Killer's Cove Marina - Paddling in Harrison Hot Springs!

If you're boating on Harrison Lake make sure you check out 'Killer's Cove Marina' for boat, Jet Ski…read moreand water sports rentals. Killer's is Conveniently located on the docks just in front of Harrison Resort and Spa and is a lot cheaper than Harrison Watersports, also Killer's Cove is a family owned and operated business so you can feel good supporting it. FYI: Harrison Watersports requires a $2500 damage deposit versus the $700 Killer's charged (& refunded us). We had our choice of boats at varying rates and they gave our driver a detailed safety course with equipment and maps. They conveniently gave us the option to split up our rental time (6 hours) over a couple days or load up a redeemable card on the off chance that we didn't use up all our time on this visit. Things to know: - They won't allow you to make out of town reservations over the phone, you need to do them in person so check them out the day before you want to rent if at all possible. - The boats don't have stereos so bring your own. We were forewarned so it wasn't an issue to just bring our own ipod dock and speakers. - You can rent a 'tube' to pull behind the boat for an additional $20 a day, I highly recommend it! Us three adults had a great time with ours :) We had such an amazing day, if/when I'm back to Harrison I'll be sure to grab another boat from Killer's. The rental process was quick and painless and our day on the water was easily the most memorable of the trip.

They have kayaks and provide all the gear you need including lifejacket, paddle, paddle float, pump…read moreand rope. Using a paddle float takes some skill so unless you know what you are doing I'm not sure why they give this too you. The boats that they give you are hard to capsize. But watch out for the wake from motorboats. Many have no clue about the effect they have on a small canoe or kayak. You can't paddle far but they do allow you to go down the river which is very nice. Enjoy.

So our guide had to get out of the raft couple of times to push the raft out of rocks. in between the River Rafting adventure, we also got out of our raft to do a short hike to the water fall. We also got our pictures taken there as well. Each raft could only hold a maximum of 6 people + the guide. Lunch was included in our adventure. It costed $125 to go River Rafting but it included the wetsuit, lunch and other gears. Also they posted pictures of our River Rafting session on Facebook for us to download. We also had the option to pay $30 for a USB with all photos loaded on it. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely come back. I am thinking of next time doing Kayaking. Also for River Rafting its better to go in June (I was told).

My friends haven't done the Canyon one so it was new to them. They loved it as it was even more challenging and had more dips and rapids. I sat in the front of the raft with another friend, Lee. We got hammered by the big splash of water whenever our raft would dip down over the rocks and rapids. Our guide this time was Sam, he was great and funny. My friends can be a little 'excited' so I'm glad he was able to play along with their antics. The weather was insane yesterday. It was sunny when we drove there from Vancouver however by the time we got changed and started to take the bus to the starting point, it was snowing. Yes, that's right. It was snowing. When we got into the raft and while Sam was explaining the commands, it turned to hail and then rain. The first part of rafting, it was raining. By the time we finished, it was sunny so we had 4 seasons of weather. It made for an even better experience. There were only 2 rafts this time. Last time I went, there was 8 rafts. With only 2 rafts, it was better and more personable as we are able to joke around a bit more. They have a small sauna shack so when we got back, we basically went there to warm up. Again, I recommend coming here for rafting.

ATTENTION: BEWARE, THIS BUSINESS WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT**…read more Unfortunately - our group was racially discriminated (verbally and aggressively) while trying to spend our August long weekend with family. Such a disrespectful business, no leadership skill was present whatsoever therefore sharing our side of the story was pointless and irritating. In short, we were falsely accused of ridiculous activities and found an unauthorized charge on our credit card. During times like this, you would think we would be treated with equality. Our bathroom rights were taken away as punishment. What a joke.

Bathrooms were very clean and we were pleasantly surprised at the availability to purchase ice and firewood. I am really surprised at these other recent negative reviews posted. A group of Asian friends (I am identifying this as it was singled out on their reviews) was camping right next to us and they were having a good time and they had no issues with the site managers or staff. I would recommend this campground personally. We had a great time. There are a lot more trailers then tent camping and it was nice as tent camper not to have the crowds and lines for bathrooms. Only issue is the bathrooms are for individuals with sink, toilet and shower so if someone takes a long time getting ready (or believe it or not doing their makeup) you have to wait to pee. Great place to camp. Right at the riverside. Not a lot of tree coverage so can get hot be prepared.
