A unique concept Harvey Nichols store located in Birmingham's The Mailbox complex - Birmingham is a city with some fantastic department stores including a Selfridges store which is probably even better than their flagship London - Oxford Street location, but perhaps one of the unsung heroes of the Birmingham department store game is this one. Located over multiple floors, the store is spacious, it feels modern and cool like it has recently been refurbished. They have a nice food selection including a bar and brasserie with a decent menu, although it is a little expensive this has to be expected to a degree as it is more of a high-end store. I do feel to match the high-end nature of the place, the staff could have stood out more and perhaps they could have had more staff members in all areas of the store as coming in on a higher level can sometimes leave someone confused or getting lost, but the store, in general, is pretty decent to navigate for the key areas which are labelled anyway. One of my favourite Harvey Nichol's stores with good facilities and a good location, it stands out also due to its' modern features - but issues with the layout and service hold it back to just a four-star rating and a pretty awesome place to mark my 500th review of 2019. read more
High end shopping at its finest with what looks like a beautiful setting to eat and drink. Harvey Nichols Birmingham is a shop/restaurant that oozes luxury. This is not a place that I would consider to be 'very me' but after looking around I would be tempted to go and eat here. I hear good things about the food and most importantly hear that there are always good discounts on groupon and other discount site. Ling....(Yelp Discount Queen) if you hear of any maybe we should pay this place a visit ;) I literally loved some of the spring/summer looks on the mannequins. There was a heavily patterned bomber jacket that I would consider not going out for a month to own.......pricy but a lot of the stuff is SO nice that you could be persuaded to part with a large proportion of your monthly wage to own them.....the temptation was real haha. Even though I will not be rushing back here I love that Birmingham caters to the people that want ultra high end and cutting edge brands. Maybe one day one of those jackets will be mine.......one day! read more
They actually have a proper sale where you can grab some super insane bargains - I'm talking like up to 50% off on some goods. Selfridges or even harrods in London would never do that for us! Harvey Nichols always has an amazing selection of designer goods, if thats what your into. They also have some great things in for christmas from decoration and gifts, which are usually cheaper in price and they are seasonal items. This is the place to go is your looking for something special for someone. Staff are hit and miss some are super friendly and some are just down right snotty looking down on customers like they are pheasants. They usually try to engage in conversation, but when your being treated like your not wanted this isn't easy. They have a champagne bar and offer afternoon tea and some small meals. read more

The store is going through a bit of a make-over at the moment. Generally I don't really look at the clothes as they are a bit pricey, however, something you can find a few bargains in the January sales:) I do however love the food section. It's only small but I have found so many presents here over the years. The staff and really lovely too:) The afternoon tea isn't bad either if you fancy a bit of self-indulgence:) read more
This Brand New Branch opened on July 31st 2015 replacing the previous branch at the front of The Mailbox. There's a wine shop, a bar, a food market and a Glynn Purnell curated restaurant to the left of the entrance. The bar opens until 11pm Sunday-Thurs and 12.30am Friday/Saturday The ceilings seem pretty low but there's lots of interesting areas to look at, a tech department, a medium sized menswear section, a beauty department and a large ladieswear department. A sweeping curved staircase leads to beauty rooms which I wasn't brave enough to attempt to climb. Take a look around, try not to look too scruffy. At least 1 person from the store spoke to me in each department so expect to be spoken to but don't feel intimidated. You are exploring after all. It lost a star for having no real visible windows! read more
I do shop in Harvey Nichols, but to be honest I'd rather go elsewhere. They have a large selection of items from leading and exceptional brands, whether your after exquisite limited edition tshirts, jumpers, jeans, tops, shoes, accessories such as sunglasses and fragrances, to beauty and a cafe, they sell high end fashion here, which rivals a lot of the stores in the Bullring, however, I always find the items over priced and the service is better elsewhere. Every time I visit, if I am just looking for a present or browsing, the shop assistants try and push their store card on me. Yes, a 10% saving on your 1st purchase with the card is nice, but I don't want one, and have no intention of applying. Why can't I just browse, look and buy if I choose, without having to pay attention to her target! They do have inspiring fashion shows here, and you get told about them first if your a store card holder. However, with all the press in Birmingham it's quite easy to find out about what's going on. I like the cafe and they have nice treats. The Winter Christmas shop is a must! However, unless you really need that special purchase, buy it during the Boxing day sales, I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Good selection with decent service. I personally don't shop here, my wife however drags me here on a bi-weekly basis. My only problem with this place is the few snotty shop assistants who look people up and down when they come in, I have no idea why they are on their high horses when they are just gophers for customers. Sorry for the rant lol I just note who does this and make their lives he'll by making them get things for my missus. read more
