This was my second time visiting Taylor Sam's . My first visit was for breakfast, and this time I stopped in for lunch. I'll start with the burger. I ordered the Mom Burger, which is a Swiss burger topped with mushrooms on a brioche bun. It also came with a good portion of fries and a side of pickles. The burger itself was pretty solid -- good flavor and a satisfying size. At $16, the portion felt fair considering the amount of fries you get with it. One thing I noticed was an additional charge for sauces. I asked about it, and they explained that all their sauces are made in-house, which is why they charge $1 per sauce. Honestly, that makes sense when they're homemade. Now the star of the show for me was actually the drink. After looking over the menu a bit more, I decided to try the LA Metro coffee drink with almond milk. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but for $5.99, I have to say it was really good. Definitely something I'd order again. I also want to mention the customer service. The girl working at the counter was extremely nice -- probably some of the best customer service I've had in a while. She didn't rush anything, answered my questions, and was very professional and friendly. I asked about the specials, the cakes they offer, and even whether they were doing a St. Patrick's Day platter, which they are. Overall, it was a really good experience. We stopped in on Monday around 11:30 am. I got the challah french toast. It was spongy and crisp at the same time. Came with a dollop of whipped butter and a pitcher of syrup. I had a latte with vanilla syrup. Tasted great. My companion got a cauliflower dish. She loved it! There was a biscuit with pimento cheese, eggs avocado and breaded cauliflower with potatoes. We sat outside on the front porch which isn't very scenic since you're staring at a parking lot, but it was a nice day and the weather was perfect. Waited forever for my particular drink after everyone got theirs and got my water in a kid cup... (insert eye roll) The portions were huge and everyone enjoyed their breakfast! First of all, this is more of an experience than an actual breakfast. You don't have to spend as much money as I did. People shouldn't complain about the price. This isn't a mom and pop diner. At first the hostess was going to seat me towards the back, and I decided to move myself to a table by the window. They didn't have a problem with it, and a nice young man cleaned it off for me. So I'm looking at the specials and I see this cookie butter latte is a special of the month I immediately decide to get it. It had a Biscoff cookie in it! I also saw on the specials Challah French toast, which I believe is also a cookie butter theme with sliced bananas and ordered quickly so as not to look at the whole menu, and get caught up in paradox of choice. I normally use a lot of syrup, but I just used the small pitcher of syrup because the it didn't need more syrup. The portion is large, and the buttery glaze simply delectable. A delightful experience for the sweet tooth that is me. Just amazing, even the healthy banana slices. I also got a side of pork roll cooked just the way I like it. The combination of the sweet and salty of the pork roll and the freshness of the bananas,combined combined with the crumbled Biscoff cookies made for an incredible explosion of flavors. I can't believe I ate almost every last bite!There was a lot of whipped cream in the latte. I probably would've cut back on that a little bit and put more latte in there but still all in all an amazing experience. I will definitely be back. I will probably order less food next time. I've been here before; service was good as was the food (had breakfast--it was a weekday). Tried again on a Saturday (it's been about a year/year & 1/2 since I've last visited). You walk up to the podium and you have to check in on an iPad. I prefer someone to greet and talk to me so strike 1; the place was SO LOUD and kids throwing themselves on the floor screaming. Okay, I get it if she just brings me new toast, but if the butter won't melt, it's still cold toast. Everything else is good. The place has bad acoustics; very noisy. A lovely hidden gem that serves breakfast and lunch all day, I was in complete heaven when I found out, I could get pot roast for breakfast! I had previously gotten lunch takeout from Taylor Sam's and would pass it all the time on the way to Ocean Medical Center. I was excited to finally dine in for Sunday brunch. The interior was larger than I expected and outdoor dining is available, but I did see some people waiting for a table during our meal. The interior is cute and the menu had many options. My boyfriend ordered the spicy mango lemonade and let's bowl, while i got the bravacado. The lemonade exceeded our expectation with its tajin rim and lime slices on top. The drink was refreshing and the right amount of sour and sweet in my opinion. It does require some mixing so that the mango syrup doesn't just sit on the bottom. The presentation of the food was beautiful and exceeded my expectations. My bravacado toast consisted of home fries and two sunny side up eggs on top of a bed of arugula and avocado toast. It was delicious. My only complaint was that I wish there was more avocado as it seemed that it was just avocado spread. My boyfriend's Let's Bowl was good, but had a couple more issues. He switched out chicken for shrimp, but this decision added an additional $4, but there were a total of four shrimp. He was given the option of either grilled or blackened, which was nice. This was my first time going here. A friend of mine lives in the area, so when I was looking up breakfast/brunch places and asked him about it, he immediately approved. I thought that was a good sign from the very beginning, lol. The food here ended up being pretty good. I ordered the avocado toast, and my friend ordered the prime. I liked my avocado toast, and the egg was made perfectly. Was it it beat avocado toast? No, but it was still good. This wasn't my friends first time here, and he said the prime never disappoints, so I assume it was good lol (he cleaned his plate, so it had to be. The fresh squeezed oj is very good. I'd recommend you try it if you're not in the mood for coffee. The service was pretty good. The people here are nice, and they've got a great little brunch vibe going on here. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't seat you until all members of your party were present. They're very strict about it. My family loves this place. The food is consistently very good, I get consistently the best service even better than a lot of higher end food places. They are great with my kids and we always leave happy. The lone knock is it tends to be on the louder side so if you have kids with sensory issues that could be something but they have outdoor seating too that isn't as noisy. Don't believe the noise about it being expensive. Everything has gotten more expensive and the margins are big to begin with in restaurants. I'll pay maybe 20 bucks more for a meal there compared to other places but it's well worth it. However today they got my order wrong and when I called to hopefully rectify it - the manager said she could only give me 50% off another sandwich!! I was pissed. Love Taylor Sam's! They have a wide range of specialty breakfast foods that I feel are pretty unique to the establishment. I am obsessed with the farmhouse decor that they have on the inside, as well as their coffee and bakery stand. The waiters have been working there for a long time and are extremely friendly and helpful. The last time I was here I was served by the same waiter and that was over five years ago. On a Sunday morning, my girlfriend and I decided to grab some breakfast before an event. We stumbled upon Taylor Sam's since it was very close to our event and decided to try it out. Upon entering, we could see that it was busy, yet we were seated right away which was great. They had a special that included two drinks, in which I chose the spicy mango lemonade. After ordering this, we ordered the Bravacado and Let's Bowl. I opted for the blackened shrimp instead of blackened chicken for an extra $3.99 and was also offered avocado, which was extra but was not specified. My girlfriend liked her dish but wished it had more avocado in it since I had to give her some of mine because there was only a small amount in hers. My dish was also great, and I loved the chipotle mayo sauce and crispy tortilla strips. However, for an extra $4, I only got four pieces of shrimp, which in my opinion was not worth it, and I would've most likely stuck to the blackened chicken if I knew this beforehand. Would never go back again. The manager I'm assuming or owner whoever they were are so rude to their employees and honestly just speak disgusting in ear shot of patrons. No idea how they still have employees as they cannot be paid enough to get harassed all day long. They do not respect the ones who are making the food or handling it to the tables enough to create any decent environment.
