First time visit to the restaurant, have done take out in the past. The main dishes are very good. Enjoyed the ribs, chicken wings, and brisket. The fries were very good. Decent cole slaw. The beans came out cold which seems odd. The Mac and cheese is not special. Drinks are bottles and cans of soft drinks. It is not a large dining area, feels like most of the business is take out and delivery. I would go back and order take out when in the mood for BBQ. read more

Good brisket. Corn bread and mac and cheese so so. Beans very good. Texas toast was bread and not toasted at all. I can live with all that, but when you ask me about sauce and whether I wanted it on the side or not and I say on the side I don't expect to get 10 miles to my home and discover no sauce at all. "Pit Beef" sammich from Harry's Smokin' BBQ in Tom's River NJ. Not a true pit beef sandwich because the meat was not cooked over a charcoal pit. He smokes his meat. However, excellent nonetheless! Nice toasted roll. Generous amount of roast beef that was perfectly cooked. I will deduct points for not being a true "pit" beef but it makes up for it on taste. I have eaten at Harry's here in Toms River, a number of times. I can honestly say I am so very impressed with the delicious menu, and the staff who goes out of their way to help in any way. Enjoy chatting with Harry, too. It's a great experience to eat at good BBQ locally. I totally recommend stopping there and enjoying either a small snack or a full out meal. The staff was very good but when we walked in the place was cold. As we were eating the heat went on for 10 minutes then it got cold in the place. Had my jacket on and my wife also. Wings were just ok. Was expecting more. Ordered a side. Got there and was told they didnt have time to make it. Wont be back.

Been here twice so far. First time was great. Second time the food was also great except the pulled chicken had multiple bits of bone or something hard bits in it. Had to spit it out multiples times which ruins the experience plus being extra careful to chew every bit to make sure there wasn't more. Wasnt crazy about the fried cornbread. The chicken, Mac n cheese, potato is all good but will avoid getting pulled anything from now on, little bone bits can't be good if any get inside my insides, probably tear up something since they most likely won't get broken down by stomach acid.
