Contracted this company to replace railing on my deck. While this contractor came when scheduled,…read morethe initial quote was incorrect for the actual work. So to get the actual work done was now going to be twice as much. Since he was there already I agreed. When I started inspecting the work several issues were found which he worked to correct, however rather than replacing a piece of railing that was obviously damaged during installation, he cut a part piece and patched with a board behind. This "patching" was also done on one of the top boards due to flat butted ends causing sagging. Rather than replicate the railing system as it was on the deck he recommended a different approach which seemed reasonable at the time. Since then (literally last week), several pickets have fallen out and when I measured the gap left under the bottom rail it was, at times almost 5 inches. Meaning the railings are not even level. I will likely have to replace the entire thing myself to make sure it is correct. I would not recommend this company for any kind of finished carpentry work.

I am sure some assembly crews may have said "can't do", but Emerson sized up the challenge and made it happen through creative thinking. The gazebo was installed properly and can barely see where the necessary modifications were made to make it work! I was impressed! Additionally, when the assembly was done, he cleaned everything up and replaced all things on the deck to exactly as they were prior to his involvement. But when tenant came to the house, i got the reality in my face. he made paint touches, unprofessionally, with different paint color on the wall, trim and basedboard. i will let you judge by the pictures. The house had water damage as a result of bad HVAC job (by Bardi heating, cool. Another horror story that I want to share soon..). The damage caused mold issues. Concerned for my tenant, I contacted contractors I have worked with before but they were all busy so I had to find someone else. I went on Yelp and reached out to Kyle based on the 2 good reviews. The initial convo went well and he sounded like he runs a good honest business; I went ahead and scheduled for an estimate. He gave me a quote including bathroom ceiling "repair" and closet mold removal. I agreed and paid the deposit and he came to start the job the following week. During the job, he let me know he needed to cut out the drywall in closet because the damage can't be remedied. And also the ceiling in bathroom doesn't need to be cut and can just be painted over with mold-treating-resistant paint. I agreed and asked for quote. Also now that ceiling doesn't need to be cut and repaired, I asked to adjust the first quote. He was reluctant for reasons I didn't really understand (something about because I already paid half). So I asked him to adjust the new quote and he did. So he cut open whatever he thought needed to be cut open and left a fan there for few days to dry out the remaining moisture and painted over the ceiling. At this point, the tenant needed to be out of town over a weekend after he picked up the fan. I thought this is OK so we can observe there's truly no more moisture from HVAC. And we agreed we'll schedule for him to come back and complete after tenant is back. Then he basically ghosted us. The tenant was not able to reach him at all. I was able to reach him once and he told me he has been really busy. I told him I understand but I'd like for us to get on his schedule and he said sure. I asked the tenant to try him again in case he forgets. And she was ghosted. I called and texted him just to be sure. And now I'm ghosted. A week had gone by.. My last text to him is "we will reach out to someone else" and he did not respond. I think it's safe to say at this point he doesn't want to complete the job. I don't want to say I was duped and paid more than what he actually did. I don't know if he even did a good job with mold remediation and painted ceiling. I don't know if he caused more damage than necessary. I'm not a professional and I'm not even there to assess it properly. But I'll assume he did a fair job and I paid a fair price for it. It is the fact that he ghosted on us and leaving us a mess to deal with that had me give this rating. Now we're left with a closet wall cut open, ceilings unfinished, and water stains still not addressed. I cannot recommend him. UPDATE: Given the response from Kyle's family, I changed the rating. As I said, I did want Kyle to work out to have a good reliable contractor to reach out to as a landlord managing remotely. Unfortunately it did not due to the reason stated in the response. Given an opportunity, I am sure Kyle "can" make a better impression on other customer but I can only rate on my own experience. I do wish Kyle a speedy and full recovery and his family well.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. (after smoking), and it is prevelant in GA. According to the EPA, about 1 in 15 homes in the U.S. have elevated levels of radon gas.
