Other times they were ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. The hygienists that have worked on my teeth have all been quite friendly and knowledgeable. I was much more comfortable with the staff in this office than I was at the coast dental in Lakeland. What impressed me most about this location was when i first went I didn't have dental insurance anymore. When I told them this, they immediately marked the prices way down on a lot of the services. Wow! thanks! I still have to pay $20 for a tube of prescription toothpaste, though. The actual office itself is in better condition than the Lakeland location, too. Seems a bit newer. My biggest complaint would be that they play muzak in the waiting room AND have the volume on on the TV. WTF!? I had a cleaning in April 2026, which lasted approximately 15-20 minutes. My next cleaning was originally scheduled for July. Because I work, I schedule these appointments carefully around my work hours. When I arrived, the office was having issues with its system and asked me to complete the medical questionnaire again on a tablet. By the time they finally got everything working, I had to leave and return to work without receiving my cleaning. The office later contacted me to reschedule, and I specifically rescheduled the cleaning for August 31 at 8:00 a.m. When I arrived, I noticed that I had received appointment notifications for both 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. When I questioned this at the front desk, I was told one appointment was for my cleaning and the other was for "mandatory" X-rays. This was never explained to me when the appointment was scheduled, nor had I agreed to X-rays every six months. Had I been told in advance that additional services and appointment time were being added, I could have addressed that before arriving. After waiting approximately 20 minutes without being seen, I left, again without receiving the cleaning I had scheduled. At this point, I find the office extremely disorganized. I've now made two separate trips for a routine cleaning and left both times without receiving one. When patients are arranging appointments around their work schedules, their time should be respected. Between the lack of communication, scheduling issues, long waits, and what I consider high costs for the level of service provided, I cannot recommend this office.

Dr. Brand told me that when he sees some of these people and hears about the recommended work, he doesn't see a need for some of it. So, if you are going to a dentist other than Dr. Brand and it's suggested to you that you need a lot of work done and for what sounds like a lot of money, schedule a trip to Dr. Brand's and have him take a look and give a second opinion. It could save you some money and any other inconveniences. Everyone at his office is very friendly and personable, and as far as I can tell his practice has a sterling reputation. When Martha (Dental Assistant) took me back to get my xrays started, she was very kind and explained everything step by step and made sure to check my comfort level with the bitewing xrays each time. Kim, the dental hygienist, then came in and took measurements of my gums. I was almost SHOCKED to hear the numbers she was calling out were not even CLOSE to the ones my last dentist claimed I had. (My last dentist, who I saw a year ago, claimed I have pockets of 5 to 6 mm and that I had bone loss and Dr. Du Lac said she found ZERO bone loss and pockets of 1 to 3 mm in depth (which is normal)). So they got major points for honesty and not trying to make me pay hundreds of dollars for periodontal root scaling and planning. Dr. Du Lac came in and welcomed me and we talked about the things she would be going over. She did a full head and neck exam and checked my teeth to make sure everything checked out and it did. It was such a breath of fresh air to have a dentist that I already felt comfortable with and in addition to that she is HONEST and trustworthy. Thank you so much to Dr. Du Lac and her staff for, in my experience and opinion, the best dentist visit I have had in a long time. I filed a claim with the insurance company and Lake Mary Dental did not even have the decency to respond to Delta Dental. So they just closed the case per State law after 30 days. I would not go there, unless you are foolish enough to be charged for many extra (non-insurance covered items), like mouthwash, liquid before and after a regular teeth cleaning to ease the trauma of a regular teeth cleaning???
