Too much money for gross food. I'd wait for Hermiston or Biggs depending on route. We were hungry on our yearly trip to the coast and decided to pick up something from the deli and some grocery items. The kids and my wife were sick 20 minutes after eating the chicken . So expensive, it's out of touch and it's the only grocery store in town! It's ridiculous.

It's a very well stocked small grocery store that is extremely clean and well kept. The meat section is always loaded with nice cuts and we have purchased large prime ribs that were special ordered for us. All the employees are very polite and the best thing is if there are 2 people in line they call for back up cashiers. read more

As a resident in town for almost two decades I would not recommend, it is immoral to give money to this establishment. The prices of the items are very inaccessible, and intended to be used as a weapon against the local community. The owner has admitted that the prices are in fact ridiculous, which is justified by the lack of other grocery stores within a twenty five mile radius. Take note as the owner is quite aware of this, and is the premise of their income. It's why the owner resides in another town, because they know their business would not work when given an even playing field. This is very indicative of their character and giving to this business is enabling said behavior. Purchasing groceries at this store legitimizes, justifies, and encourages theft. This store repays It's loyal impoverished community by making food a luxury. Take this from a resident of Boardman for twenty five years ; the new dollar stores opening have been a godsend. The community has been thriving since. Family Dollar and Dollar General have the same products but cheaper. I don't know why people still go here it doesn't serve the town. read more

Came by the tent sale today and Harvest town foods had beautiful bedding plants. I was able to bring my empty pots from last year and they potted my pots with the plants I purchased. read more

I've lived in a few small towns and I've really come to enjoy this little grocery store. Sure it's not as cheap as Walmart or as fancy as Safeway, but you know what? They are here and Safeway and Walmart sure aren't. Harvest foods in Boardman was open and available when I needed some milk for breakfast, they had heavy cream when I needed it for thanksgiving. And they have a candy aisle when I'm needing some movie treats. They have rotisserie chickens that are hot and yummy and I don't have to drive to Costco in tricities when I feel like one. They have a lot of little things that you might suddenly need and maybe don't feel like driving an hour for. Yes their prices are a little higher but when you consider the cost of driving an hour to get something from hermiston I'd say an extra .20cents on a can of soup is totally worth it. Small stores have to charge more in order to survive. It's a fact of life not a punishment for the local populace. I think there food is wonderful. I'm sure there are problems occasionally but heck, my meat from Walmart was moldy this morning and I just bought it so no place is perfect. I say give it a try, they are nice and it's handy. Thanks for being here little store I really appreciate you . Oh and they have an awesome pharmacy in their store run by the local health clinic Columbia River Health and it's even open on Saturdays. This is about the only place to get groceries in Boardman. That being said, it's a pretty good store. The prices on staples are high and they don't have some items, such as whipped butter, but I found bargains in produce and meat. Their fried chicken is very good. The people who work there are friendly. I camped by the river for three weeks, so I made several visits and I was pleased. read more

Check your food before you buy. When I got home I realized the onion and bread I bought we're moldy! All the strawberries in the store were covered in mold, why are they still on the shelf? They are also pretty pricey, better off driving to Hermiston. read more

Horrible customer service. It seems people who work there hate their jobs.....they don't acknowledge customers, talk to one another while ignoring the customers. I want to support local businesses but the lack of great customer services motivated me to drive to Hermiston for groceries! I've been several times and the service is horrible! read more

This is literally the worst market I have ever shopped at. From the first time we went there we had a terrible experience. We just moved into town and literally had no food essentials to eat. Sure we were checking out close to closing time, but the girl was a complete jerk. She banged our food around in the bag and when we asked her about an event in town where we were unsure of the location she acted very snotty and said she had no idea what that was or what we were talking about. Today I go in to buy a couple items to make a cake and saw super cheap cheese. Their prices are so high that when I see $1.99 cheese I wonder why. The sell buy/best buy date was 13 days ago! I said, "Wow," to myself and then told the guy at the front. After I said it was the sale one he acted rude and said, "Yeah, that is why it is a sticker item. It is out of date." Who wants to pay $1.99 for old cheese??? It better be cheaper than that!!! Not to mention the fact that I was paying with my card and he acted like I couldn't possibly pay them faster. The screen didn't show any more action on my part. He had to do something on HIS register. I get home and want to talk to the manager on the phone since I didn't think my first experience was the worst ever, but now I'm tired of being treated rudely and made to feel like an idiot in front of other customers. Apparently the manager was the man that was rude to me and he "apologized" for being so mean and I told him I don't think it was appropriate for the outdated cheese to still be there and he pretty much told me that people actually come in and ask for it (sale items) and that he would try and make a banner to make it more clear. Not only are the prices high for the lack of quality, but the service is awful. I will not go there anymore, even if I need the littlest thing. I would rather support Walmart or some huge monster corporation than the monster at Select. Thanks, but no thanks. -10 from me. read more
