I have used Harrison a few times over the past couple of years when I travel to Fort Worth for my Navy reserve duty at JRB. I do not always use my plane, but sometimes the travel time savings just makes sense (not particularly the cost though). This past month (April 2024) there was a couple of issues, that I will say I have never experienced before. First, I rent a car for the couple of days I'm there. In the past it's been Enterprise (I think). No issues, reasonable cost. Don't need a fancy car. This last time when I called, I was told they have a new rental agency, with significantly increased cost. Well, it is what it is. I put about 50 or so miles on the car for the weekend. I drove from the airport to my hotel in downtown FW, the next day to and from the Navy base from my downtown hotel, then on Sunday to the Navy base then to the airport. This usually translates to 2-3 gallons of gas. When I went to put gas in it, it took over 5 gallons! Enough for about 150 miles of driving (30mpg car). The gauge looks full but not really. Not really much to get too peeved about. Means somebody else was using the car outside of the rental. When I drop off the car, I always look over the car to confirm no damage, and none, that I was not aware about (had issues with this in the past with other rental companies, so it's a habit). I get a call 3 days later from the company claiming I broke the front windshield! What!!?? Nobody ever checked the car when I returned it to verify it was damage free. This rental agency is off site, and they need to drive these cars for quite a bit on the roads in Fort Worth. They sent me nice pictures later, but the car was in a different location than where I dropped it off. This was essentially a rock chip and crack. When their personnel were moving the car, this is most likely when this occurred. I know it was not when I had the car. But since they have no accountability of the car for some time frames, they blame the customer. These people suck! They need to realize they have holes in their system and have to take some risk. Their rental cost was over $100 more than I paid with Enterprise before. Go rentals is terrible. California company of course! Second, I took me over 30 minutes to pay for gas and hanger fees. There were 2 folks at the desk, obviously one was very new, the one checking me out. The other was far more experienced but was sitting at her computer and would not lift a finger to assist the newer lady assisting me, who was quite confused and bewildered about how the computer process worked. I understand the problems some of these FBO's may have in securing rental car agencies for rental cars for transient use. But they need to be much more careful about who they pick as it reflects greatly on their reputation. There was nobody to check in this car, so the agency has to accept it as is with no accusations. I get the new girl up front, that's part of doing business (not necessarily the other girl not really helping though when the girl helping me was obviously struggling), but the choice of shady companies like Go Rentals, is not very forgiving. Geuss in the future I will choose a different airport in the Fort Worth area, there are a bunch. read more

****** A follow up to the review below: I just got off the phone with Karen of Harrison Aviation in Arlington. She read my negative feedback, researched the incident, and reached out to me to apologize and assure me this was an isolated incident. Karen is an aviation professional and did an outstanding job of hearing my complaint and responding appropriately. In light of her outreach, I am looking forward to trying Harrison Aviation's full service Avgas again in the near future with the hope that the review below indeed reflects an isolated incident. *********************************** A shame I can't give Zero stars. I have two antique airplanes hangared at KFWS and typically use Harrison's self serve fuel pump on the east side complex. But last month, I installed a freshly overhauled engine in one of the airplanes and am in the midst of breaking in the new engine. The break in procedure requires absolutely minimal ground running / taxiing until the engine has at least ten hours on it, which means taxiing from my hangar to the east side self serve pump is not a good idea; doing it excessively could compromise the mechanical health of my engine and void my warranty. On the second day of the new engine's break in process, an airplane using the east side self serve fuel pump experienced a mechanical and logistical issue, resulting in access to the pump being blocked. Rather than miss a scheduled break in flight for my new engine, I elected to call Harrison's line service desk and request full service Avgas. Jason came over with the Avgas truck with a condescending attitude about my airplane and my small fuel order. He lectured me about how I would be taxiing past the west side self serve fuel pump on my way to the runway and was generally rude and discourteous. A handful of observations are in order: 1. I am aware of the location of the west side self serve fuel pump; if it would have been prudent to use this pump, I would have gladly used it rather than deal with Jason's attitude and Harrison's cat house pricing for full service Avgas; 2. The overhauled engine in my antique airplane is worth more money than Jason makes in a year; following the proper break in procedure for it is far more important than any prospective inconvenience that might be caused to Jason and his employer by having to - PERISH THE THOUGHT - provide a service to a paying customer and long time tenant in good standing of the airport; 3. I wasn't aware that Jason and Harrison Aviation were such savants regarding the logistics of aircraft servicing. Poor me! How did I survive 35 years and 25,000 accident and incident free flying hours without Jason's sage advice about fueling my little airplane??? 4. If bringing the full service Avgas truck to the other side of the airport is such a burden for Harrison, they should either not offer this service or impose a minimum fuel order for the service; I'd gladly abide by such a policy as long as I would be assured of prompt and professional service. After dealing with Jason's disrespectful behavior, I availed myself of Harrison's feedback link on their web site and asked them to respond to me via email. Here we are a week later and no response from Harrison Aviation. I checked my In Box, my Spam filter, and my Deleted links and - nothing. It is clear that Harrison is uninterested in responding to negative feedback from a customer, so I am now availing myself of a far more effective feedback loop - social media. For those of you with light airplanes and relatively modest fuel orders, please consider Harrison Aviation's many competitors throughout the Metroplex, who will hopefully be more appreciative of your business. For those of you who need advice on how best to fuel your airplane, by all means, Jason and Harrison Aviation are there to tell you exactly how little they appreciate your patronage. read more
