The Big guy isn't the only retired LEO in NJ, I am one as well, and to be followed like your being suspected of taking something is not customer service it's insulting, ask other retired or active officers or any individual see what they say, your employee is the one who pointed out the "posted sale" I didn't and yes he still charged me for the "free" cigar after pointing it out and retrieving it for me, what do you call that? and yes if you pay for a service and don't get at least minimal service you should speak up at the end of the day it's your money that was spent at the establishment no shame here pal I work for mine nothing is given to me unlike others good luck to you and your future endeavors. Very welcoming, friendly, cordial and laid back vibe at this store. Strategically located amongst the many restaurants on the road, this is the place to be after a large dinner. Its BYOB , so grab a bottle before you come in or pick up Starbucks which is right next door. Good selection of cigars, even the small batch ones that could be hard to find. There is a lounge in the store, and comfy seats everywhere. Ventilation is good as well. I do think the best part of this place is the laid back atmosphere. Its a place to smoke, and wind down from your hectic day. Just sink into that comfy chair, smoke a cigar and let the day melt away.. The owner/manager is relaxed, friendly and most welcoming. read more

Nice shop in Nutley. Has a fairly good selection of popular brands however the variety could be broader. 5 or 6 Montes or Rockys is not enough. Prices were reasonable (considering my buddy paid). Looked like they had a cozy lounge in the back. Will stop in again when back in the area. read more

I was just passing by and I decided to enter and ask did they sell cigarettes, knowing that it's a cigar shop as the name implies . The gentleman working there, answered all my silly questions patiently and politely. The atmosphere was great. There was at least three groups of people each containing 3-4. And there was still room for more. Shop looks small on the outside but it has plenty of space. So to sum up they don't sell cigarettes. But they have high quality cigars for reasonable prices. They have a great atmosphere. And most importantly they are polite and welcoming. read more

Just walked in to buy a few cigars. Decided on 4 Nat Sherman Metropolitans. Went to check out and mentioned that Nat Sherman on 42nd Street just closed. The guy at the counter, gratuitously exclaims "those two guys over there are f**ed up!" I ask, "who?." He says "you know the mayor and the governor, and anyone who agrees with them are f**cked up too." I was genuine taken aback. Truly crude and rude. Decided to politely decline the sale and left the shop. Definitely not a place I'd recommend. read more

But today I was really felt weird and strange to buy a cigar here the layout was real unusual there back room no one sitting cigars are in front so you can see them but with guys sitting all around there just not warm and inviting I would rather drive 20 mins to JR cigar then go here again..Lost my Business indefinitely read more

In Jersey for a family event and wanted to cap the week with a special cigar. Found Havana's on Yelp and impressed (or lucky) that they stock my favorites - Padron Anniversay series and My Family. Truth be told, I had my first ever disappointing Anniversary smoke and felt the shop owners should know. At this point I was back in Wisconsin, but that had no bearing on the customer service received. Alex was understanding and truly concerned with my trip to his shop. He insisted on replacing the cigar and a week later a package arrived with the Anniversary stick as well as a few Fuente's! It is heartening to come across shop keepers like Alex that understand and follow up with this kind of service. Havana's is a guaranteed stop on future trips back east. read more

Went in yesterday with my girlfriend sometime after lunch. It was hot outside but perfect temperature inside. We were greeted by a lovely very friendly and super knowledgeable hostess/sales associate named chrissy she was able to recommend and help me with my selection as well as teach me stuff I didn't know without making me feel stupid. We stayed a while and I got to smoke a stogie while chrissy talked with us and kept my girl and I entertained the smoke eaters were doing their job so my girl didn't get smoked out. I initially went into Havana's to buy cigars as a gift to bring to an out-of-state friend. I had never been to a cigar shop and knew absolutely nothing about cigars, and since I am female, was a bit intimidated to enter. The shop manager made me feel very comfortable. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful in selecting cigars based on the limited information I had, willing to spend the time with me to ensure I made the right selections, and packaged them right. There were a few guys sitting and smoking, and they also were nice, providing additional helpful info on how to travel with my purchases. read more

I use to go this cigar shop on a weekly basis when there was a older gentleman and a younger gentleman who ran the shop their names were Pat and Edwin, they were very nice and knowledgeable. They would always welcome me, knowing my name and many times having my cigars bagged and ready to go. I was there a few months ago, when i walked in i did not see either gentleman. I inquired with the women behind the counter about their availability. She told me the older gentleman had passed and the younger gentleman she was not sure of. She her self paled in comparison to either gentleman i asked her for some maduro selections which she knew nothing about she also couldn't answer any questions about a Prometheus lighter I was looking to purchase even though they had a Prometheus case with three lighters in it. Almost every cigar i touched were stale they didn't have much selection and they were highly overpriced I say to Alexander Martinez bring back that young gentleman Edwin hey was knowledgeable,pleasant,and a added bonus to the business.
