I've only had 2 other people I've ever trusted my hair with and Anna Chung is now my third! I messed up on my hair by using boxed dye as I was in a rush but luckily, Anna came to the rescue! She educated me and gave me some tips to get to the color I wanted to be. Anna took me in on her day off and transformed my hair from black/red to light! I will definitely be back for my 2nd, 3rd session and more!! She's very responsive to texts, answering questions, and giving great hair care product recommendations :) she's also great at explaining coloring styles if you're a newbie to this. Go see Anna Chung! I've been going to her for years. She's very friendly and she takes care of you. She listens to what you want and uses quality products for your hair. I normally just get cuts from her but recently got a balayage from her and I love it! I posted before and after pictures. (Excuse the before hair I just got out of bed. Haha) As for cuts my hair used to be legit a birds nest before I took care of it and one time she spent 10 minutes to untangle everything and def saved my hair. Wanting to do a Brazilian Wax for the first time, I had to choose an Esthetician very carefully as 1.) I want to be comfortable with her and 2.) She must do an excellent job and knows what she is doing...obviously. That is where Tracy from Haven Salon fits the description. Knowing how nervous I was, Tracy was super friendly and very funny to we were making jokes which helped ease my anxiety. We even talked about family and just speaking with her during my appointment, I felt like we've been friends for a long time. She never double dips, leaving every wax peel new and fresh. She patiently waits during the times the waxing can be a bit painful, and she doesn't rush to do the next wax. Tracy always made sure I was OK before she proceeds. Around the sensitive areas, she used a sugar wax and the waxing wasn't that painful at all. Tracy definitely takes pride in her work, and she does an excellent job as a skin care artist. I'm really picky when it comes to getting my hair done. I know exactly what I want and I know my hair (A-line, triangular shape, shorter in the back, layered in front). And if there is one thing that I love more than treating my body to good food, it's treating my hair to a fabulous haircut. Plain and simple, I love Haven's. All of their stylists are seasoned, experienced and awesome at what they do. The store has a small-town feel - any stylist you pick will get to know you and treat you like family. And they're as accomodating as possible. They don't try to force you to have a different hair-cut or color then the one that you want, exactly. The prices are a little steeped but it's worth it. All my haircuts come out exactly how I want them and the store itself, is quite comfortable. It's a little bit on the spendier side but for a decent haircut, it's worth it. Also, parking is a breeze. There's a parking lot right outside the store that's barely full. My recommendations are Jenny (my girl!) and Mary, who has been cutting my mom and my hair for about 8 years now. Oh and if you're looking for a place for fantastic updos, these ladies are amazing. They've had plenty of experience what with Poway High being a few miles down the road. I went to this salon and had an appointment with Anna Chung, I went in there for a balayage touch up. She took like 3 hrs to touch up my hair but did a terrible job. My hair was pretty blonde before, and I just wanted to make it lighter, instead she made my hair super orange. Before she started to dye my hair, she assured me that it could easily go lighter, then made my hair orange. She clearly didn't know what she was doing, and gave me false assurance. I was extremely disappointed and when I told her it's not what I wanted, she simply said 'oh it will get lighter' and so far it's just getting more orange. My hair looked way better before this experience. So I would never go to her again, and I had the worst experience and she still asked for $145, you got to be kidding me! read more

I was filtered in my last review for some reason, but I love to update all experiences I have anywhere because yes, they can change. Andrea, my stylist has once again done wonders to my hair. I had my hair cut yesterday and I received a ton of compliments today at work, especially by customers that may have seen me once or twice but noticed a change. It makes me feel good when people I hardly know will notice something like a simple haircut. Andrea does a great job on kids and did my hair on my wedding day. I am so happy with her work. I've never been here but I just called over the phone to get more information on Brazilian waxes and I called once and they didn't answer so I called again right after the first time thinking the must of been busy. A lady answered immediately and told me the lady that does brazilian waxes isn't there and she was very rude and short over the phone. I don't know why there isn't a someone there to do waxes on a Saturday when it's 5:30pm and they don't close until 8pm. Good thing I called before driving there from Ramona.
