store you can smell a rotten mildew smell from the vegetables too. Yuck! For bakery goods, fresh cut meats, fruit medleys, or veggies, go somewhere else. Their veggies almost always look wilted. I go to Food lion instead for those things. Otherwise they do have a good selection but their prices are high. Every single thing almost costs $3.99 !!! I LOVE my Harris Teeter!!! I frequent the grocery store a few times a week and I can not say enough about this HT. It's always clean, fully stocked and the employees are just so friendly and happy to help. The customer service is unsurpassed from other grocery chains. Rocky Mount is a small town so this would be first choice for food shopping anyway in my opinion but there's talks HT may be bought out by other chains. I hope not because HT functions at a much higher level of customer satisfaction than what I've experienced at Publix, Food Lion, Safeway or Stop 'n Shop. HT also has pretty consistent good weekly deals with your Vic card or coupons. This chain doesn't have their customers unload their cart. The cashier unloads your cart and packs for you and they do it right every time. They take their time, are attentive to their tasks and aren't lazy, aloof or lack common sense that cold foods go in the insulated bag and dry foods in the cloth bags etc. If you ask where something is, they will literally stop what theyre doing in the aisle and walk you all the way to where it is. I've never experienced a staff person with attitude and it seriously is the people and the welcoming nature of employees that keeps me a loyal customer. FYI- pay attention in the parking lot b/c I've found some elderly folks don't pay good attention or drivers just go too fast. Some corners are hard to see around when youre going down parking aisles too. read more

I don't know why the few that had a bad experience had one, but I can tell all of you that this store is the best that Rocky Mount, Wilson area has to offer. I feel welcome when I go and I am always treated with respect. The store is always clean and the food is always top notch and fresh. I had an incident once, where the cashier forgot to charge me for my waters, and I call the store. The lady who answered the phone was so surprised that I called, and she was very courteous and thankful. She told me not to worry about it, the store would pay for the water. :) This is the ONLY grocery store I shop at. Food Lion and Wal Mart and the others do not ever compare. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in our area, and I travel for a living, so in comparison, it's the best. They will work with you if you need something, and the produce people answer questions, and tell you when the best time to come is. All of the employees are sweet, and the service areas (meat/fish, deli, bakery) go above and beyond for us every single time we need something. Great managers! Great store! Great service! read more

Prices are a little high when items aren't on sale. It seems as though if you advertise sale items, there would be an ample supply on hand prior to the sale. This store is always out of the listed sales items and the comment received is, the truck hasn't come in yet. I don't relish having to make a return trip for the sales items I came for, unless the idea is to boost sales by having you come back again for the sales items, knowing you will make additional purchases when you return. read more

I am still waiting four days later for resolution ... I am so happy to say that as of today, I will not step foot in Harris Teeter again. I will drive for miles to avoid this store. I am not from North Carolina, but have been here for almost a year. I keep telling myself "it will get better". I think not. I was happy to find a store and pharmacy together, made me feel like I was home again. The pharmacist are the rudest, most arrogant, unprofessional people that I have come across. Unfortunately, my husband takes a lot of medication. They offer no counseling, the don't fax in the refills correctly, and if you have a question, they don't have time for you. If you are lucky to get one's attention, beware...............he will probably start yelling. After today, I will give one of the other pharmacies my $1,675.00 a month business. I have found that the butchers (or thought they were) have no knowledge of meat or the cuts of meat. When the weather gets cold, I like to make Chili. Chili is normally made with a course grind of beef. For 40 years, all I have ever looked for or asked for is "Chili Grind" or a course ground meat. Well, the butcher sure didn't like that question. At first he claimed to have never heard of it. Then went on to show me every package of meat! When I tried to explain exactly what is was, he replied "North Carolina made us stop selling that years and years ago!" Okay, now I know that I will move on and find a nice, decent, respectful Grocery Store and Pharmacy. Less stress in my life! read more

They claim their trained high on customer service. That's not the experience I had. I called to save time to ask about a product, the person in the meat dept. disgruntle, pretended to verify he had what I inquired about, and so off I went to pick up the good deal that did not exist at all. A waste of time and gas in an SUV. Then not 12 hours later my wife calls and ask me to stop by 12am for some e-vic specials but tells me instead of getting another run around, which they can care less about,verify she'd get honored the e-vic special by using her telephone # and not her card. I called in and was told the phone # was sufficient. I got home after 12 am and had to go back to the store again because it was not sufficient and didn't give her the advertised sale price. A waste of time and gas in an SUV again. Even though they self-proclaim they have great customer service. That's far from our experience. And no one at Harris Teeter gives a darn. All we got was employees too much in a hurry to scurry about their daily task and zero time to zero in on the customer needs. Just brush them off with any response and totally forget that the customers are their reason for being. Who cares how many trips they waste their time making. Because we don't have time to deal with them. Just make sure the store is stocked. Bottom line. Harris Teeter's word does not smell good. read more
