I have been to the Poway location twice. The first massage I had was with Angel and her massage skills were EXCELLENT! She applies the perfect amount of pressure while also using techniques to remove the knots in my muscles without it hurting. The massage left me feeling so relaxed and renewed. The second time I went back for my massage, I asked for Angel again and she did not disappoint! Her hands are so delicate, yet really strong! I absolutely love going to Angel for my massages and will continue to ask for her each time I book an appointment with Serenity Spa in Poway. The owner/manager is very nice and seems to be the only one that speaks English! LOL. She was helpful in leading me to the restroom and she knew my appointment time exactly. Overall, she's definitely one that cares about this establishment! I got a 90m deep tissue. I really needed it! My body is aching so much! This place is quiet and I dont hear others in their respective rooms. I told the manager (I think) what areas I needed work on and she relayed that to my masseuse. I definitely got my shoulders focused on and it was great. I really needed this relaxing moment and my kinks all kneaded out. 90m felt like 30m. Its always too fast! Relaxing Experience and Noticeable Results I had a pleasant experience at Spa Serenity overall. The massage was relaxing, and I appreciated that hot stones were incorporated into the session, which was a nice touch since that is often an additional service elsewhere. I also enjoyed some of the neck techniques that were used and found them effective. One thing that stood out was that I noticed improved hip mobility the following day, particularly in my outer hips. As someone who is regularly active that was a meaningful benefit and something I genuinely appreciated. The main reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the experience felt less personalized than I expected. I wasn't asked about any specific problem areas, areas of tension, or goals for the session beforehand. I would have appreciated a brief consultation and a more customized approach. While some of the techniques felt beneficial, especially for my neck, they were only used briefly before moving on to other areas. That said, the therapist was pleasant, I left feeling relaxed, and I did notice a positive improvement in mobility afterward. Came here a couple of weeks ago. SERVICE - While we were waiting for our massage, a woman who had just finished hers was in the lobby when her massage therapist came out holding cash and yelled at her: "This is all you're going to tip me?! For one hour?!" Regardless of the tip amount, this was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. MASSAGE - The massage itself was disappointing. It felt like the therapists didn't know what they were doing. Even worse, midway through my session, the therapist switched from a female to a male without asking for my consent. That was completely unacceptable. Overall, the spa felt unclean. The environment was unprofessional, and the massage were far from relaxing. We would not recommend this place or return. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. The facility was clean, and the music they had was very relaxing. I had Suros as my masseuse and he did a fantastic job on my Swedish massage. My body was quite tense going in, and now I feel much lighter! I can't compliment Suros enough, him and the staff are humble, kind, and very welcoming. I will definitely come back to Spa Serenity. I have always loved Spa Serenity. I came here often when I was pregnant for the prenatal massage because they had the best service and the best price. I just came for a 90 minute regular massage now that I'm not pregnant and it was absolutely amazing. I was sad that my girl Lily was gone but I had Lu Lu yesterday and she was wonderful. Literally one of the best massages I've had and their prices are so good. Lu Lu had the perfect pressure, she was detail oriented and was really getting into all the little muscles. I've found that sometimes, people can massage on the spine which hurts me but she had really good awareness to go around the spine and not on it. I started coming to Spa Serenity for the Thai Sports Massage about two months ago due to stress and muscular pain issue I was dealing with. My regular masseuse Ella is amazing at what she does. She is attentive, recognizes high tension areas and every time I walk out of Spa Serenity after a massage I feel incredibly calm and refreshed. This is an update to my review from last week. I went in today to try another massage with them. When I made this appointment last week I told the owner that I needed someone who speaks English so that I could communicate with him/her. This is why she recommended Vima. Vima allegedly was born in the US and speaks fluent English. When I arrived I confirmed with the owner that Vima would be doing my massage and she said yes. When the masseuse came in I asked her name--it was not Vima. I asked her if she spoke English. She said "no". Last week I told the owner that if Vima was not there to do the massage that I would leave. When I found out that the owner had lied to me I got dressed and left. The owner had the audacity to tell me I was being unreasonable. At this point I doubt that any of the profiles online are even accurate. The reason I say this is that neither Sonos nor Vima are listed on their website as part of the team, even though Sonos was the person who did my prior massage and he was there today. I want to add an issue from prior experience with this spa from when they were located in Carmel Mountain. We had been given gift cards and, when we tried to use them, they told us the gift cards were not valid and couldn't be used. In general, I don't believe the management at this spa can be trusted at all. I will be looking for a different place to use. Do not trust this owner! ------------------------------------------------ I've been to Spa Serenity once so far and am going to try it again next week. I made my reservation online and, based on the bios, I selected Angel for my service. When I arrived I was shown to a private room where I got ready for my massage. Instead of Angel, a man named Sonos came in. He spoke no English. The manager came back in and I asked about Angel, who it turns out was not available. I agreed to try Sonos and I had the manager translate for me. I asked for him to concentrate on my lower back as that is where I have been having pain. The manager said to try him for 10 minutes and to call her if I wasn't satisfied. Sonos started and an hour later he was still working on my back! I asked him if he was going to do the rest of my body. His massage was very good but, after an hour on my back I needed the rest done. Sonos then spent about 15-20 minutes on my left foot. Again I asked about the rest of my body. He switched to my right foot for a few minutes and then did my legs. He didn't get to my arms as we ran out of time. Unfortunately the massage did not alleviate my pain but I am going to try them once more and see if Vima can help. If Vima is not there when I go next week I will cancel and find another salon. I will update after the next appointment and hopefully improve the score. read more

Unfortunately not the best customer experience. I made a reservation online for a 1.5 hour massage only to find out that the masseuse (Angel) I booked was already giving a massage to someone else. So she was double booked and the times overlapped. Ok no problem. I can see someone else sure, unfortunately there was no other women masseuse available. The woman at the front desk kept trying to get me to get a massage from the man that was available, but I told her 3 different times I wanted a woman, which is why I booked online. They had no record of my online reservation. The woman asked to see my email confirmation as proof I booked online. I showed her both the email and text confirmations. Not sure if their online booking works for this location, since she showed me her booking book which they manually write the booked services. So gave them 2 stars since the spa looked clean, and there was lots of parking available. I can't speak to the quality or experience of the massage. Unfortunately, minus 3 stars since my online booking was no where to be found and I waisted time driving there and back home. Also I noticed the prices are different in store ($10 more) than what is published on their website. I feel if you're going to book ahead of time, call them instead, as their online booking either does work, or they don't know how to use it at this location. read more

I've been coming to spa serenity regularly for close to a year, especially after long exhausting work trips. The therapists here are always able to work out the painful knots on my body. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reset. One caveat is that sometimes they get busy so make sure to call before heading over to avoid long waits. read more

My girlfriend booked a couple's massage for Valentine's Day. It was clear they had overbooked the time we had scheduled with them, as another couple was given the "couples room" at our time and we had to be separated. But they did extend the massage by 30 mins as an apology. Where it gets interesting (and frustrating) was that there was group of 3 masseuses rotating between my girlfriend and I's rooms, and at certain points were leaving the doors to the rooms open to communicate with each other. Very uncomfortable considering how exposed we were. As far as the massage itself, I would describe it as inconsistent. Which I would assume is hard to stay consistent when it's rotation of masseuses instead of just one person. There was a large amount of time dedicated to my mid + low back and glutes, but the technique was very aggressive and painful. Every where else felt glossed over and rushed. The only true positive I could say was the head massage. The most frustrating part was my girlfriend initially had a woman but then randomly a male masseuse started massaging her. It was never communicated and she was never asked if she was okay with a man touching her, and she felt very uncomfortable after unexpectedly hearing a man's voice tell her to turn over. She also noticed people coming in and out of her room while one masseuse was working on her. read more

We showed up & the man up front had no reservations. I had to state repeatedly-couples massage & facial. He brought out a woman to help eventually & took us back to where they do massage. A large room with curtain separations. But he took us to one bed so again I tell him couples massage then he shows me another section with 2 beds. The staff is nice, but I'm very disappointed with my experience. I requested hot stones and aromatherapy as my two add ons. I got aromatherapy and a foot scrub instead. She offered to do the hot stones after I told her, but I had to go. I wish they could have gotten it right the first time. Massage therapists also switched half way and didn't let me know. For the price, the massage was good. The only advice I'd give to the business is to ask where the problem areas are. The masseuse kept digging her elbow in my thighs and it kinda hurt.
