I visited Amrita for kitten yoga this afternoon. I don't know what I was expecting but the studio…read morewas large in size. Probably the biggest yoga studio I've been in. It was a 12:00 class. When we arrived at 11:50, the kittens were still not there. They were brought in by Morris Animal Refuge. All the proceeds from the class went directly towards the needs of the refuge. Once we were settled in and the kittens got acclimated, our instructor, Heather, gave some background about Morris Animal Refuge. She stated it was a beginner level class and there wouldn't be a need for props. The class was actually pretty fast paced for beginner level! Heather said she would conclude five minutes early to give us a chance to take photos and spend time with the cats. The cats were amazing, but I wish there were more of them. They mostly hung around at the front of the studio but the volunteers from Morris would grab them and bring them around so everyone had a chance to see them. There were a lot of people in attendance for just a few cats. Amrita provided a clean and pleasant environment and a comfortable temperature for the class.

A lot to unpack at this new-to-me class. I've taken a pretty wide variety of chain fitness classes: was an OrangeTheory girly for a while, have taken Barry's, PureBarre, pilates, you name it. I like the opportunity to try new things as it keeps me curious about my body and fitness, so stopping by solidcore with zero knowledge or expectations seemed like the move. This is a reformer-based class that moves FAST - be prepared to live in the struggle and accept it. The instructor did an awesome job explaining the machine to me before class, but the pace is relentless. Which I think is why many folks find this so addicting! I was sore for 3 days after this class and cannot imagine a faster (or more painful, frankly) path to some serious strength gains, given that this workout is resistance based and choose-your-own-adventure intensity. The kicker is cost. When looking at membership details (I attended on a classpass trial) I was pretty shocked to find that 5 classes would set you back ~$170. Not something that's in my budget, but I absolutely recommend trying class and seeing if it's for you. Thanks to the team here for the great experience!

Bree at Equilibrium is the best! I was a (mostly) weekly client at Equilibrium Pilates for 18…read moremonths. I only stopped because my personal situation changed. I still hope to return. Regardless, during that time I turned 50 and my body only changed for the better. I became stronger and leaner and more flexible. Bree - the owner - is pretty hard core about her practices but also is very supportive and encouraging and creative. This personal approach to Classical Pilates is very effective and worth your time, effort, and money. I had attended group Pilates classes before and it wasn't the same- or even close. If you are looking to feel and look better, I recommend working with Equilibrium Pilates for a few months to see those results.

From the time, Brie (the owner/head instructor) returned my phone call, I knew that I would like her energy and enthusiasm. But now I can honestly say-Brie is my hero. I didn't know what to expect so I didn't have any particular thoughts before arriving. I walked in and saw several stations with different types of equipment. My only thought was-"She doesn't really expect me to be able to use any of this." . So I admit it I was nervous, embarrassed, and thought about running out of there before my session started. But Danielle (the receptionist) was good because she answered my questions and checked on my while I waited. She also was very positive and friendly.So I decided to stay. . Brie was great. She kept talking to me and encouraging me through out the session. I worked as hard if not harder than I do when I do cardio at the gym. But it was better. My back felt good at the end. The other people there were good too. They mention not to laugh even though one of them was a dancer. In any case, it was excellent. Brie was great. She didn't even seem to mind my buckets of sweat. The instructions are clear and you can see a difference in your posture pretty quickly. The price is reasonable given the well kept equipment, location, and experience of teaching you're getting. I highly recommend trying it out. If you're at all concerned about covid, as I was before coming to the studio, the precautions taken and the care given to make you feel comfortable exceeded my expectations.

I will only be reviewing the belly dance…read moreclasses, as I have not participated in the variety of other classes offered (including: different yogas, tribal belly dance, zumba, salsa, body conditioning, pilates, cardio kickboxing, and drumming.). Oh, and they also offer a multitude of messages, which I hope to be testing out soon! This studio is beyond compare! I've taken dance classes since I was three years old (at prestigious schools such as Point Park), and the belly dance classes I have taken here rival any and all in my experience. The instructors level of professionalism and knowledge is amazing, but what I like best is the "comfort" level. Classes are filled with beginners through experienced and professional dancers. I'm intermediate level, but am not deterred by the experienced or beginner dancers. I won't analyze it, I'm just going to say that it works! As for the atmosphere, cozy comes to mind. There are mirrors everywhere (like a real ballet studio), which are essential for gaging body position. Another great aspect is the price: $12 per class; $10 per class (10 class minimum); $9 per class (20 class minimum). You can't beat those prices anywhere!!! One great perk is that, if you buy 10 classes, you can use those however you want. For example, take 3 belly dance classes, 2 yoga classes, 2 pilates classes, and 3 fitness classes (or some other combo). And, if you miss a class, you don't have to pay for it. It really is the best deal around!
