The food here is good. That's a positive. They were also open on Christmas Day, while most places weren't. We paid more for the Holiday Prix Fixe at Haven than we did for a four-course prix fixe prime rib Christmas Eve dinner in midtown Manhattan the day before. But again, since it was one of the only restaurants open on Christmas Day, and since it's Maui, we weren't too bothered by the price. What was galling was the service. This was some of the worst service I've ever experienced--even giving credit where credit is due for a clearly understaffed Christmas Day. We waited 20 minutes to check in for our reservation before we were even asked for the name. We were seated about 45 minutes after our original reservation time. Dinner took two and a half hours to be served. We didn't see our waiter for 15, 20, 30 minutes at a time. I swear I hurt my neck craning it around, looking for him. It was nearly impossible to flag anyone down for service. The bus cleared our utensils with the appetizers, and we had to hunt down a different staff member for new utensils when entrees hit the table half an hour later because nobody brought any in the interim. We also had to hunt down our waiter just to order dessert. He dropped off the dessert menu and then literally never came back. This was not an isolated experience. The group that checked in right after us was seated next to us, but they weren't seated until after we'd finished our first course. They didn't receive any food until we were leaving. Haven also charges more if you're paying with card than if you pay with cash. For the honor of being largely ignored for about two and a half hours, you too can expect to pay around $600 for a flavorful, but by no means superb, dinner for four. read more

We sat out on patio to enjoy view of harbor. Scott was extremely friendly & attentive, making sure glasses stayed full. He even got me malt vinegar for beer batter fish & chips, very good. First time visiting this new location. The food and service from our waiter was amazing. I had the rock shrimp app and it was AWESOME. The burger also killer. BUT my big shout out goes to the young male host that was working on 02/02. I used to manage restaurants and he really made the experience. I used to train all my staff and I was so impressed by his hospitality. He was kind, made eye contact, conversation. I can tell he really loves working here and really cares about the guest experience. If I was a restaurant manager I would be poaching him! Well done, havens! read more

Food was amazing! Best meal we ate in Maui hands down! We had several items-mushroom risotto was surprise favorite for me, also had the 54oz tomahawk steak special which was phenomenal! Went with a group of 7 ladies- we all love dining out and we were all impressed with the food and the service! Most of our conversation during dinner was about how good each dish was! The vibe of the restaurant is very inviting and the evening view of the boats in the harbor is picturesque and makes it an ideal place for the whole family or a date night. Food is a bit pricey even by Maui standards but it is great. The servers are attentive and the restaurant/bathrooms are always very clean.

The absolute best restaurant in all maui and I'm a local foodie! the atmosphere was magical, manager Lance was knowledgeable and entertaining, waiter Scott was by far the best waiter and made everything perfect! we celebrated our 35 year anniversary and Cant imagine another place in Maui for it! Too expensive for what you get. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. We went early, 4:30ish, to enjoy some happy hour appetizers before our dinner. We had the ahi nachos and a fish taco. The nachos were good, but definitely pricey at $23, happy hour. The fish taco was tiny. The single tortilla was probably about 4", at $7. I had the Maalaea margarita at $15, it was spicier than I expected. I thought the mango would balance out the chili pepper water, but it didn't. Also, I waited a good 20 minutes to get it. By then, it was dinner time, so I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the grilled ahi. We also ordered Brussel sprouts to share. The scallops were amazing, but at $55, I would hope so. There were 5 average sized scallops so $11 each. The ahi was okay. It was cooked well but there wasn't much flavor to the dish, however the presentation was beautiful. Our main complaint was it was more of an appetizer portion than an entree portion, and at $47, I would've expected more. The Brussel sprouts at $14 were the only decently priced item as the portion matched the price. With taxes and tip, we paid over $200 and left hungry. I can't imagine this restaurant staying in business. The food was good, but way overpriced for the portions (The fish special was 6oz for $54). Everything is ala carte, so you don't get anything but the entree. I love to support local businesses, and we actually knew some of the staff, but this one will be a no go for us in the future. read more

Hit and miss menu with unusual selections. Starting with the 'wedge' salad, it was butter lettuce with a dressing that nobody cared for much. The baked focaccia bread was good, but the selection of entrees were lacking. We ordered the spinach mafaldine, manila clams, filet mignon and mahi catch of the day. All were mediocre at best, with premium pricing. The best thing of the whole meal were the malasadas for dessert. Our party of 5 (4 locals and one visitor) made a res and went last evening. We arrived and the restaurant was only half full but we were immediately taken to a table in the far back of the inside near the service door. There were several water view tables available. When we said we'd prefer a view we had to wait another 10 minutes to be seated (not sure why since the table they ultimately brought us to had been set and ready). The waiter, Nate, was pleasant enough but didn't seem comfortable. Our family of 3 ordered several appetizers and main dishes. The other two ordered 3 main dishes with the scallop main dish to be served as their appetizer. This didn't happen. So they watched us eat ours. We then waited almost 30 minutes for our main dishes and instead the waiter came back to tell us two of our main dishes were no longer available and handed us menus! Ran out of lobster and kampachi. After finally getting all our food, I'll say everything tasted good. Not great but good although not to the level of the prices. As locals I doubt we will be back. read more

We just had the best lunch of our lives! Maria was our waitress and she was an absolute angel. So sweet and attentive. They weren't busy and she even held our 6 month old so we could eat. The food was fantastic. We had smash burgers, fries, crab rangoons and the Mahi mahi. The cocktails were so good, the view was stunning and truly we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We ordered wedge salad, maui ohana wagyu croquettes, and ohi moana. We waited quite a while. We had to order our second glass of wine. Then all the dishes came altogether. Salad was warm, main was not warm anymore. Taste was not so bad, but because of inappropriate temperature, it felt tasteless. And volume was not enough, but we decided not to have dessert there due to unsatisfactory feeling. Can't believe it cost more than $200. Definitely not coming back. read more

My wife and i where ttere for late lunch, Shannon a friendly and knowledgeable waitress drive us trough the menu and recommendations...it was a fabulous experience to feel again the Island spirit. Their cocktails are well balance and tasty, they have a great happy hour from 3pm. But the food was the most delectable and at a reasonable price... You can taste the freshly greens , the delicate sauces and side dishes, you know they have great chef working, you can taste the difference. As a resident I've followed Haven's from a bodega burger join to a full fledged restaurant. The food is nothing short of exceptional. Haven Harboraide has a beautiful atmosphere and menus scale from casual lunch to elevated dinner! This is an amazing addition to Maui dining scene. Extremely rude Manager as we tried to come in and get the last 20 minutes of happy hour (4:40 exactly). Please don't advertise happy hour from 3-5 and then be extremely unwelcoming to locals who come here often. He also said there wasn't any seating for us when I saw about 20 open tables. I really dont appreciate being treated that way especially in a harbor I work at daily. I understand you are trying to streamline your dinner service but next time don't shoo away locals like we don't have money to spend. Change your judgemental attitude please. read more

I've eaten here three times. The first time was not long after it opened and a friend was raving about it. When I went the food was amazing. Everything we had was delicious and the service was great. They offered a kamaaina discount which was nice as it's expensive restaurant. The next time I went we did a large party for a birthday. The food was not as good, and service was bad, with dishes coming out way off timing and not hot. The third time was a couple weeks ago. The food was a mixed bag, with some things good (burger, poi falafel) and some things bad (caesar salad - way too fishy, cold fries). The service was great, but they did not give kamaaina discount anymore unless you sit at the bar. IMO that's a deal breaker, given the high prices and drop in quality. On this particular night it wasn't busy either, so not offering a discount when sitting outside was disappointing. I'm not sure I'll be back after paying over $200 for a burger, some sides, and a couple drinks. read more

Ambiance was sterile. Nighttime was far too bright. Mai tais were very tart. Ribeye was excessively fatty-I would never purchase one such as this to cook at home and could have done so for 1/4 of the price.--Prices are VERY high. However, I do hope they make it. Heard about the "new" restaurant and went to check it out. The service was top notch, our server was very knowledgeable, overlooking the harbor was lovely, we actually saw some whales in the distance. We got the Ohi Moana, diver scallops, and broccolini; food was delicious. We took a chance with the Ubi velvet cake since neither of us had heard of it... and it was also delicious, totally worth the risk. There isn't much fine dining between Kaanapali and Wailea. The food was astronomically expensive. Wailea resort prices with mediocre service and atmosphere.Table settings were not up to standard for pricing. Our server was not knowledgeable on the menu. The poi cakes were dry with no flavor. They were kind enough to split the salad that we shared, which was tasty. The broccolini was cold., and our steak came out medium when we ordered it, medium rare. They did recook the steak, but then we had to wait again. I am thankful they gave us, Kama'aina, but I will most likely not go back. $150 for a pupu, a salad, one steak on a plate and a small side of a vegetable. A meal basically for one. Too bad.
