Avoid this dealership since they no longer have a Buick approved Service Dept. Any warranty issues are you stuck with the problem and they will NOT reach out to GM for help. We had a Turo problem with our Buick Encore that was replaced once, prior to our buying the car, and now it has failed again. It seems this is an on going problem with the Encore and the Envision. Beware they offer no help and charge to diagnosis the vehicle. Will not contact GM to help resolve this issue. Rude service Mgr. did not listen and talked over me just want your money. When you visit the Harvard Chevy website, be aware that the inventory for used cars are most likely not at their location. We saw three vehicles we wanted to see, drove from Twin Lakes Wi. When we arrived, we were politely told that they move inventory around their 20 plus locations. We asked to have them brought from the other stores, and was told it was on a recall and needed to stay in Dixon IL until it was fixed. One of the other vehicles was "too rough" for us. Store was clean, salesman was polite and apologetic. I'm sure he gets this a lot. My daughter was very disappointed the cars they advertised were not there. read more

So it's simple...Here is our experience with Harvard Chevy. Take it for what its worth. CHOOSE someone else to do your business with. Last April/May 2020, went in to purchase a truck. Used... Sales rep Jake says they had a great used truck coming in that night and would be available the next day after it's owner finalized their trade in. Say the truck that night.. Great looking truck, drove well with a few issues needed fixing prior to us taking ownership. Next day, repairs were done. Went back and forth with sales REP Jake about price and concerns. Jake looks at us and says this is an awesome truck, you'll never see a better one at this price. Jake told us one thing and changed the contract. We asked for 60 months under $400, he snuck in 72months for $380. Took the truck home.. Still good. 1 week later, service air bag light. Brought it in, ANGELO the service coordinator had it looked at. Damaged wiring harness. FIxed, no charge. 2 days later after fix, air bag light on again. Took it in. Angelo looked at it. Said same harness wasn't repaired all the way down to the damaged wires. Fixed no charge. Same week. radio going out. Brought it in, Angelo, bad radio. Said they'll (Chevy) will cover it. Mind you I bought the extended warranty but Angelo said if they started filing claims already it would make the shop look bad. 1 week later. I'm losing air in 2 tires. Looked at the front tires. 1 had a plug in the side wall (NOT SAFE) the other had cracks down the tread. Chevy wouldn't do anything. Had to buy $800 worth of tires for a truck i had for 3 weeks. AGAIN keep in mind THEY are suppose to do a 117 point inspection of the vehicle. 1 month later truck needs a new transmission. $4400.... Warranty company questioning why only 300 miles driven on truck and needs a new transmission..... Transmission replaced by Harvard Ford A+ dealership!!!! 3 weeks later bad alternator. FIXED! 1 month later misfire and bad oil pressure sensor. 2 days later bad O2 sensors for fuel bank 1! My wife gave Harvard Chevy a bad internal review due to these reasons: 1) Martin(GM) told us for the Air Bag light (Safety Mind You) they relied on a lower level tech for the fix. 2nd guy was a master tech 2) Angelo didn't want to warranty anything out due to the shop looking bad. (His words) 3)Martin (GM) told us he'd take care of us and that Angelo should never had said those things. *We have a 2016 Chevy Malibu. Bought new tires from Harvard Chevy with a warranty. Needed to have tires rotated. 1/7 called Angelo at Chevy. Asked about if the warranty was good at any Chevy or just theirs. He stated just their location. I said I needed to schedule an appointment to have my tires rotated. Angelo said that him and his service center staff NO LONGER wanted to service our vehicles. I asked about the warranty we purchased and asked how to use it if weren't able to be serviced there. Angelo stated "I'm not sure what to tell you" and HUNG UP. I called the GM Martin the next day. 1/8. Explained the situation and asked if he was aware of the situation and Angelo's decision. Martin stated NO and he'd look into it! Martin called me back 15 minutes later. Martin stated that the service center will no longer be servicing our 2 vehicles. I asked why, Martin stated it was because we (the customers) gave them a bad review. Martin's words were "The service area is Angelo's DOJO, and I have to respect his decision". He stated Angelo would cut us a check for the warranty and mail it to us! SO YEAH, i wish i could give this location 0 stars but I can't. This location needs HONEST sales reps, a service center focused on CUSTOMERS, and a GM that has a back bone to stand up for the customer's when his employees are WRONG! DON'T BUY, SELL, OR DO BUSINESS HERE Less than 9 months, less than 5000 miles driven, and over $6000 in repairs! read more

I am writing this review due to an experience I had applying for a customer service job at the Harvard location. I am bilingual and sent my resume. Someone from human resources set me up with an interview. I had an interview and drove thirty minutes to get there, waited fifteen minutes for the GM to come and get me for the interview. He took one look at me (he is Hispanic and the dealership had Hispanics running it, as I was the only Caucasian there besides the customers). His first question is "Where are you from?" I told him Loves Park and it took me half hour to get there. He sat down and said, :"The girl in charge of the department doing the hiring is out sick. I have to schedule you for a second interview next week. I will be contacting you Tuesday of next week." Tuesday came. Around 1 pm, I called the GM and he wasn't available. I left a message. I sent an email to the HR girl for an update, and no reply. On Wednesday, I already knew because of my race, I was not getting a call back. I fired off another email to the human resources coordinator and told her how unprofessional that was for me to go through all that just to get swept under a rug. She said she was forwarding my email to her boss in HR. Next, the GM is harassing me (he must have got my email from the HR lady I was communicating with), sending me emails and lying about what and when he said it. He even accused me of being the racist (I have been married to my Hispanic husband for 27 years, which is why I am bilingual). Beware of this place. They are all for and all about Hispanics only. If they conduct job interviews like that, imagine what they are doing with your personal information. If I keep getting emails from the GM, I will get a restraint on him. read more

Went to buy a new truck. Nothing in stock. Was given a quote prior to ordering a new truck. Three months later, truck arrives from factory. GM tells me a monthly payment $200 more than I was quoted. Said rates changed. No the didn't. I did the research. Just another example of trying to make a ton of cash during the truck shortage. Greed. I lease and get a new truck every three years. Had bought 6 trucks from my previous dealership. Greed. Too bad really. read more

Poor service dept...broke a vacuum line and mended it with rubber hose,instead of replacing a $25 fitting...When the car broke down,10-20-14, I am out a tow bill,days pay and now have to pay another place $330 to fix what they BROKE. They won't admit what they broke and make it right.....I wouldn't recommend this place at all read more

This has been the WORST experience my husband and I have ever had. This dealership does not communicate with each other let alone with us. we had an appt to see a truck that no one ever told us until we were negotiating a price that already had a deposit on it. they told us if we paid a deposit we would have next chance to buy it so we did. The financing didn't go through for the other person and they were going to run or information on Tuesday am. Then nobody we had worked with on Saturday and Monday was there on Tuesday. nobody followed up with us to let us know what was going on. then when my husband spoke with the asst manager he didnt even put the financing through for the right amount and screwed things up with the process for the bank. this was day 4 of trying to buy this truck. We told the dealership FROM THE BEGINNING that it would be going through my husband business acct. they said no problem. then on top of the asst manager not giving the right information to the bank supposedly this was an issue. The asst manager was supposed to speak with the bank Wednesday morning and get it straightened out. My husband told him that he was speaking with another place regarding financing-since they had screwed everything up with their banks- if it wouldn't work. and then THEY SOLD THE TRUCK! while we had a deposit! the real kicker? they sold the truck on Tuesday! they killed his credit when they had already sold the truck. nothing but a circus from start to finish. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! BEWARE! If I could give a zero star I would. I've been in the customer service industry for years and this has been a despicable experience. read more

Purchased a certified used car from them. The staff was wonderful. However, 5 days later I knew something was up with the steering. The give of the option of returning the car but because I liked the car I chose to fix it. Over $1,000 later and 3 months when they replaced the power steering apparently the line was not mounted correctly fell against the exhaust burned a hole through the line and now $400 later I have to get that fix. I was anxious about purchasing a used car and now I know why. The most frustrating part is the latest problem was due to mechanics error yet I paid the price . I had an issue with my Chevy Silverado while on a road trip. I called Harvard Chevy Buick GMC on a Saturday morning. They told me to bring my truck in, quickly diagnosed the issue, and even picked up a part for the repair at a dealership 30 minutes away. My car was fixed within several hours of dropping it off. On top of everything, they were able to give me a loaner vehicle to use while my car was being repaired. Extremely professional and courteous during every step of the process.
