Well, I have a mixed review. They have their strong points and their weak points. Initially when…read morelooking for a place, it took 3-5 days and me calling back several times to get someone to call me back and set up an appointment to see the rental properties. We qualified under their terms and then put our money down for a place. They said we were approved on their end but then the owner came back and disapproved us. They never said on what grounds this decision was based. They did explain that ultimately, the owner decides. Then, Keith worked diligently with me to include texting and calling me back late in the evenings to accommodate seeing the other properties until we finally found one. What I don't understand is the following: Why requests to see a property like some others on Zillow do not have appointments we can schedule ourselves on availability. Why they wont let us put our deposit down on a home we have not seen if we know we want that home. Its cash money people haha. Lastly, when we finally found a place we wanted. they sent our documents via email which is great. I wanted to clarify something in the lease in writing but the docusign does not allow that. Since we are 2 signers, they would not accept a pdf with the added language. I was finally able to get something via email confirmation to the lease and use docusign. Another issue we had was that the home did not have a garbage disposal. They said the owner would not allow us to put one in and pay for any maintenance. Not sure why?? Makes no sense to me. These should be negotiable items. So far, I found the ladies in the office to be very pleasant. That's definitely a feather in their cap. Will update once we move in and state whether the carpets were cleaned well and the minor fixes were done.

On Friday, 6/26, my partner and I scheduled a showing for Monday, 6/29 at 4:30 PM. We were specifically told that no earlier appointments were available, that we were the first people scheduled to view the apartment, and that we would likely have the opportunity to rent it. Based on that information, we both rearranged our work schedules, found coverage for our shifts, inconvenienced several coworkers, and lost income just to make this appointment. Then, just five hours before our scheduled showing, we were told the appointment was canceled because someone else had already rented the apartment. The cancellation itself was frustrating, but the way it was handled made the experience far worse. When I expressed why we were upset after taking time off work and losing wages based on the information we had been given, the Leasing Manager working on Monday, 6/29, told me they didn't understand why I was upset and that this was "just the process." If that's truly their process, it's a process that shows little respect for prospective tenants' time, commitments, or finances. A simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience or a sincere apology would have gone a long way. Instead, the response was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in empathy. Our time, our income, and the effort we put into rearranging our schedules apparently meant nothing. If you're considering renting here, be aware that even a confirmed showing may not mean much, and don't assume the company values your time the way you value theirs. There are plenty of property management companies that communicate honestly and treat prospective tenants with professionalism. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this one.

This review is from the heart and includes a story. In 2018 we were evicted from our home of almost…read more14 years, so our landlord could rent it to his daughter who was soon to be married. Our family immediately began house hunting, deciding it was time to buy. We came across a beautiful house out in the country, and my wife fell in love with it. That is when Focus Realty came into our lives. Realtor Kim Latshaw was listing the property for sale. Our credit was almost where it needed to be, but we weren't quite ready to purchase. Kim worked hard to arrange with the landlord an option whereby we could rent this home until our credit was at a point where we could buy. She also mediated with the owner for a reasonable purchase price. While renting the home, it was discovered that the septic system was obsolete and failing. Kim immediately dropped the cost of our rent to accommodate the frequent pumping we had to do to keep the system viable. Kim worked tirelessly with me for three years to get all the necessary permits, perks and site design done. It was a long, arduous process, as the majority of our property sits on a 22% grade. A normal sand mound was out of the question and the ground was too rocky for a typical system. It required a very specialized hybrid system. After three long years of Kim's efforts on our behalf, we were finally able to purchase. I was able to carry my sweet wife over the threshold of her country dream home. It was ours. When we first entered into an agreement to purchase, so many of my friends told me I was taking a huge risk by not hiring an independent realtor to represent my interests, choosing instead to work with Kim who was the listing realtor. Throughout the whole process, Kim maintained her integrity to her seller and to us as buyers. She always told us when she was doing something to protect the owners and explained why she needed to do what she was doing. Likewise, she protected our interests and as the price of real estate began its meteoric rise, she held the sellers to their once agreed upon contractual selling price. Did I mention that halfway through the three years it took to get the septic system fixed, the owner died and his son became power of attorney? Kim didn't let it derail anything. She began her new relationship with the owner's son and power of attorney, and we proceeded to drill a new well so we could excavate a new drain field to build a new septic system. Kim's kindness, expertise and integrity all made our dream possible, while giving the seller an honest and profitable sale. During our years renting, her agency was always quick to make repairs and NEVER let necessary repairs go longer than a day. You could not ask to work with kinder, more graceful real estate professionals. If you are looking for a pleasant home buying experience, call and talk to Kim. It will be worth the time you spend to make the call.

I could go on and on and on about how Kristen was 100% the most amazing and concise communicator, how she was always willing to point out things I may not have noticed as a first time buyer as well as offering tons of info from her own experience without ever seeming condescending or pushy at all, how she drove countless miles during this hellish economy and in the cold to view what I was interested in without ever making me feel like it was an inconvenience or a pain, or how with every single property we saw she was always just as diligent (if not more) to make sure everything looked as copacetic as it should....I could go on and on about all of that in detail, but I'll just have to say that my experience with her was nothing short of AMAZING. I ended up in a beautiful home That I've been extremely happy in, I was recommended an amazing home inspector and insurance company by her & have not woken up a single morning since moving and felt anything less than a sheer sense of deep joy and comfort. Thank you Kristen and Pagoda- it feels really good to be home.
