The day arrived and on a rainy Sunday, I was excited especially because I had visited many pet stores farther away and had horrible experiences. Well, I rang the doorbell and to my surprise, no one was there. A male spoke through the camera, busy street very hard to hear, so I retreated back to my car. Shortly after he coordinated with me for a phone call and I was informed that the puppy I was there to see was in fact sold the day prior. He explained that being the owner, he was very apologetic and would ensure a discussion with the "staff" member would occur and he was uncertain how the "scheduler" could have made a mistake. I don't really the lady's name but I'm almost certain it was the same name as the lady's name who was mentioned as his wife in a Fredricksburg news article when their business was acknowledged by the city a couple years ago. Nonetheless he tried to make it right by offering his services in the future and understood if I would choose not to do business with him again. He also offered to meet me at the boutique to see the puppies that were currently available and to send pictures of future breeds of interest, which he did but I was not interested. Long story short, 5 stars on how the owner handled the situation and how he tried to rectify the situation. 1 star on scheduling, follow up, and common courtesy to inform someone if the puppy they are scheduled to see was sold. This practice is a bad look because it implies the most important aspect is money and not necessarily finding a perfect fit home. Also, the dogs are there alone unless there is a visit schedule seems like a lonely life. The concept is great. One on one with puppies and an experience to match, just not my experience. It all worked out for the best in the end.

While I was paying I heard our puppy yelp but thought maybe it was an excited yelp because she knew we were there. When the daughter brought her out to us I then noticed blood all over myself and my kids and the floor. I said "Why is she bleeding?" The owners daughter didn't say a word and walked away and sat down on her phone. I looked at the owner and she said "Oh she must've jumped while she was getting a nail trim". After standing there expecting them to do something, then they decided to get up and try to get the bleeding to stop. They both proceeded to hold my puppy down, and hold her snout closed all while the owner kept yelling at her to "Stop it!" "You're being dramatic!". She is a 16 week old puppy who just got her paw hurt, of course she was scared! This wasn't just a little nick, her nail was cut past the quick. I told the owner that, and told her this was completely unnecessary and I was highly dissatisfied with what just happened. She shrugged her shoulders and said "This happens all the time". Our pups paw bled for 45 mins, and she limped on it for quite a while. I will never be coming back and I refuse to recommend this place of business to anyone! When you trust someone with your kids and/or animals, you expect compassion and professionalism - we received neither!
