So many good things to say about this Harris Teeters. Located just outside the sprawling Bayside community this store serves both the local community and seasonal visitors. Conveniently positioned next to a wine/liquor store, gas station, and a restaurant--Fox's Den. Basically, everything you need in one location. The store was well lit and well staffed---even with the summer vacationer demand the lines moved smoothly. Store has everything you need and with an onsite bakery you have access to all the fresh baked goods you might want on vacation. A big plus for those who enjoy their Starbucks is the kiosk at the front of the store---this is a full service SBs not just some kiosk selling SB brand coffee. Pick up options as well as order ahead also made it well positioned to serve those that want to get in-and-out ASAP. read more

Customer service at this store (327) is lacking so much that this loyal HT shopper will never patronize this location again. What a shame, considering it is very convenient to my home in Bayside - but I will simply drive the extra 2 min down the road to the next grocery store where the customer service is always top notch. I approached the sub counter and waited to be acknowledged by one of the employees behind the counter. Neither bothered to greet me. Or to tell me that the line, apparently, usually snakes to the right. Despite my standing and waiting patiently, Deja took the order of a woman who arrived at the counter after me. Still not a word of acknowledgment from anyone behind the counter. Eventually, the gentleman begin the counter asked me if I was picking up an order. I responded that I was not picking up; rather, I had been standing at the counter to place an order. That's when Deja said "the line usually forms that way". What Deja should have said was, "my apologies - I didn't see you, please let Me take your order now". This displayed a lack of customer service skills, which can be corrected through intensive training. However, most disturbingly, Deja also exposed herself to be unprofessional, immature and rude by responding to me by screwing up her face, making faces, rolling her eyes, smirking and giggling. Deja is beyond correction. What she needs is to seek a job in another field as she is clearly incapable of any job on the service industry. read more

I find this to be the best grocery store around! It's a pleasure shopping here. They have a large selection of meats and cheeses, a good deli and lots of items that are necessary for beach living! I absolutely love their floral department and greeting card section. If you are looking for a magazine to bring to the beach--they have lots of options. All of this, plus there is an in-store Starbucks. We just grabbed the fixings for a great dinner here. Crab cakes (ready for sautéing and a ready-to-eat lobster roll--with lots of lobster meat.) Rude managers don't know how to run a checkout line I was treated very unfairly by a manager when I was pulled out of a check out line to go to the back of another line for no reason and yelled at by the manager for asking why. I had already waited 30 minutes in the original line. He was rude, abrupt, and has zero customer service skills. read more

Their prices aren't bad at all. Shop the sales and you'll be happy. You can add e coupons to your VIC account so there's no clipping. There is a Starbucks inside, you can purchase their merchandise at a Harris teeter register if they are closed. They have a sushi bar with freshly made to order food. You can order deli meats on their app while you shop for other food. So no waiting. Don't have to pay up front. You pay when you check out with your other groceries. The hours change during the summer to be open later. Winter hours aren't horrible. This one has a gas station which. You can use your points to get gas cheaper. But it's only beneficial if you're spending hundreds, you get 10c off for every $100 spent. They have 4 self checkout registers and usually a lot of empty registers. One maybe two people running them. Every once in awhile you'll get a cashier that throws groceries Don't go on Thursday unless going for the senior discount. read more

This is my family's go-to grocery store when we're at the shore. It's in an easy-to-access location, has plenty of parking, and even a pick-up service (you pull up to the front and they load your order into your car) if you don't want to waste any of your vacation minutes shopping for food. We typically grab meals from their market section when we first get to town -- pizza, sandwiches to order, sushi, soups and salads, there's something for everyone, even my gluten-free husband and super-picky kid. Prices aren't that bad, always plenty of sales going on, and the store includes both a full-blown Starbucks (they accept the app!) and pharmacy. There's also a Redbox movie rental stand at the entrance and a seasonal aisle with beach necessities, games, books, etc. What more could you want from a grocery store? read more

I think this is the best grocery store in the area. Their seafood is amazingly fresh and they are well stocked. The prices were really good even compared to the Food Lion down the street. I must've gone there almost every day while vacationing for a week. Highly recommend this place. read more

Three stars mostly because of the deli. They sell Boars Head or I would never go to this deli. Honestly the slowest and most poorly run deli counter I have ever seen. Been there many times and have come to expect a long wait but it is now officially ridiculous. The gentleman took my order, repeated it back, wrote it down and got it wrong. We were visiting from Oregon and needed to get snacks. We decided to visit Fred Meyer's southern cousin (both Fred Meyer and Harris Teeter are owned by Kroger) since it was open later than Weis. The selection wasn't as good as either Weis or Fred Meyer, particularly when it came to gluten free items. When I got to the check out I had trouble getting cash back. An error message appeared on my screen and it said that assistance was on the way. The two people monitoring self checkout (the only available option after 9:30) didn't notice me and were focused on another customer who left his items on the conveyer belt, walked away and came back. I had to wave my arm to get attention and the the associate who helped me didn't do a great job of communicating what happened or what to do, since I had to ask questions to get this addressed. read more

While I usually have only positive experiences when dealing with HT's deli, I recently had my first overwhelmingly negative one. Most people just take my order when I tell them what I want. This was a tall thin male, mustache, mid 50s probably--just so the store knows who to hold accountable if they care. Well I told him I wanted sliced mozzarella, and he steered me towards the herb mozzarella because he said it is really good on grilled cheese. OK so that's when I informed him that I am on a keto diet, so bread is out of the question and this will wind up in my omelettes. For those of you who are unaware, keto means we eliminate every god forsaken carb that we can. He replied "oh so none of that for you then". I did not know if he meant the grilled cheese, or that cheese altogether so I pushed for some clarity with regards to whether or not the herbs added significant carbs to the cheese, and he told me no, and no further explanation. So I had him slice me a pound of the herb mozzarella, more or less to be polite. Since it's a very good thing that I do not trust people who steer my decisions when I know what I want in specific, it's an even better thing that I acted on that instinct and read the nutritional pamphlet for Boar's Head products that was on the counter. Guess what? The herb mozz has 2 g of carbs per serving, whereas the plain mozz has 0. It's a good thing I turned down the taste test on account of being on a fast. This was getting pretty uncomfortable, and I had to tell him to go with the original plan after he had sliced the herb one, and just do the plain mozz instead. Even though I was definitely irritated I apologized to him for the mix-up, and he still had yet to pick up on the fact that it was me who was owed the apology. I guess subtlety is a lost cause on some people. Well when I made my first omelette with this cheese, I had to scrape herbs off of the first piece of cheese I used. So they don't even know the products they are selling, too lazy to find out when they don't know, and they don't care one bit about cross-contamination. I guess it's a really good thing I don't have celiac. He had already abandoned the customer ahead of me without even being clear about the deal there, so she did not even know what to tell another attendant who asked if she was being helped, and this guy had nothing but excuses about how he "never actually began waiting on her". Even in light of this experience, HT is a lovely store, at least relative to what else is in the area. I will continue to use the deli, with caution, and will certainly avoid that guy. In the spirit of keeping things even-handed, I will also continue to get my dry ice from HT. It is like a godsend that they even have it because I've found no other local source on that. For now anyway. Remember, trust is finite people. You only get so much of it before it's all gone. read more

Excellent store with a wide variety of harder to find items you're not going to see at Acme or Food Lion. Produce was very fresh and they seem to have everything a person could want. Staff was extremely friendly and the store ambience feels nice, the lighting is somewhat muted and overall they have nice looking displays. They are nearly ready to open their gasoline pumps across the parking lot. read more

I visited Harris Teeter in Selbyville, DE several times during my 12-night visit to the beach. I was very pleased with the store. It felt very fresh, like it was either a relatively new center, or nicely redone. I found that the overall selection was great, leaving very little to be missed, if at all. I was glad that this store was nearby, because I am already somewhat familiar with what to expect in a Harris Teeter, and this store was very much the same. It seemed slightly smaller than my hometown store, but it could have just been the layout was slightly different. In any case, I would recommend the store for fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and other staple items. It is nice to know that I don't have to bring everything along from home, because there is a more than acceptable store nearby. read more

They have the best quality of selections in the area, Maryland included. The prices are slightly higher, but I will drive the extra 10 minutes for the savings in the frustration of poor produce in the off season. They have order ahead shopping and pickup, which is convenient, however, I prefer to shop and pick my own. WOohooo!! Finally this area gets a much needed specialty grocery store! This is a chain from the South, and is a highly welcomed resident now on the Eastern shore. This store is comparable to Wegman's, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's. Wonderful staff, amazing fish choices and prices! Beautiful fresh produce, yummy breads, tasty cheese, and lots of free samples! They also have a Sat. rib special for $7.99 which beats any price on the Eastern shore and is much better than what most of the restaurants down here serve. Check it out! Not as busy as Food Lion, Superfresh, or Giant, and much better quality for your money! Wish we had one out here! read more

This is the only grocery store worth mentioning in the area. Its about a 15 minute drive from the Pines but well worth it. Other reviewers compared it to Wegmans and Whole Foods. I wouldn't go that far but it is far superior to Food Lion and Super Fresh. The store is big and clean and the selection is great. Prices are fair as well and they do run some good specials with their club card. Highlights include the produce section, the deli counter, the butcher/seafood section and the bakery. They also have a sushi section and some good prepared foods. read more

I rate Harris Teeter very high when it comes to service, quality of merchandise, pricing (which is competitive with Giant and Acme, but not WalMart-low), quality of store brands, variety of personal care products such as soap, moisturizers, shampoo, etc., and their pharmacy. I would give them a fourth star if they started taking Apple Pay once more--they used to, then stopped, seemingly because they adopted a new system, and have told me it may be coming, but never does. Also, they are offering gas, but their prices are way high unless you use their rewards system, which is very arcane. So, HT -- give me Apple Pay and better gas pump prices, and you get a fifth star, okay? Apple Pay is especially important with the COVID-19 restrictions! If you're in Ocean City definitely stock up on quality food items at Harris Teeter. This is a great market much like Stew Leonard's if you're from the New York area. We love to have our own in room happy hour on vacation before we head out for a night on the town, and Harris Teeter's had all the best things we could want for apps with our cocktails. Fresh olives and antipasto, crab dip and seafood salad. Beautiful breads and cheeses. And don't forget to pick up some fresh donuts for your morning. read more

I love the sushi and the pizza isn't bad. The market style concept is inviting. Selection of products could be better. They do not carry items and/or brands I usually purchase. Management at Dunkirk location are not customer friendly. Ive filed complaints about the store manager being rude and ignoring customers. He's not kind to people. I've heard staff complain about management as well. The check out process is horrible. Computers seems to lag and prices ring up different than their signage. Pharmacy was a nightmare the few times I've used them. Produce goes rotten faster than competing stores. I rarely shop at this grocery chain. I prefer Giant, Wegmans or Whole Foods. read more

Maybe it's because we're from the city but we eat mostly organic. The only produce that we found organic was lemons and grapefruit and some other items. It was extremely limited. I travel from ocean Pines to shop at a first rate grocery store, even though there are several average stores in my area. I'm even willing to pay more for some products in order to have a great selection which I get at Harris Teeters. It isn't a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Wegmans by any stretch but it is by far the best grocery store in the vincity. I was shocked when I was told I had to bring my own bags and did not get a bagger. I might as well go to a box store where prices are slashed. . I never expected Harris teeters to go this route. Hypocritical when the cashier said she wasn't able to bag because of touching the food Due to Covid. what a joke. She touches the food every time she scans it. I love Harris Teeter. It is one of the best stores around. This location lives up to my expectations. It is not your typical beach grocery store. It offers a decent selection of all items. It is a real grocery. The fish department is clean and well managed. The deli, perfection. Produce that you can be proud of when serving. The prices are good. This is a very nice store. It's clean, well stocked and it's expensive. My aunt lives in the neighborhood and says around October 1st prices go down. When we come to town, we love to come over here for fresh donuts in the morning. Can you say "absolutely delicious"? Six donuts for $3.49. These donuts are the best I've had in years. When I go in to get the donuts they are normally stocking, so there is a massive amount of stock clogging the deli/bakery area. The deli selection, olive bar, ect is beautiful. Just a nice store. They never seem to have the self check out open and normally there is only one cashier to check you out. This morning (Saturday) there were three cashiers but one had her rope pulled over and light off. However, she was taking people in the line. I've also had the lady from customer service come over to help me. Out front you can't beat the alligator ride for a PENNY! My daughter is getting to big for the alligator machine but we have to ride it every year. A smaller, very nice store... but be prepared for the prices. read more
