The instructor Stuart is a great guy and he taught us SUP the right way. They have many other fun activities like arrow tag, kayaking, axe throwing and a survival skills class to name a few. I would like to suggest this place if you want to learn a new skill and enjoy at the same time. I would be definitely be going back for a second class or maybe another exiting activity. It was also really fun when they dropped off the apps with no plates or silverware, we had to ask & it was literally take out silverware. The actual throwing of the axes is fun if you want a glitchy game that's going to skip players on your team, not record points etc. Ambiance? Not it, you pay $10 a drink to sit in bright lights. Where we are sitting there's like a workshop area that looks unsafe for patrons & behind us is dents & scuffs in the wall. Also my male friends used the bathroom & lifted the seats & they were covered in feces Also OSHA would have a field day here. Where we were sitting I could reach a power drill & a torch. The worker there was very nice and did a good job explaining how to throw the axe as well as safety guidance. We were both first timers so this explanation was very important to us. We had a 1 hour long reservation that we paid $80 for. We had so much fun throughout. Once we got the hang of throwing we started to play the game where you count points and try to get to 21 (worker suggested we play it). He also left us pen and paper to aid with scorekeeping. After the safety chat, we all got to go up in pairs and test out throwing 2-handed. After everyone had gone, we got to try 1-handed throwing. The staff (I wish I remembered their names) were super helpful and friendly. I heard from two of my coworkers who had been there previously that their previous helpers were less fun. Anyway - I guess we lucked out, because our 2 guys were super funny and encouraging. We did a placement round and then a bracket round. I sucked, but it was still a lot of fun. I would totally organize an event here. And yes - they have real axes. I was picturing fake axes with suction cups or something because... sharp edges and booze, but it's the real deal.
