One of the things I like most was that I (the customer) would pay directly for the materials - not all contractors and interior designers work that way (I assume they mark up the materials). This option eliminates any possibility of supplier not getting paid - one less thing to worry about. Elizabeth has a few contractors she worked with over the year and she had them come and bid the work, which ended up saving me expenses. Contractors (flooring, slab, plumbing, glass) did excellent work. I had some very specific things in mind, and Elizabeth helped me refine them and also presented some new ideas. She acted as my general contractor as much as she did as an interior designer (there was not general contractor hired for the job).
