Robin took our reservation over the phone and she also was very friendly. The breakfasts were very good and it was great to hang out behind the Inn where there is a large pond. We did do a trip up to Woodstock and truthfully we were very happy that we were staying at the Whetstone Inn rather than someplace in Woodstock. Way more relaxing I think. It was our first visit to New England and it might be a while before we get back but when we do, we'll be staying at the Whetstone Inn. Go, you'll love it.

I asked David if he had vacancy (knowing there were only 3 cars total in the parking area) and he told me NO! I never asked what the rate was because I didn't care, I was going to pay whatever he requested of me. But to hear David tell me he didn't have vacancy and know this was a full blown lie was absurd to me. I would never recommend a business to anyone that treats potential customers like this. Very sad and disappointed to say the least.

She opted not to paper the walls in the busy patterns popular in period restorations, which I like. It's a great mix of original-restored and new, but everything is high quality. It is not on the main street through Keene, but West st. is still pretty busy, so you can get a little traffic noise. Nothing that kept us awake though. We had a wonderful stay, would stay there again, and recommend it. Oh, and I got to see the EF Lane rooms. Not as nice as this place.
