Incredible doc...Excellent!!…read more Having worked as a Senior Physician Recruiter for many years, my requirements for a physician come from a trained background of what to look for and what to be wary of. I know how to check a background, I know what a thorough exam and appointment is, and I know what rushing a patient through in order to see more patients a day for money means to the patient. Additionally, I can recognize better equipment and practices. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. I am, therefore, beyond happy to recommend him to anyone needing an excellent physician in Austin. He immediately addressed the issue in his office rather than referring me to a dermatologist to do the dirty work. I truly did need immediate attention and he gave it to me. I can't speak highly enough of him and his assistant for bravely going where no one should have to go. I hope this does not sound like an exaggeration, but I feel like I owe my life to him. It has only been a day, and I'm still a mess, but I have to express my gratitude to this incredible doctor. I also want to publicly apologize for cursing as he cut into it. Terrible experience! Called to get a Referral, they said it may take between 24-72 hours. Called 24…read morehours later to check on the referral only to be told they couldn't work on it because they needed the name of the Dr. before they could proceed. Called 24 hours later with the name of the Dr. only to be told they're "working" on it but now i was told it was gonna take up to 10 days. The communication is terrible and someone may tell you something one day and someone else is gonna tell you something completely different the next day. I wish these things could be said the first time instead of having to call 3 different days to get 3 different answers. The communication is terrible and seems like they don't know what they're doing. I wouldn't have an issue if these things were told in the first call i made. Ive been needing PT and its been beyond a hassle to get a referral after they recommended someone. I had a good experience in my first visit but this just voids that good visit. If you decide to go with them, make sure to ask every question and find out everything before hand so there's no surprised later.

If you want a primary care Dr who has no time to take an appointment with you Ambler is your guy…read more If you want your primary care Dr. to block your MRI that you and another Dr concluded that you need (you and this other Dr. decided this because your Dr Ambler was not avail for two months and you are in so much pain there is no way you can wait to see him) because the pain is radiating down to your hand. BCBS (zero stars for them) denies your MRI but you have a nurse friend who says just ask the attending physician for a medical necessity letter so you can challenge the denial of the MRI. That usually works... but no, my Dr. Ambler says I do not need one. What? you were not even in the room Dr Ambler... I pay for everything out of pocket anyway... why are you not sending my request for a letter to the attending physician? Moving to ADC... I'm done with Austin Regional and Ambler...

No problem, right? Then the nurse opens with you need a to give a urine sample. Well I wasn't told that so I went to the bathroom when I woke up. As for the Dr. comes in no more than 10 min. After I said I have had some GI issues he said " there was nothing he could do" not let me write a script to a GI doctor. I will be changing primary care immediately. Update - since this post the manager has reached out and apologized for experience on 4/24/26. I went for years without ever going to a doctor for routine checkups until I had a medical wake up call, that could of been a very bad event. Since then I have had testing and follow up from Dr Geyer on a regular basis and my health has turned around. The visits with him and his nurses are friendly, professional, timely and they always take the time to explain things to me. I never have to worry about prescription refills as he takes care of that while I'm in his office. I love the reminders they put out so that there is never a reason to forget about your appointment.
