My experience with Havertown Roofing and Siding has been outstanding. From start to finish, Bill, was responsive, informative, and very effective. During a heavy windstorm five days before Christmas, a six-foot strip of aluminum flashing was dislodged from the roof of my house. Bill responded on the same day that I messaged him to request an on-site estimate to repair or replace the capping strip. The next day, he came to the house twice--first while my wife and I had made a brief run to the grocery store, when he quickly assessed the situation and called me with his proposed solution, and he returned shortly thereafter. Unlike other better known (and highly marketed) companies that insisted that the strip was not repairable and would need to be replaced with a custom-made new piece to be installed on a separate appointment date, Bill was able to restore the piece to its original shape and secure it in place--all in less than an hour. In his work, Bill is honest, professional and incredibly reasonable. He literally saved me at least $400 for the bare minimum replacement cost proposed by other companies and just about double that if I had agreed to the "better" option of replacing additional stretches of flashing. I would not hesitate to use Havertown Roofing and Siding again and would highly recommend it with confidence to others as well. read more

I recently solicited estimates on a full roof replacement (whatever was necessary) from four very reputable contractors in Delco and ended up choosing Havertown Roofing to complete the job. The initial quote included all materials including replacing plywood underneath which they could estimate because they walked the roof to inspect it and knew exactly what it would take. They came and did the job when they said they would & after a few storms it's still not leaking & looks great. That, combined with the customer service I received from Sandy, Erin, Brian, Bill, Paul & the crew that installed the roof makes me feel the need to post this positive review on the page. He was able to seal the flashing and cracks around the chimney where the water was coming in. He did it right on the spot, and he wouldn't let me pay. Roof replacement Pros: Owner provided timely estimate, and did not ask for payment until I was 100% satisfied with the work. Owner also ensured all quality issues (I.e. mistakes) were corrected to my satisfaction. Customer service was outstanding throughout entire process. Cons: Way too many major mistakes caused by, what I can guess, is inexperienced labor. Had the owner not responded to these mistakes in such a timely and professional manner, I would have written a very poor review. My advice to the owner is to find and fix your mistakes BEFORE the customer discovers the issues after the crew departs. read more

A piece of siding broke off my three story house and it was blowing in the wind. I called my siding guy who said he doesn't get up on ladders any more and suggested I call Havertown Roofing and Siding. I am a senior senior citizen with no way to fix the problem myself. Very disappointed with Havertown Roofing. In the past we have had excellent success and very pleased with the service however this summer we contacted Havertown Roofing for an estimate for work on the fascia and soffits. Did not receive the estimate until September. We agreed to the work and signed the estimate and to date (11/27/19) the work has not begun. The response from the team regarding when the work would begin was basically non-existent. When we finally received a start date. There was a no show with not even the curtesy of a phone call or text. After leaving two phones call and several text message with no response we have decided to move on to another contractor. read more

Everything from the initial communication, to the estimate, to the first round of work, went smoothly. Everything after that, has been total misery. The second they had payment in hand, they became unresponsive to LEAKS. My roof continues to leak, as does a window they failed to cap correctly. My attic is wrecked as are 4 rooms in my house. Continued calls go unanswered. Someone showed up on a Thursday morning to look at the damage, said he'd be back in the afternoon, and never showed, or called. Complete misery dealing with this business. They do not stand behind their work. There's a reason they don't have a public email address, nor an actual website. They aren't a reputable business. Siding and J-channel doesn't meet windows, flashing poorly done, attention to detail is a joke. Businesses that take your money and deliver substandard services are in fact thieves. We were initially pleased with Havertown Roofing's responsiveness. They answered our call quickly, were on time to look at the repair, and gave us a reasonable estimate. Consequently, we paid them $2,000 for roof repairs in May. The work was grossly substandard and we sent pictures and complained to what we believe is one of the owners (Ryan). Ryan agreed that the work was substandard and said he would fire the head of the crew and return personally to supervise the repairs. After Ryan did not return to make the promised repairs, we did not want to waste anymore time and requested a refund, which he agreed to and promised to "put the check in the mail." Almost two weeks later, we have not gotten a check from them, the repairs they did are deteriorating by the minute, and we are out of significant, hard-earned funds. Do not use them unless you just like to burn your money and like the risk of still having a leaky roof. Havertown Roofing does substandard work and makes promises they do not keep. They have kept $2,000 that they promised to return to us. This makes them dishonest. We waited to post this review to give them a chance to take corrective measures. No such luck. They should be listed as Fast and Shoddy Havertown Roofers. read more

Excellent quality of work. We had Havertown Roofing put a brand new roof on our house about 5 years ago. They did an excellent job and recommended some nice improvements to the structure under the 3 layers of shingles (which they removed for a fresh roof). Last week, We had a tree drop a dead branch and puncture a hole through the shingles and roof and they came out and had a very fair estimate and in 45 minutes or so to work was done! Very honest company. I've never written contractor reviews on yelp before but feel I have to write one for them. I accidentally sent $785 to them by mistake - the check was meant for my landscaper who is right next to havertown roofing in my billpay system and I was careless. I thought the money was totally lost when I realized the mistake, because the check was cashed already (later I realized it was probably cashed automatically, since they seem to use the same bank as mine), and havertown roofing no longer works at the property. Haven't for nearly three years. More on this later. I called anyway, thinking, well just in case. To my surprise, they immediately acknowledged receipt of the check and that it was a clear mistake, and they had put a refund check in mail! That was last Thursday. Sure enough, I received the check yesterday (Monday). WOW!!! I always knew they were honest, but this, this is really, really honest and kind! A rare trait in today's world, especially the contractor trade. They worked on the shingle roof of my previous house. Brian fixed various problems on that roof. He was always on time, reasonable in price, very responsive, and always personable. Unfortunately I moved, and the new house has a cedar roof which they don't handle. Brian still cleaned the gutters of the new house for me a couple of times. I'm not quite sure why that service stopped....All I could think of is this: I needed some work done on the cedar roof, and Brian recommended his cousin who worked on cedar roof. I called the cousin but he just never came out to look at the job or called me back. Eventually I had to hire someone else. Brian somehow seemed to be offended by me hiring another contractor? Anyway it was strange although I could see that this company valued loyalty.....which is a good thing but perhaps a bit misplaced in this case if I might say so. Well, to sum up: they are the best kind of contractor out there. HONEST, competent and reasonable. I wish they would work on cedar roofs. I had 5 quotes for some patch work on my roof. Nearly every company suggested the issues had more to do with siding than the roof and gave me quotes in the $1900-$2200 range (or suggested a $500 hose test to see where the leak was before doing anything else which would involve cutting dry wall in my house). Havertown Roofing and Siding were the last people I had out. Brian came and said that my siding install was "weird" he wasn't even sure of what the backing was and it was definitely holding moisture, and suggested we start by redoing it (which was in line with previous quotes). He said my existing siding was fine and could be reused, he just had to fix the mounting behind it. For $300 dollars and about 1.5 hours of his time my siding was redone. The same service other companies wanted $2000 for! He even casually left the bill and suggested I not pay it until we have a heavy rain in case we need to go back in. While I don't know if this is an exact fit, it is what 4 out of 5 people recommended so I"m happy with the honest price. I have learned a lesson: when it comes to this type of work I'm looking for local small businesses. They have the most to gain from a continued relationship and Havertown Roofing and Siding will have my business while I stay at this location! read more

Whenever possible, I like to use local, small businesses. I received several recommendations for these guys from my community's Facebook network, so I decided to give them a call. They came out to look things over and give us an estimate. We were under the impression, based on the home inspector's opinion when we bought the house, that we would need a whole new roof. Bill (the owner) checked out the roof and then went with my husband up into our attic to see if there were any issues up there. His recommendation was NOT for a whole new roof; in fact, he said to my husband that he could recommend a new roof, but he has to sleep at night. That kind of honesty is sorely lacking these days, especially with certain contractors! Bill left us with an estimate that was so amazing and less than what we anticipated, that we didn't feel the need to get any other quotes. When the work was finally scheduled, they were there a bit longer than I anticipated based on the extent of what needed to be done, but other than that, this was a wonderful experience from start to finish! I just called this location asking if they service Philadelphia. The location is right outside of Havertown approximately 1 mile from Havertown if that. The receptionist says let me check and places me on hold for about 5 seconds. She returns and says I'm sorry no we don't. My response was "even if its right outside of Havertown." She replies I don't think so. If she had checked, as she said she would, she wouldn't have to think. A receptionist who fails to ascertain information for a potential customer is bad for business.
