Before you hire Fayette Septic, STOP & read this carefully. What started as a simple septic repair…read morebecame a 5-month ordeal full of vague communication, unexpected charges, unprofessional behavior, & my family displaced from our home. This isn't just a bad experience. It's a cautionary tale that could save you stress & money. In March 2025, we contacted Fayette Septic for a septic failure. They responded quickly & gave a written quote for about $5,500, clearly marked as a quote. We agreed to proceed. Fayette Septic said they'd handle the permit & scheduling. Then problems began. For months, communication was inconsistent & vague. While a couple of delays were on my end, most delays & confusion were due to their lack of clear updates & us chasing them for info. Finally, we got a random automated reminder at 6 p.m. on a Sunday in late June for work the next day at an undisclosed time. That Monday at 8:30 a.m., the crew showed ready to work. They were polite but never spoke to me about issues or changes all day. After finishing, a crew member said an invoice was emailed. It was nearly $1,000 over the original quote with no notice or explanation. I called the office & spoke with Shelby, the most professional person in this ordeal. She said the price rose due to extra materials required by the county. Shelby said she'd ask the owner, Sonya, to call me. Sonya never called. Instead, Shelby left a voicemail saying she spoke to Sonya & would honor part of the price error, adjusting the invoice to about $6,000. I emailed Sonya, pointing out the quote was never amended & that Georgia law prohibits retroactive price increases without disclosure. Sonya THEN decided to call me, repeatedly, when I was unavailable & sent a text insisting it was an estimate, not a quote, blaming the county. After seeing the tone of her text, I kept all further correspondence in writing. I requested the permit from Environmental Health myself. It required the extra materials all along. Fayette Septic never told us about a price increase during the 4-month planning period, but billed us after the job was complete. When I disputed the charges citing consumer laws, Sonya threatened legal action & a lien on my home. In every email I told her I'd pay the quoted price in full. After lots of back and forth, she changed the original quote on their website to an estimate, said she wasn't going to fight over $500 but still refused to honor the quote, adding a $160+ credit card fee, never mentioned before. The timing felt petty & vindictive. After more emails, Sonya agreed to reduce the credit card fee to $90, representing 3% of the amount I paid by card, with the rest paid by check. I still urged her to honor the quote, but she ignored me. Even then, they didn't update the invoice as promised, & I had to follow up repeatedly. The repair passed inspection. The crew was respectful but not communicative. Shelby was professional. But none of that excuses how the owner handled things. Sonya was unprofessional, defensive, & misleading. She showed no integrity or professionalism. Even when I raised legal concerns, she refused to acknowledge the law & dismissed me. Bottom line: The written quote wasn't honored. The price increased without consent. Fees were added without disclosure. The quote was reclassified as an estimate only after I disputed it. The owner responded with legal threats, not solutions. In the end, after being displaced for 5 months and fighting a month-long dispute, I paid the original amount plus a $90 fee I never agreed to, just to be done with it. What might appear to be a victory was really the result of relentless persistence on my part. Until this company acquires competent & ethical leadership, do not waste your time, money, or energy. If you still decide to use Fayette Septic, familiarize yourself with consumer protection laws, keep it in writing & stand your ground.

Reminded the crew when they came that the prior service they had installed a riser and pointed out the area of the riser so don't dig up the yard. I could write a novel on the issues but to hit the high points: - no supervision from the Project Manager (Eddie) on the job - the workers dug in the wrong place; did the wrong job that was asked - caught our well line with their back hoe and yanked out the line from the well (we are still trying to get this fixed properly) - didn't couple the pipes together properly and buried the pipe - twice! thank goodness we saw the leak through the dry dirt - they put in IRRIGATION LINES instead of SCHEDULE 40 for the work they did on our septic system - Lied about issues/damages done but we have security cameras so we had everything on video and could show the PM - Hit our fence with their equipment - never told us but since we have cameras we could see what happened - The Project Manager came to review the work and started to make repairs once - he NEVER came back. - The list goes on but the problems don't... even today my husband is out trying to still find and fix the leak(s) from their repair - We did have to have a different septic company come to do the original job than needed fixing. That got fixed but now we are just fixing the issues caused BY BISHOP-THEIM I know it's hard to find a good company to work on your septic systems but PLEASE look somewhere else. I know their website looks professional but they are not. I'm sure we could have escalated more through the ranks of the company but at a certain point, you just want to cut and run. I hope this post saves someone out there the headache this company has caused us.
