My wife and I come to the Frankfurt Book Fair each October. The Fair is always very busy and its frantic nature seems to spill out into the city. So we are always looking for a quiet place to relax in the evening to unwind. This year we found such a place at Haus Biegwald. Set way off the beaten track in the park just south of the Nidda near the Rodelheim train station. Inside it feels like a forest hideaway - comfortable booths and a blazing wood stove. Each time we have visited the chef/owner has come out to greet us, to make sure we are comfortable, and to see what we would like to eat. The food is as good as the atmosphere, ranging from traditional German dishes to risottos, salads & soups. The wine is excellent and the prices are extremely inexpensive. Four of us had wine, salads and main courses for less than 60 Euro. If you want to relax and enjoy excellent food in the countryside without leaving Frankfurt, I recommend Haus Biegwald. read more
