I had the shop inspect my Buick Encore GX, they found the engine and transmission mounts were bad…read moreand needed replacing. I had contacted all the Buick dealerships in Polk county for a repair estimate. I called back to johnny's and they beat the price at the deanships price by over $300. They also did not charge for the inspection and gave me a free loaner car to use for a couple of hours. $ weeks later my mom's Honda Civic was making a noise when the A/C compressor kicked in. The serpentine belt had to be replaced. I shopped all over Polk county and they had the lowest price, could take the vehicle immediately and had it back to me in 3 hours. VERY HONEST, NO INSPECTION FEE, AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I didn't have time this morning to delve further into it, and the thought of her driving without her lights working correctly was not an option. I found Johnny's and sent her there. I called Richard and explained why she was coming in and if they could get her in this morning? "Bring it in and we'll take care of the issues." was his reply. She arrived, they checked her in and found a problem with the wiring harness and the bulb I installed was incorrect. So much for me being a shade-tree mechanic. One they worked it out; they gave her the keys and wished her a nice day. No charge. I manage a diesel repair shop and know full-well how this business works. You want lifetime customers; this is the way. If you don't make this your go-to repair facility, you're flushing your money down the drain. Our expressed appreciation to all of the folks at Johnny's. We first took our van to D & D last September (2025) because our engine light came on and cruise…read morecontrol stopped working. We were leaving for MI the next day after picking up our "fixed" van. On the way, light came on, cruise didn't work. We kept taking it back because it wasn't fixed. They have had it more than we have! During this winter we experienced the same over and over. The van then developed where everytime we put gas in it it wouldn't start. The part they quoted us was almost $500 plus $100 to install. We were able to get the Toyota part from Toyota in Lakeland less than $250. D&D did install the part fixing the hard start. However, the engine light continues to come on and cruise stops. In May we were told a vacuum hose, plugged and capped had been found and they would have to locate a diagram of the engine to know where to connect it. Supposedly this past week the van was fixed. We picked it up Friday evening after dropping it off on Monday. Today, Sunday, the light is back on and cruise has stopped. On more than 1 occasions we were given a day to bring the van in which we would do , it sat for days untouched. Drove by Friday near noon van was where we had left it. We called an hour later told they were just scanning the code , we were called shortly to be told it's fixed and we could pick it up. It appears what happened was the code was reset, the van isn't fixed. We highly DO NOT RECOMMEND D & D. Unless you don't mind paying to have a problem that doesn't get fixed, extremely poor communication, knowing Don when he does show up works from 11am -4pm. But he will be quick to let you know he has a life, plus in addition to the repair side, he sells cars, and manages rental properties, as well as sells real-estate. He should concentrate on one interest and do it well! If not repair, then selling cars, if not that, then property management/real-estate selling. His Dad would love to retire completely and step aside but his son doesn't seem to want to do that. For us, NEVER again. Tells you he can fix it, takes your money, your time. We are retired, on fixed income, taking care of 92+ & 98 year old parents. Our own health is not good and this has caused us increased difficulties.

They denied causing it and claimed it was already like that, but I have proof showing the condition of my car before it was brought in. They also stated that my hood was never opened by them, but after I provided camera footage showing otherwise, the response changed to saying they "so we can't open the hood?"They refused to fix the damage and even threatened to remove me from the property for trespassing instead of trying to resolve the issue. They also refused to provide any video proof showing when they opened my hood.Thankfully, I had my own camera footage and was able to see a mechanic pushing something back into place, which raises even more questions. Their own before pictures don't show the damage being present before the work was done, and the difference between their photos and how my car looked afterward is clear.I know my car was not like this before I brought it in. I wouldn't waste my time making a complaint over something I knew was already there. All I wanted was for them to take responsibility and fix what happened. They also brought up unrelated information about body shops and clips, but that doesn't change the fact that before I went there, my hood opened normally without anything popping out. After getting my car back, it no longer does.At the end of the day, I just wanted honest service and for the issue to be handled properly. Unfortunately, that's not what happened.

Long story short, had to tow car again to Ford Dealership. Mike took the car, inspected it, let me keep it there for weeks and helped with the towing. He did all of this while I was out of the state and didn't charge me a penny! He really made the experience a lot less painful than it could have been. So, for customer service, I give this place the highest rating possible!

The transmission started leaking and codes appeared so I took it back to them and they had it for six weeks before telling me I was all set and that the car was fixed. I drove it home and before leaving Recker Rd. it was slipping into neutral. By the time I got home there was transmission fluid all over the bottom. A local shop says that the front seal isn't seating properly and that my shifter linkage isn't connected properly. Now after two tows there and a whole lot of wasted time Mike says he doesn't want to work on the car! I'm sorry but a good shop would have never returned a car to a customer in this condition and certainly wouldn't leave them high and dry when this happens. My advice...find somewhere else to take your vehicle:(
