I think this is the third or fourth Havana Connections I've been to in and around the Richmond area. All the shops have a great selection of cigars, and this particular shop had a gentlemen behind the counter who could describe each and every cigar they had, down to what made them different from the other cigars next to them. They didn't have the Ave Maria cigars I was looking for, but at this point no shop in Richmond has them, so it wasn't a huge shock. Prices are average to high for the area. But they have a nice little spot in back where you can sit, smoke, watch a game, and relax, which places it above the other Havana Connections in Midlothian and Short Pump. read more

Have to reply to this recent negative review. First let me say The people in this store are great, always helpful. Go out of their way to help. I can't blame them for asking to not touch items, would you want a cigar that's been picked up several times? Can you blame someone for asking if youre sick? During stay at home orders? Most places take temperatures. These are scary times, you're putting these employees at risk by walking through the door. I would hope they wouldnt let you touch anything under a pandemic. read more

Went into the Swift Creek location on 10-18-19 at approximately 6:30 pm to buy a lighter. When I walked in the salesperson didn't say a single word to me. I am an African American male that was wearing my Virginia Union University paraphernalia. I was in the store approximately 10 minutes and the salesperson said NOTHING to me. He was carrying on a conversation with three WHITE males that were seated to the right as you enter the store. I left the store without being asked if I needed any help. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at these stores over the years. Never have I ever been treated so blatantly disrespectful. If I were WHITE and wearing VCU paraphernalia and not Virginia Union's, I'd probably would have received more than enough help and property greeted. I will NEVER spend another penny at this place. read more

My son bought me a Havana Connections gift card. I tried to use it last week and was told that their vender's computer system was down and they would take my number and call when it is back up. Tried two stores just to make sure. Both locations were matter of fact about the issue. It's not our fault it's the vender. Have no idea when it will work so just have to wait. Problem is that they chose the vender and obviously it was a poor decision. I purchase high end cigars all the time but was not impressed by fact that Havana Connections takes no ownership nor do they find a way to reduce the inconvenience for the customer. read more

Great experience. Walked in today while on my way through town. Was immediately greeted warmly and asked what kind of smoke I was looking for. The gentleman was knowledgeable about both pipe tobaccos and cigars, which is surprisingly rare these days. I walked out with two new cigars to try and a wonderful little humidor to visit whenever I'm passing through Richmond. read more
