I was always scared of getting braces. Nothing had changed whenever my mother brought me to Harwell and (Harwell) at the time, but the doctors and the nurses there showed us exactly what would happen, and my fear diminished. I still have braces, though they continue to tell me "maybe next app you'll get them off." To be honest I don't want to get them off. I feel a lot more confident to smile with them on. The staff and the doctors at H&C are always polite and caring towards their patients, as far as I've ever seen. If I could say one thing that they could improve, it would be telling the patients exactly what they're doing to them during every appointment. A lot of times I sit wide-mouthed wondering what they're doing to me. Once they even took a file and ran it through my teeth without telling me what they were doing. Still, I would recommend them to any and everybody I meet that may need braces. It has been an overall pleasing experience. read more

I recently finished two years of treatment at Harwell and Cook. First, I will say I really like the Dr's there. They seem knowledgeable and kind. However, the staff is a major problem. My experience has been miserable at this office and I cringe every time I think about going back. The staff are so young and inexperienced, always changing, and do not seem to care about the patient in front of them at all. I have tried to show grace, but each visit is the same horrible treatment from the staff. I have paid this office for myself and 3 of my children to have Invisalign or braces. That is well over $15,000, and I have been treated so awful. The staff cause painful mistakes, hand the Dr the wrong tools, and give conflicting information. One girl could not spell and had other staff spelling for her in order to note my account, and the last time one girl hit me in the head with the Xray jacket. I am older and have back problems, none the less the staff will always lean the chair all the way down where the gravity pulls my back. I will ask nicely if they can put it up just a little and I am treated like I am being the most difficult patient. These things alone are not bad individually , but when it is repeated every visit, it culminates to a really bad experience for a really large amount of money. I would recommend going to another orthodontist until the Dr's are able to find good staff and train them properly. read more

Terrible customer service. Spent thousands of dollars on my child's orthodontic care. Her retainer we just noticed got bent. They said it falls outside of a one year warranty that we never heard of. They want us to pay almost $2000 to fix it. Don't take your kids here they're gonna rip you off charge you a bunch of money upfront and then not follow through with any kind of support or help. Our first visit to Harrell and Cook Orthodontics was very pleasant. The Dr's and staff communicated well with organizing a plan of care for my daughter. She started out in braces when she was in 6th grade. Not all her adult teeth had grown in yet. The Dr's reassured us of the plan of care and it turned out to be one of the best healthy investments we could have made for her. The convenience of multiple offices in different towns helped with scheduling. COVID had hit right in the middle of her treatment and with a few delays here and there she completed her treatment plan and we are satisfied with the outcome And the professionalism the staff and Dr's offered. read more

I got my braces with Harwell & Cook and I LOVE my teeth now. Something that used to embarrass me now is my favorite quality of myself! I have had one child use Harwell for Invisalign and will NOT use Harwell for my second child. Harwell is not thorough or consistent. First, they did not tell me that with Invisalign they would need to shave my son's two front teeth half way through the process. Thankfully I went back into the room that day with my 16 year old and was able to talk through it with them before they shaved his teeth. Come to find out it was the "recommended" thing to do and he didn't really need to shave his teeth. If my child does not wear his retainers properly for the rest of his life then his teeth can shift. If they shaved his front teeth and they shifted, he would have a gap between his two front teeth. Let me also address what they told us about retainers the last day we left the office. They said they would replace his retainers for free within the first six months of being out of the Invisalign. Well my son went to camp and lost his retainers there. When I called asking for our replacement pair they said it would be $175. Again, INCONSISTENT! Several times they were inconsistent with what we were told. I will pay our dentist less to make the retainers and I will be taking my second child to Sparkman for orthodontics. For the $5000 plus we paid for Invisilign, I expect caring, professional (I haven't even addressed some of the songs that were played in the waiting room and completely inappropriate for young children) and honest staff. read more

I have 3 girls, ages 25, 21 & 14 who all had to have braces. They all went to 3 different dentists/orthodontists. My oldest daughter had braces 6 yrs (age 8-14) r/t her jawbone but the orthodontist was great but retired before my next child needed braces. My middle daughter had braces 3 yrs, (age 15-18) the orthodontist was inconsistent & her teeth are still a bit crooked. For my youngest, I chose Harwell & Harwell & super happy I did. She had braces 2.5 yrs with great, friendly, personal staff. She got her braces off about 6 months ago & has such a perfect, beautiful smile she's so proud of that she brushes her teeth multiple times a day & wears her retainer faithfully every night, without being told, to make sure she keeps her teeth perfect!
