We trusted Dr. Kim with ongoing care, which is why this situation was so disappointing…read more We made a 2-hour round trip to a follow-up appointment only to be unexpectedly informed by Ying, the PA, that Dr. Kim was no longer with TriCity Pain, and that May 24, 2024 had apparently been his last day. Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

He ordered a MRI and prescribed Gabapentin. I filled the prescription but the list of possible side effects were terrifying. I called the office and informed them that I would not be taking that particular medication and would another alternative to relieve the terrible pain that I was in. I was informed he would not recommend or prescribed anything until after the MRI. There was zero concern for my pain nor any follow-up after I did the MRI which showed several issues. MY GP saw the MRI and stated that my pain must be intense and it was. Dr. Mancera obviously did not care about the pain due to his lack of follow-up or willingness to prescribe anything else but a medication that after research I did not feel safe taking. I felt unheard and uncared for. I would not recommend.

Really not a particularly good practice…read more I had a few procedures done to relieve some chronic back pain subsequent to surgery. Although they seemed to know what they were doing, I didn't get very much relief. Billing was an absolute nightmare however. I got bills that didn't make any sense. Spent hours and hours trying to get it straightened out. After months of tremendous frustration, they got a woman who was actually able to help with it. They had made several BIG mistakes (billing twice for the same thing, etc.), that were always in THEIR favor. Eventually, got it squared away (I ended up owing over $2,000 less than they were trying to get from me). By then treatment was complete and their new "suggestions" weren't terribly helpful (for instance, a $2,500 back brace which wouldn't allow me to sit in my chair at work). Just not very good at what they do and terrible at billing. I'm very glad that I'm not dealing with them anymore. There are plenty of other really good Pain Management Practices around.

The entire medical community talks about the former APA Clinic-even when someone is NOT in the medical field. Austin does want to know: WHERE IS Dr Feferman? I thought I was done, but OH NO. I was given an amount much lower than my supposed total (which had included balance billing and significantly higher charges)-I paid cash to end it. THEN old claims previously processed as Out of Network (and part of my payment above) were resubmitted by "someone" as In Network, so this clinic collected double. NOT NICE. For those who hope this place is nice and has competent staff now-I hope so too. However, If they are so desperate or incompetent as to 1. Harass me for payment (no worries I save EVERYTHING), 2. Well, this new doc, Brennan Frank, is an arrogant, egotistical, condescending a**hole. Yes he is. I spent 10 minutes with this yuppie and was ready to strangle someone. Two and a half months later, I was able to regain my range of motion and strength in the affected area as well. I owe my recovery to Dr. Talia Strahler, she was wonderful, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout this entire process! I would guess that people oftentimes have questions if they'll ever fully recover from comparable surgeries or feel that the process might be too difficult. I had similar thoughts and feelings, but once I got here they all went away. This recovery was definitely a team effort and I thank everyone so much for being the absolute best. It was such a welcoming environment, the staff is easy to communicate with. Scheduling is very easy and flexible, it's wonderful to get reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Again, everyone is so friendly that oftentimes the work you're doing doesn't really feel like work because you're being checked-in on and/or there is great music playing in the background. This was an experience that I will not forget, nor the people involved! I know that if I ever need physical therapy again that I'll come back here in a heartbeat. I wish nothing but the best to everyone there and future patients!
