This is one of the locations where Wreaths Across America is held. It is an older tucked away…read morelittle jewel of a cemetery with a veterans area. Every year we work tiresomely to fill all the veterans graves with a wreath. It is a beautiful veteran area with the eternal flame and a presentation area. It is strictly volunteers with two teams fundraising to get 500 wreaths so each grave has a wreath. We have yet to make that mark. Wreaths Across America is truly a wonderful non profit organization honoring our veterans every year in December.

There are a couple of sections which house some very old headstones. Many are falling over or leaning up on others, no vandalism, just Mother Nature taking its toll. There are over 15,000 memorials situated there. There are also several crypts made from some amazing blocks of stone.

When they finally sent the paperwork to authorize cremation the format was an image file the size of a small photograph. It should have been a PDF file. When grieving a loved one we did not need to be figuring out how to resize a document to be readable let alone to sign and complete. That was our last straw before switching to a different funeral service. When they did finally transfer our loved to the other funeral home they failed to return their belongings. We had to keep calling them to get the belongings. We quickly learned of other families who had poor experiences with Grateful Gatherings as well. Do not use this company. I highly recommend Lawrence Chapel Oaks.
