We ordered the Special house pizza which was over 30.00 but we heard it was amazing, when it arrived we were so excited cause it looked great. Then came the condiments to go with it, we were intrigued because of the uncovered glass jar it came with, you could see all the seasonings and it smelled great, our very initentive waitress explained it's a special blend the cook makes, no one knows what it is but him but it's best on the pizza. We agreed so much that when it was time to box up the order to go we asked for a dish to take the remaining jar of this oil based seasoning in the jar, the waitress said it was an extra 12.00 to take it home, we were confused because this was an "individual jar of oil based seasoning " when my husband said that's ridiculous for something you can't reuse the waitress replied everyone uses it till its gone?? Like what? Double dipping your crust, licking off the spoon, sticking your finger in it to see if you like it before you dip your pizza in it?? This place is right off the main road outside of town. It's a local place for sure but worth stopping for lunch. The kids loved the pizza. Traditional Cornish pasty is very authentic. When I wanted to send back the oily soggy fries that had some shredded Parmesan tossed on top he was quite rude about asking me why and said he had to ask. This place desperately needs a Floor Manager! We were here on a Sunday Evening. The place was packed. Unfortunately, the waitresses were on their own without backup help. I ended up getting menus for our table. We assumed the dishwasher guy was called from the kitchen to buss the empty tables. The poor guy had no training, he would get half the dirty plates, glasses and utensils off the table and go to another table and repeat the same leaving the tables unavailable for new customers. We also witnessed several people waiting forever for service. Because of this, we saw at least three tables of customers walk out of the restaurant. The place needs a floor manager making sure empty tables were getting cleaned, customers' orders being taken in a timely fashion. They also need to call Food Network's Robert Irving (Restaurant Impossible) to straighten out the place! read more

I'm not in Anaconda as much as I'd like. Normally if I stop here it is for pizza. Love the Haufbrau special. This time it was hot out and we just wanted a quick bite so we had cheese balls as an appetizer and I ordered a pork chop sandwich with fries and my friend ordered a NuBurger with fries. Even considering recent inflation prices are high for what you get. We had a water and a pop for drinks. The fries especially were undercooked and a small portion. About an hour after eating neither of us felt well and both had stomach issues for a bit. It was not good and was certainly not worth nearly $50. Servers seemed disinterested and put out by having to tend to tables. Just a disappointing experience all around. Next time we'll continue on through and not bother unless we're looking for pizza. read more

There is a "construction area" out front with no signs to stay out, nothing showing it is a construction area, and not entirely roped off. We walked through it on our way in to get our 4 month old out of the sun. Upon walking to the door, a guy came out immediately yelling at us about how we couldn't walk through the construction area. He extremely rudely said "if you step on a nail we're not paying for it" and walked back inside. We literally hadn't even made it in the door yet before getting berated. Found this spot through Yelp, pulled up their menu and we were glad we stumbled on it. Homemade "Pete's" pepper sauce, great pizza and a garden salad that could have been shared for 4. The menu is extensive ranging from homemade fried chicken, near half pound burgers, pasta and pizza. A bit of an eclectic menu but they seem to have a rhythm to it. Stole some peeks at neighboring tables and their food looked great as well. Our server, Brittany, was attentive and spot on with everything. When ordering a martini, I never before was asked if I wanted it "blended". A moot point since while he was making a blended drink he dropped the blender, which shattered.....good thing we didn't need our beer "blended". Guests that arrived after we did ate and left 15 minutes before our food was served, cold and missing pieces of chicken that we had to wait for another 7 minutes. My baked potato was served without butter, sour cream or chives, and when asked for was informed that made it a "loaded" baked potato ( another $1.25). Easily one of the TOP 10 pizzas in North America. I've had gourmet pizza in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver BC, Maui, Portland Oregon, Seattle Washington, and a dozen other cities. "The Works" pizza at the Haufbrau is the best pizza I've ever had. Imagine, four different types of meat, four different types of cheese, olives, peppers and a mountain of sauerkraut baked inside. That's the Haufbrau's "The Works." Or "The Haufbrau special" I believe it's called? Clarify with your server. You want the big sauerkraut pizza. I order it with extra sauerkraut. I know what you're thinking... Sauerkraut on pizza?? Eww. Quite the contrary. The sourness brings out the flavor in the sauce and the cheese... And the sauce and the cheese simultaneously cancel out the sourness. Kind of like a Reuben sandwich. Ever get a good Reuben? Ever wonder why they're so good? It ain't the pastrami and rye bread combination that gives it that zing, I can tell you that. That sauerkraut really brings out the flavors on your pallet. Imagine what it would do with a glorious pizza such as this. The other thing about sauerkraut, is it gives a really nice texture. The cabbage offers a little crunch to it that just makes every bite super interesting. Also, sauerkraut is one of the most healthy foods for you. So it's kind of a win-win win-win. The crust on "The Works" is thin, but firm. The biggest problem with most heavy topping pizzas is the crust is either too soft and flimsy, or too thick and greasy (Think Pizza Hut deep dish). The crust here is perfect. I don't think it's homemade crust, but that doesn't matter. Wherever they get it from, it's perfect. And they also have this green chili oil sauce on the table that's just to die for. Trust me, spread a little bit of this on top of the pizza, and you can't look someone in the eyes and say it's not the best pizza you've ever had. After coming here a few times, and trying a decent variety of menu items, I feel like I can finally write an unbiased review. The food is mediocre and has honestly given me food poisoning more than once. Chicken parm? bland, overcooked. Roast beef sandwich? slimy and not worth finishing. Specialty burgers? not too bad. Mild bone-in chicken wings? run, fast. The "Haufbrau Pizza", which it looks like everyone whose written a review for this place mentions, pretty good! It's the only thing off the menu I would enthusiastically recommend. But, is there really room for an outsider like me to complain? What will that accomplish? This place is an Anaconda staple, a place where the community has gathered for decades, a shelter from harsh winters in the form of an actual structure and a strong brew, a place where the adults come on cool summer nights to wind down by playing a few games of horseshoe (there's a spot for this right next door)- and most importantly where everyone knows your name. As a former employee, all I can say is beware. It's not clean, what you think you're getting your not and it's just not to what a restaurant standard should be. Haufbrau pizza is a local favorite. Crust is not made fresh but toppings are piled high and overall is a great pizza. I would recommend the Haufbrau special, made with sauerkraut. Try the homemade peppers (jalapeno's ground up in stored in oil, most excellent). Atmosphere is casual. Get a table close to the fireplace. Great place to stop after a day skiing, fishing or whatever and have some pizza and beer! read more

Grabbed a few sandwiches, a salad and a pitcher of beer between my kids games during a basketball tourney. Typical pub food. Service was spot on and the food came out hot and tasty. This is a fun local place. And the stuffed animal machine with the big claw actually doesn't drop the stuffed animals as it gets closer to you. For 50 cents you actually do get a stuffed animal, whereas you spend $5 somewhere else and you get nothing. Anyway, the pizza is pretty good. I got a hamburger and there was something weird on top, maybe mushrooms which were mushy and I took them off. Then it was pretty good. The salad was also good. This place has a great taco pizza. However I really don't care for the shoe string greasy fries. Also often the menu items are a hit or miss. The only items I have had that are consistently good are the wraps. The food is decent but a bit pricey for the quality. Our waitress however did not acknowledge us while attending to minor refills etc on the next table, and as many locals filtered in and got menus and drinks, we hadn't gotten menus yet.
