Showed up to the Academy of Beauty around 1:15. I was not aware that I had to physically check in,…read morewrite my name on a list, and leave my phone number. So I stood there waiting about 15 minutes behind two other people, thinking that was the system. Finally I asked how to get a haircut and was told I needed to put my name and number down. At that point it was already 1:30. At 2:40 the manager and owner, Tim Nguyen, came downstairs and told me, "Yeah I think we'll be able to see you. Just wait." He also said that people typically have to sign in by 9 AM, but that it would be okay for me and someone would see me. Fast forward to 2:50, I checked again and asked if I was still going to be able to get a haircut. I was then told no. Apparently the students they thought were available had decided to leave. So I basically wasted an hour and a half for nothing. When I asked if they take appointments, I was told they do not. But when I walked outside and looked at their A frame advertisement, it clearly said "Walk ins welcome and appointments encouraged." That makes zero sense. If I could rate this place negative stars, I would.

Once I was on the table, the facial was quite short/hurried. Admittedly, I only paid for parking for two hours and told the student I had to leave by 2:30 PM. She finished at 1:50 PM so I think I could have had more treatment time. She also told me she would give me a hand massage but I never got it. My skin feels great but I had product all over my hair..a little messy. :) The room is crowded with multiple student and customers. Definitely NOT relaxing... but I get it, this is a school, and customers are like guinea pigs. So, just keep all of this in mind... cheap, and you get what you pay for! I'm really glad I finally had time to try this salon. Park in the garage, or on the street. Cash, credit card or Apple Pay accepted.

A girl by the name of Savanah colored my roots and practically made me look like "Elvira" from the movie. I walked in on 6/17/26 after our movie was over and was greeted by an employee by the name of Diana. She wanted to know what was I there for? I told her a simple wash/shampoo and with a curt, abrupt voice she said $20.00 for wash and blow dry. I said I only need a wash, no blow dry. She said well, we do both together. Another employee approached me and tried selling me their products when I was not interested, and she kept telling me that it's so good, will be great for my hair and all the other BS. I told her for the 2nd time, I am NOT interested and then she walked away. It is a big, nice, clean salon for students that need practice to get their degree of becoming to be barbers, hairdressers, cosmetologists, and also offer aesthetics programs. They have various start dates with full time & part time schedule options. For $20.00 I can get myself 4 tacos and a drink from anywhere. Said thank you and walked out.
