Mind you I was 20 and my parents lived out of state. When it was time to pay the fees they claimed that my CARD WAS STOLEN! Since i hadn't signed the back. It was the only card i had ever had, my only way of accessing my money. I was obviously very young and panicked. The employees had no compassion at all. They wanted me to make a mistake so they could keep my car for longer and sell it or make me pay more fees. Absolutely evil behavior. Evil people.

My car broke down going west over Donner Summit on January 16th during a heavy snowstorm. The CHP…read moreadvised that AAA would not send for help in that area in bad weather. The CHP called Milne Towing who did get us towed to the Safeway parking lot in Truckee. I took the train back 200 miles, knowing I had to find a repair facility that would fix my car. I called Milne Towing, and advised them I could send a key since my car was alarmed. I was given an address in Truckee that (unknown to me) had no one present. I sent my key and alarm fob overnight. Then they said the didn't receive my key (which I tracked and had to be signed for), so then I contacted the Truckee Post Office, they showed me the signature of who signed for it. So since it was still snowing, I had to rent a 4WD car to go back up and meet the driver at the Safeway parking lot. ! When I reached out to them and asked "who in your business complex would sign for package of personal property addressed to Milne Towing, and not deliver it to you?" There are only ( I went up and confirmed) 4 other businesses in the complex! Why was I given an address to send my key if there was no one there to receive it, while my car was stranded in the Safeway parking lot!" I wanted compensation for my key and fob only, the cost of fuel and renting a 4WD to go back up there I was willing to forget, so I sent a letter! (Please see the attached response! ) So they got around to find my key and fob a month later! Only after I wrote them a letter asking for compensation did they even get back to me! First off, it is illegal to sign for any package not addressed to you, so who did they authorize to sign for them? After reading the other reviews on here which also evidence this company is to be avoided, this is not an isolated event! No responsibility taken, no ownership taken, ti seems their clients are not valued or cared about! Avoid Milne Towing, you have been warned.

    The Auto & Tire Doctor

I brought my vehicle to Auto & Tire Doctor in Truckee for an oil change and tire rotation…read more After the service was completed, I spoke with Daniel at the front desk and mentioned a concern about making sure the under-body panel used during the oil service had been properly secured. During that conversation, I happened to notice that my tires did not appear to have been rotated correctly. I had requested a tire rotation, and Daniel confirmed that it had been performed. However, upon inspecting the vehicle, I could see that the passenger-side tires had been swapped front-to-back while the driver-side tires had not. I was able to identify this because the tires on my vehicle have different tread patterns, making it easy to determine whether they had been moved. When I pointed this out, Daniel initially maintained that the tire rotation had been completed. After I showed him the difference between the passenger and driver sides, I was given several explanations regarding tire placement, vehicle handling, and concerns about the condition of my tires. None of those explanations addressed the fact that one side of the vehicle had clearly not been rotated. Eventually, another employee stepped in, acknowledged that the driver-side tires may have been missed, and immediately offered to bring the vehicle back into the shop to correct the issue. I appreciated that he took responsibility and worked to resolve the situation. My concern was not the mistake itself. Mistakes happen. What I found disappointing was the response when the issue was brought to Daniel's attention. Rather than simply acknowledging the possibility of an oversight and correcting it, I felt my concerns were dismissed and met with repeated explanations that did not address the actual problem. During the interaction, Daniel also made comments about wanting to "get this lady out of here" and referred to it being "Tuesday" while discussing the situation with staff. Whether intended that way or not, the comments came across as dismissive and unprofessional, particularly while I was trying to resolve a legitimate concern regarding work that had not been completed. The tire rotation charge was removed from my bill, and the work was ultimately completed correctly. I appreciate the employee who stepped in, acknowledged the issue, and resolved it. Based on this experience, I would encourage customers to verify that all requested services have been completed before leaving and to carefully review any work performed on their vehicle. To the shop's credit, the tire rotation charge was removed from my bill, and the work was ultimately completed correctly. I appreciate the employee who stepped in, acknowledged the issue, and resolved it. TLDR: Went in for a clear fix with clear instructions just for them to try to sell us a problem,…read morehaving to pick up the car during dangerous conditions at threat of fee or tow, completely negelent of their work which left us stranded on the side of the road for 3 hours during a snow storm. Messed up my tire for the price of $200, highly recommend!! Went in there to get a sensor replaced and gave them the obd2 scan. Because of the sensor problem we had to pull a fuse to stop the problem temporarily. When we brought it in they asked us about which fuse we pulled because they weren't labeled, we told them about the diagram on the fuse box lid, they then told us there was a circuit problem, yes because a fuse was taken out, put it back in we told you where the fuse was tucked away. They then sent us a $2400 quote for brakes. Our brakes are fine. This car stops better than our other one. We told them that was not our problem and we wanted the sensor fixed. We were told our brakes were "cooked" and upon hearing this asked to see them to inspect for fraying, chipping and looking warped. The "cooked" brakes look like brakes that were dirty. Almost like they're in a car. We decided these people aren't competent enough to work on our vehicle and told them we would only pay for the diagnosis, which was $200. Over phone I told the front desk worker that we live on donner summit and leaving during a snow storm would be difficult and dangerous, regardless I had to grab it that day or I would be charged with $75 per day or towing. Upon picking it up we left the lot and only drove about like 2 or 3 miles before we were stopped by chain control saying our car was unsafe to drive, we questioned and he told us to investigate the front passenger tire. After pulling over in a gas station we realize that the tire is completely off the bead, completely unsealed. We called them and asked about it and they claimed "my guys never touched your tires", when before they showed us a picture of our brakes but now they never touched our tires. So either worker at the front knows nothing about his work or they showed us someone else's brakes and recommended us a full brake job. The AI chat bots at a bank are more helpful than this guy. They said they couldn't fix it that day but they can charge us for a tow truck. We refused and got a free tow from our insurance. This problem took 3 hours to fix, which involved a tow to Stone's Country Tire which fixed our tire problem for free and in 15 minutes rather than 3 days.

The second time I took my Ford transit here and gas with siphoned from the vehicle while it was parked overnight. They had no response to this. Finally, I brought my wife's Tesla here today to repair a trunk latch and after paying a $275 diagnostic fee, they charged me $337 for 30 minutes of labor, Dean says it was because the technician is experienced and that is a fixed price. I would recommend going anywhere else if possible. They're the only certified Tesla shop in town, and they got the work done in a timely fashion, but as I pointed out, the prices are kind of ridiculous. They could've refunded me based on actual labor, like any other reasonable shop but instead I'm going to tell everyone I know to stay clear of this place..

I brought my car in with 2 issues: LF tire lose pressure and sound during driving. After some up-selling agree on scope they supposed to do by afternoon: fix tire, investigate sound, replace engine oil, replace air filter and coolant hoses (well, probably need). 1. They keep car until shop close - OK it happen 2. For 5 hours they claim to spend they was able only replace oil , coolant hoses and remove stone from breaks (source of sound) 3. They was not able to fix tire (???) and did not replace air filter because ordered wrong one. 4. Charged $800 for this work - well, may be But another shop I brought car to fix tire noticed low coolant level. Looks like they did not check/fill coolant after replaced hoses. It is MAJOR ISSUE. I risk overheating engine. And as a nice bonus, greasy spots on driver seat. No comments. Bottom line - stay away.
