This Indian restaurant on the main drag in the lovely town center of Arlington was a nice find. My colleague and I were on business and when we're traveling, we like to find good places to eat of varying styles. Indian is one of my favorites and this was a fairly short drive from our hotel in Waltham. We made a reservation but that did not seem to be at all necessary. It was a Monday night and it was not particularly busy. We were seated right away. They featured a very pleasant dining room and we were able to secure a table by the front window. This was a great spot and added to our experience. The service was very good. We were attended to quickly and well cared for throughout our time there. The food came out in a timely manner well presented at the appropriate temperature. My colleague opted for the Creamy Coconut Chicken. I tried a bite of this and was favorably impressed. In addition, he had a Mango Lassi to which he also gave a thumbs-up. I had the Fish Curry, which I ordered at a medium level in terms of spice. It was very tasty as it had just the right amount of kick. He ordered the Garlic Naan to accompany his meal while I had my favorite type of Indian bread (my favorite type of bread period, really) Peshwari Naan. We were both happy with these choices. I also had a glass of cabernet which turned out to be a decent choice. Our final bill that included food, drinks, tax and tip was $86. At $43 per person in this inflationary time, I was happy enough with the value given the quality of the fare and the overall experience. I would be happy to make a return visit. read more

After spending eight hours at Boston Logan, multiple reschedules and finally a cancellation, we checked into a nondescript hotel at 9:30 PM. Starving and quickly looking through UberEats for still open and delivering restaurants at that time of the night (two cancelled after accepting the order), ordered from Haveli, order arrived in 32 mins, not bad given how far they were from the delivery location. Haveli passed the north indian food test with a 6/5 dal makhni. For those of you familiar with North India's iconic lentil dish, Haveli's version is a more heartier version closer to the Dal Maharani you'll find in a highway dhaaba aka roadside food stall or in a Punjabi household. Glad it wasnt loaded with cream or butter and let the texture and spices shine through. Tandoori Roti flatbread and rice (lentils come with rice) were ideal accompaniments. I really liked the naan and the mango lassi! The veggie dish (I forgot what it was called) was really good as well. My chicken vindaloo was pretty good, nothing too crazy though. I am basic so the cheese naan was my favorite :p Both dishes were ordered to be spicy but my chicken vindaloo wasn't that spicy at all. I mean wow! By far the best Indian restaurant I've been too, and it's not even close. Everything we had was great and fresh. I've never been the biggest fan of samosas, always thought they were okay; but this place made me fall in love with them. We had the samosa chaat which isn't your typical way to have samosas but it's a must get. The chicken chili took you in journey of flavors, you tasted 3 different flavors from start to finish. Chicken Vindaloo was also amazing and a must get. Tikka masala paneer was okay, definitely not my favorite tikka masala sauce; but who cares everything else was amazing. Our waitress Mina was great! She was very helpful and attentive. If you're lucky to have her as your waitress, just know you're in good hands! Restaurant is very clean and spacious. The chairs they use are cushioned and super comfortable; and you could lean back pretty far after you're full at the end of your meal. Only negative thing I have to say about this place is that it's an hour away from me. But also a good thing because I'd be in there every week lol. This is an outstanding, relatively new, addition to the Arlington, MA food scene. I have now eaten there three times and ordered takeout about a half a dozen. It's pretty much the consistently best Indian food I've had in the Boston area, but often nearly empty when I have been there. This restaurant really deserves to succeed! The service is always patient and friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and roomy. Everything is prepared carefully and none of the food has that bland, "phoned in" quality that you sometimes encounter in restaurants. The chicken tikka masala is creamy, lightly sweet, full of flavor with perfect small pieces of tender chicken. The spinach dishes are wonderful and the appetizers really tasty. We ordered the dinner special, which is a deal! Appetizer, two mains, two Naans, and a dessert. We ordered Paneer Korma and Saag Paneer, both mild. They were cooked as expected, mild yet with strong flavors. I did not care for the Naan breads - found them a bit gluey. This could be because we got takeout. After many visits to Haveli Indian Restaurant, I have to say the chef is consistent in cooking the chicken tikka masala and aloo gobi. The mild spice is just right for both dishes. The entire staff is always welcoming, friendly and nice. This is our favorite Indian restaurant and highly recommend this place. Delicious food! I'm vegetarian and the veggie options are fresh and flavorful. I love the spice levels. I've tried several dishes that were all good; my current favorite is navratan korma filled with vegetables and a little bit of paneer. The breads and pakoras also tasty. Excellent! Got the samosa chaat as an appetizer... it was twice as big as we thought it would be and had great combo of chickpeas and chutney. Had gotten take out from here three times before, but tonight was the first time I dined in the actual restaurant. I'm a big fan of this place. Nice decor, very friendly staff, spotlessly clean, and the food is delicious. Tonight I had the vegetable pakoras, chicken saag, plain paratha bread, and garlic naan bread. The spice levels were just right on the appetizer and the entree, and it was hard to stop eating the garlic naan as it was mouth-watering. This is a fairly new restaurant and it's across the street from a long-time established Indian restaurant, so don't be scared off if it's somewhat empty. Little by little people will catch on to how good this place is. And the prices are better at this spot than across the street as well. read more

I stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. Indian dance videos on a larger screen, the rest of the room comfortable but elegant. A Tequika & Desi soda was quite tasty and tart. Real made from scratch home-cooked Punjabi food! We had aloo paratha, raita, saag paneer, Basmati rice, black pepper chicken, mango lassi, black dal, and kheer and ras malai for dessert. What a feast for the three of us, and some left to take home. Service was prompt and personal, ambience comfortable, restaurant clean. We really enjoyed our first visit to Haveli: pleasant atmosphere, comfy chairs, friendly and attentive staff. I appreciated that they clearly marked vegan options on their menu, and that they actually had a plant-based Tandoori option. (Which I tried -- it was tasty and pleasantly spicy, though I still have to investigate what those soy chunks are made of.) My husband enjoyed his chicken saag and noted that the chicken was nicely tender -- notable because he'd found most other Indian places to serve woefully dry chicken. The only imperfection during our visit: the garlic naan, though tasty, was a little doughy/underdone. We will be back . . . read more

Went there for lunch-- they had a very reasonably-priced lunch special for $12. I had the Mango Chicken which was excellent, served with rice and nan. I also offered off the menu, a Mulligatawny soup, which was probably the best one I've ever had. The server was also very attentive, and the ambiance is very pleasant.
