We were leaving for MI the next day after picking up our "fixed" van. On the way, light came on, cruise didn't work. We kept taking it back because it wasn't fixed. They have had it more than we have! During this winter we experienced the same over and over. The van then developed where everytime we put gas in it it wouldn't start. The part they quoted us was almost $500 plus $100 to install. We were able to get the Toyota part from Toyota in Lakeland less than $250. D&D did install the part fixing the hard start. However, the engine light continues to come on and cruise stops. In May we were told a vacuum hose, plugged and capped had been found and they would have to locate a diagram of the engine to know where to connect it. Supposedly this past week the van was fixed. We picked it up Friday evening after dropping it off on Monday. Today, Sunday, the light is back on and cruise has stopped. On more than 1 occasions we were given a day to bring the van in which we would do , it sat for days untouched. Drove by Friday near noon van was where we had left it. We called an hour later told they were just scanning the code , we were called shortly to be told it's fixed and we could pick it up. It appears what happened was the code was reset, the van isn't fixed. We highly DO NOT RECOMMEND D & D. Unless you don't mind paying to have a problem that doesn't get fixed, extremely poor communication, knowing Don when he does show up works from 11am -4pm. But he will be quick to let you know he has a life, plus in addition to the repair side, he sells cars, and manages rental properties, as well as sells real-estate. He should concentrate on one interest and do it well! If not repair, then selling cars, if not that, then property management/real-estate selling. His Dad would love to retire completely and step aside but his son doesn't seem to want to do that. For us, NEVER again. Tells you he can fix it, takes your money, your time. We are retired, on fixed income, taking care of 92+ & 98 year old parents. Our own health is not good and this has caused us increased difficulties.

I dropped off the unit and it was fully rebuilt in 3 - 4 days, fully working perfectly plus it looked brand new. I accepted (Not cheap, but not outrageous). Lots of vehicles in shop. AAA recommended them, tow truck dispatcher even said they use them. I am in town from overseas, in a bit of a bind. I was told it would be ready Monday. WOW. I checked on Friday, it was up on lift with two guys already having everything disassembled. Monday am at 0700 got the call to pick up. That was today. NOW: Its "early", but they did what they said they would do, for what they said they would do, and delivered it on time. I drove it a bit today, and so far so good. Unless it poops out in the next few months, I recommend these guys highly. Even at our initial meeting I was told that I could get the repairs a bit cheaper elsewhere, but they are replacing everything. Honesty works. While I hope to never see them again with this vehicle (which would change my review), if I have issues with another car, or need to recommend someone, these guys are top notch thus far. EXPERIENCE. This is…read morewhat this auto mechanic place is truly about. Dealerships , Car Mechanics are known to be scammers especially when you are a woman having your car checked out. I read reviews re: this place and based on the reviews locals referred people here for auto work . They mentioned alot on the customer service and that their pricing is similar to dealerships. I was on my way to the car share meet up spot this particular morning and my car started to give up - I had this check engine light icon on for a while but the honda dealership (WINTER HAVEN) checked it out sometime last year and it was temporarily off from the dash board but after paying $1k for them to "diagnose" the issue - the light went back on and I gave up. A few months ago my car started jerking at times when I accelerated. But this time the morning of when I was heading out - the car just gave up accelerating. Thank god I was still able to bring my car back to my driveway at 5 MPH. Called AAA and towed my car to Johnnys which they open at 730am. Upon arrival - I seen this location before passing through haines city - But never thought my experience here was 5 stars. When the tow driver was releasing my car - One of the staff asked me - We can give you an UBER to drop you home and pick you up when the car is ready. DEALERSHIPS NEVER OFFER FREE UBER TO THEIR CUSTOMERS not from my dealership! This UBER was out of JOHNNYS automotive EXPENSE! The place looks like a half barber shop and Fords Garage and Cracker Barrel feel. They had rocking chairs seating in the front along with tables, mini golf to play with for downtime while waiting for you car to be fixed etc. They were open slightly before 730 and was welcomed by 2 employees - The inside of this place was clean - smelled good - Very americana - they seem to be a big fan of the sheriff of polk county since you see a poster of him on the door in front of the massage chair area LOL - So u can tell they support locals from businesses/organizations and of course customers. They offer a massage chair which I used and abused LOL There times I caught myself snoring. They offer a section where you can charge your phone, Also a section where they offer array of drinks in a chiller (water and soda cans) - Fresh coffee (NON KEURIG) - Cookies, Pastries, Chips, Beef jerky amongst the snack options that were displayed. A roll of paper towel stand for any messes while snacking. The small details of this place was pretty awesome from the entrance door handle to the decor inside. So while they took in my car to see the issues - I sat in one of the cushioned chairs by the entrance windows - And I was falling asleep. One of the staff said to me - there is a massage chair in the back you can lay there and sleep if you want. At first I did not know how to take that - I thought he just did not want me sleeping in front of customers coming in etc - But I took his advice and the massage chair is located by the other exit door in the back. That area is close to the restroom as well. Be mindful you are facing Sheriff Grady Judd LOL The restroom is clean - And offered air spray / 2 types of soap for use. After waiting for diagnosis - One of the staff came to me and stated the concern. I agreed with the issue and was there from 730 and almost 12pm. I did not feel pressured with any additional sales etc and I felt that they were genuine about the issue which was weird. As I approached my car and sat in it - There was a lilac rose on my dashboard. - and the car had NO dashboard icon lights at all. God willing - its running like its a brand new car again. My car appreciated Johnnys automotive and the EXPERIENCE here is top notch,. Who gives women a rose after doing car business with them? Johnny automotive does. This is not about the rose LOL its about the EXPERIENCE dealing with JOHNNYS AUTOMOTIVE.

A week plus later we were notified the rear axle was bent. Kept calling to find out the status but never any progress. I had to find a used one, after about seven weeks! Had it shipped from AAZZEE in Minn., (GREAT place to work with, by the way). They said they inspect the axel and could not be shipped with fluid. That it is mentioned in the enclosed instructions but a quality repair shop would know this. I picked up our vehicle and drove about 135 miles to visit my aunt. A couple days later I noticed a large oil leak underneath. I called Scott's and the first thing he said is "I didn't do anything to it, I just put it in." The place that removed and replaced the access plate correctly told me the access plate was only hand tightened. Just think of the possible complications had I just headed back to Wisconsin.

The owner is uneducated and not truthful DO NOT waste your time and save yourself the headache. Our SUV was there 2 months without any work being done despite the fact he kept telling us he's waiting for parts and multiple other excuses. He was not man enough to fix damages he caused or even tell us straight up he did not want to fix the car because we called the cops and filed a police report. The shop is a complete mess and Ron is a JOKE. His own employees told us he is being sued by 2 other customers for the same reasons. You've been warned!
