I was greeted by an associate who I explained what I was looking for. I had purchased a set last year and wanted to purchase the ottomans that matched. While assisting me he stepped away to go help another customer who had come in after me looking at a living room set. I was left standing there waiting for my sale to be completed. While he chit chatted with the woman and her family who were exploring options. I asked another associate to assist me with my purchase. Once she started helping me. The gentleman came back over and took over the completion of the sale. This is not how customer service should be received. I am so thrilled about the new loveseat I purchased with the patience and expert design services from Donovan and Maurice. Picking out a sofa can be stressful and I am not a shopper. Donovan made it stress free and very enjoyable. So many lovely choices and his expert advice helped me narrow it down in a timely manner. He then introduced me to Maurice who used his expert design sense to help me pick out the perfect colors/textures for all the fluffy down pillows. I really had fun and that has never happened with any of the sofas I have purchased in the past. No pressure. No rush. Just helping me figure out what would be best for me. That's how it should be. Ask for Craig! Just moved back to FL and needed to replace rooms of furniture and bits/pieces that I didn't move cross country. Prior to moving out west 10 years ago had always had a good experience at Haverty's so they were our 2nd store to visit. Walked through the door and Craig greeted me (Mr. Spouse kept walking....he cannot stand salespeople & his attitude shows). It wasn't totally warm & fuzzy w/ Craig at first, but he was able to walk & talk as fast as me as I started to zip through the store (big brownie points). He was patient, non-pushy, & very detail-oriented. I'd pick something, change my mind, then find something else completely different. He kept up with me every step of the way without ever getting fussy. He got the designer involved to give me peace of mind that my mixy-matchy wood and metal wasn't going to clash. And she helped me find some rugs to pull everything together. When Craig finally got to sit down at the computer to enter my large order, he didn't drop a single item....not even the stuff I picked out with the designer that she rattled off when we got back to him. He explained payment options, warranty options, the delivery process then took me to the cashier office to pay and set up delivery. He stayed with us until we walked out the front door to our car. This rating impacks me as well, being the customer (I should of had/have known better)...since I tried to educate myself about buying leather furniture first, and my key question was, is it real genuine leather or bonded leather. I was informed that it was genuine leather...and as of July 2020, not true. Note: The furniture (sofa/love seat) were purchased in Nov 2019, at the Havertys located in Brandon, FL... and yes, it has started to flaked in spots. Now with additional researching, this is what I must deal with... "As you use your furniture you will find out that the material is not a solid surface and with use, the bonding will fail. When the material is stretched, the pieces of leather will begin to separate, causing the unsightly peeling. Bonded leather peeling effect is the result of the tiny pieces of leather being pulled free of the backing and flaking off." Searches will state that there is a large difference in pricing of real vs. bonded leather...but there is no mentioning regarding the mark-up (pricewise or percentage-wise). We purchased two sets of couches and love seats from Havertys and the warranty with each transaction. In 2016, when we tried to use our warranty the store wanted us to pay additional money because they no longer carry our couch and love seat. I complained to Havertys Corporate Office and they took care of everything at no cost. In December 2018, I submitted another claim with Guardsman due to the leather discoloration. Guardsman denied my claim so I contacted Havertys in Brandon and they agreed to replace the couch and love seat, but again the store no longer carries our set. The store manager said he would refund me 80% of my original purchase and discount the replacement couch and love seat for my cost of $2,000 + an additional $400 for my 5 year warranty in which we only had these couches for two years of the current 5 year deal. We have Havertys Furniture in our formal living room and would like to stay customers for these couches but this warranty we purchased will cost me an additional $2,400 to use. This does not sound like a warranty to me it sounds like poor customer service. I would like Havertys Corporate Office to help me again because the Brandon Store Management refuses to do so. read more

Paid $4,066.35 9/15/2020 for a powered couch, love seat and recliner. Received on 12/11/2020 and within a couple months, one couch switch went out. Had to wait months for a new one. Then the same one went out again but was told sorry, out of warranty and we didn't buy the +$500 extended warranty. They sold us a switch but turns out, not the switch. During the last month the recliner works, then doesn't then reclines half way and stops. Then doesn't work at all. The furniture is nice but just over a year and electronics faulting everywhere. What a WASTE of +$4,000. Not going to call service as these things are faulty and we're sure it will be EXPEN$IVE and never ending. Going to have to shop again but NEVER will shop at Haverty's nor recommend them to anyone. Not the sales or service people's fault, just faulty merchandise! Made a purchase of $2000 for 0% that apparently was only 18 months. Got hit with a $980 interest charge in October that is now ballooned to $1500. Almost every other furniture store does 36 months or longer. Now, because of these clowns, I am going to be paying an extra 50% for what I purchased forever. Not happy. Ironically, we just looked for a brand new sectional couch in Havertys happen to be one of the stops. Their couch was the front runner even though it was gonna cost about $3000, but my poor experience from before let me to convince my wife that this was not the place for us. Nice furniture store with good selection. Prices are higher than many other stores but you get what you pay for. Had problems with leather living room set we bought almost a year ago and have had a repair guy out twice. They did done repair the first time but last week said he had not seen anything quite like that and recommended a full replacement. It was still within our year warranty so entire new set being delivered next week. No hassle at all. Just glad they still had the sane set as we love it. Customer service is great and little wait time on weekdays but weekends can be quite busy. Bought additional items today and because replacement delivery already scheduled they waived all delivery fees which saved $100. Check out all areas of store as hidden treasures may be tucked away in other areas. Today bought an amazing console table that folds out to a full size dining room table when needed. Such a cool idea when space is limited. Perfect for my house and although I wasn't looking for anything as soon as I saw how it was dual purpose I knew it was calling my name and my credit card. I couldn't be more disappointed in this company! We purchased a $2000.00 couch 2 years ago and the colors is all coming off and the leather is cracking. We purchased the cleaning and care supplies from them and no other supplies have been used. We are a couple in our 50's with no pets and no children living at home so this is not the result of abuse. We purchased a 5 year warranty also. The spots on the couch were "painted" by the warranty company, Gaurdsman, a few months ago and now it's coming off once again. We have begged Havertys to help us with this but they simply won't. They say it's not their problem since it's been over a year. Well I expected a $2000.00 couch to last much longer than this. We went to Havertys expecting to buy the best and was willing to pay extra for it. If I were you I would look elsewhere. Very very poor customer service ! The furniture protection doesn't cover cores or cushions as the salesperson told us it would. Called guardsman about protection plan, what a joke. No one cares at all claim was put in pending status after no response for a week, had to wait again to be told claim was disputed. Called Havertys in Brandon talked to office manager Robin she said she would see what she could do. No call back after a week. Called and she said it wasn't covered even though the salesperson said it was. She then said that salesperson was no longer there to dispute it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!! They will tell you anything to buy high priced furniture then not live up to their end of the deal. Update over 2 months later .... Havertys agreed to make everything right with the furniture BUT have only recieved one core due to miss orders, missed appointments from havertys service tech, incorrect ordering and horrible customer service which has told many contradictory stories as to why they don't have the parts yet. For this much stress and hassle go somewhere else Latest service technician update. Called on Wednesday saying that core had finally been delivered and I requested that they verify all parts before coming on Saturday and they stated they would. Technican comes and forgot the core after almost missing given window when he would be here ! Called customer no service and they stated they would just have to reschedule for core ! Consumers should know Havertys sells furniture they claim is leather but is extremely thin, fragile bonded leather. I was going to compliment the design service, which was nice to work with, but those ladies must know that they are selling you disposable furniture. I took some pictures before I started duct taping, I'll see if I can post them. Also the bottom dust covers disintegrated and fell out of all our dining room chairs, so don't buy those either unless you want a big mess. read more

Havertys is terrible. I paid for a table weeks ago and have had nothing but incompetence from this company since. First customer service somehow cancelled my order, even though I paid in full. Then they came to pick up my existing table, without my new one. Next the replacement table came severely damaged, so still no table. Then on the 3rd attempt, truck shows up and they don't have the table on the truck. This is after 10 weeks of wait, over $2,000 paid, missing work 3 times to wait for delivery that didn't happen. We had purchased at Haverty's in Brandon a few years ago, had a good experience, and decided to go back when we needed some new furniture. We were greeted by Anthony Graddy and started our search for the perfect chairs. Easy, right? Not really if one person is 5'3" and the other one is 6'2". Anthony patiently led us around the showroom explaining fabric vs. leather, options each chair had, and he even looked up customer ratings when we asked. He spent a good deal of time making sure that we would pick the right choice for us. We finally picked our chairs and by then it was a little past closing time. Instead of keeping Anthony longer, we went back again to complete the purchase. We would highly recommend this great guy to anyone. What poor Customer Service! We purchased a sectional back in 2017 I was told by the sales person that it was a good quality sectional cushions would last a long time here I am three years later to my sectional pieces cushions are sagging back is up against the frame and see cushion is sagging as well!! Call guardsmen opened up a claim for the extended warranty was denied twice stating that they wasn't covered and was normal wear and tear! Call top drawer service for Havertys and they were anything but top drawer! Was told that the only thing they can do would be a $400 gift card which I could only use in the store! Why would I ever buy another piece of furniture from this supposed "high end" furniture retailer again!! You are sold a bag of goods when you go there to make a large purchase and nobody in the company gives a damn! So disappointed with this company will never buy a piece of furniture from them again and $5000 later we are stuck with a sagging sectional!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE CHAIN THEY WILL RIP YIU OFF AND NOT LOOK BACK ON IT. No compassion whatsoever which is really disturbing to say the least!! Haverty's Furniture in Brandon Florida...NOT a good experience. We ordered a very expensive sectional sofa and 2 end tables in mid-March. We were told everything would be delivered quickly except for an end table which would take approximately 5 weeks at most, and more than likely, within 2 weeks. The sofa came in poor shape and looked used to say the least. It was wrinkled and under stuffed. Only one end table came. It had marks on it that were missing stain. I told the delivery people to take it all back and they assured me Havertys would replace the sofa and they could color the marks on the end table with a marker and nobody would be the wiser. They colored the end table and it looked fine. I called the store and they replaced the sofa. (Still doesn't look like the floor model but it will due because it's comfortable. The 2nd end table was not on the truck but when I spoke to the store they assured me it would be here within the 5 week original time frame. A few days before the original delivery date, the store called and said due to a ship in the Suez Canal the table would now be delivered in mid May. Well, the date of delivery (2 months after purchase) it arrives and was literally falling apart while the delivery man was wheeling it in. Now, mind you, this end table is on the sales floor at over $600 for one end table....not cheap. Large splinters of wood were falling off the table from the front and back, it appeared to have been dropped. I told the delivery man to load it back on the truck and he totally agreed. The photos he took of it didn't show all the damage but it was awful. We called Havertys and the next delivery date was now end of July! 4 months from the date we bought it! Unacceptable! Spoke to manager, he reluctantly said if we wanted the floor model we could have it. We went to the store and said it looked fine. New delivery date....9 days from now. Not a good experience and not even offered any money off! I will never buy there again. read more

New to the area my husband and i went to alot of furniture places. Most were cheap furniture made of partical board that would not last long. Haverty's was our last stop of the night and we were very specific on what we wanted. The sales man listened and told us he did not have much for options however this is one couch that fits our criteria. We wanted L shaped couch made for two, with cushions that were reversable. We wanted comfort, and a did not want to spent more than $1,000. The couch we got was 4899, we added delivery for $99 and go the protection plan. He did a great job! I had the pleasure of working with Eva today. She was very knowledgeable about the products Havertys' carries. She allowed me the freedom to walk around the store on my own and seek her out once I knew what I wanted. She did not hover and smother me like other sales associates do in other stores. Eva made some suggestions about the products I was interested in. She completed the purchase in a very friendly manner and was very efficient in processing the order. I did not mind paying more for the tables as the quality is excellent compared to the other places I was looking at. Havertys wasn't my first choice but they were my final & clear choice after Eva was up front and honest about the cost of the items and delivery. Another store I was going to purchase at that morning, the sales person was new as I found out later and he lied to me about the delivery time & "free" shipping. update Jul 15th. It pays to be a satisfied customer. Today, Jul 15th, received replacement couch and loveseat. After checking furniture back/front/sideways, etc., it is in much better shape than original purchase. I am now happy after initial purchase of Jun 25th.... Updated star rating, but in meantime, would wholly suggest to all to watch Havertys... Will I purchase any more furniture from them. No. not in my lifetime, but only because I spent $3800 on the furniture and I am 67 years young, so it should last me until my last dying breath. :-). Thank you Havertys for making it right, although it was a bit of a struggle. Havertys may want to invest in some suppliers who are stauch believers of Quality Control. Their suppliers need to be better versed in this important function of any company.... Good Quality Control individuals should be required at all facilities. Update of Havertys... On Sat Jul 9th, received a telephone call from the salesperson who sold us our unacceptable furniture. SHe advised she did not read or receive the numerous emails I sent to her mailbox.. After going back and forth and yes, me talking loud (she also) and both of us talking over each other, truce. I let her talk. She let me talk and then nothing. SHe did not hang up on me. But she was still listening on the phone. just listening and she let me talk. I said: "II know you are there, I do not get a dialt one on the phone. If you are there, p ls. respnd. I have apologized to you for my loud voice. and you have apologized to me also. I know you are listening to what I am saying. Pls. note I do not want to call up your Manager and advise t hat you hung up on me, because I know you did not. I also may be on speaker phone, I have no issue with that and possibly one of your colleagues is listening in to what I am saying. THat is fine. I have no problem with that, but would appreciate if you would say something because I KNOW you are still oh the phone and listening to me". Well, she did come back on the phone.... This salesperson came back on the phone and advised me Customer service would call me. On Jul 11th Sat, Customer Service did call me at 5:40 pm. and the gentleman was quite cordial. He advised that I would be receiving full replacement of t he unacceptable sofa and loveseas. T He Customer Service individual advised I would receive a telephone call on Tuesday, Jul 12rh to confirm or not date for exchange (they take back the shoddy furniture and I receive better quality furniture). He advised a preliminary date of Friday Jul 15th for exchange of goods. Worst customer service I have ever had. Delivered a power recliner WITHOUT the power source. It's 12/23, 2 days before Xmas, and the store is 30 minutes away without holiday traffic - their answer was they could deliver it 12/28. Seriously? Chair does not function without the power adapter-what idiot sent it out that way? Store manager was unavailable, sales manager was not the slightest bit considerate, and the customer service line was pleasant but not helpful. Asked if they could courier it or put it in an Uber - they told me I could arrange that myself. Uh, I'm not the one who made the error! Refunding the delivery charge doesn't get me a power source. I have a new home needing to be completely furnished. Went to Haverty's in Brandon and was offered by the sales person to have the designer come to our home and get her opinion on the design. She came out and when finished with the meeting she asked if we were getting other designers opinions. Being honest I said yes and that was the wrong thing to say!! She said she would NOT be doing any presentation at all for us if we were getting other opinions. I was totally shocked and most of all it wasted her precious time and mine!! It has not been a problem with any other designer that has come to the house. I don't think many people completely furnish there entire home with furniture from one store. That's why there are stores on every street corner. I called to tell the sales person how dissapointed I was and it was like well that's are policy. Her time and her schedule is so important - doesn't she work for Haverty's and I guess it's her job to help customers?? My time and schdule is just as important as her's. We had already planned on purchasing 2 bedroom suites and a sectional from Haverty's even before she came out - but NOT now!! We bought bedroom furniture a year ago from Haverty's in Brandon. We had several callbacks to customer service for problems with drawers sticking and they were handled promptly. However, a few weeks after one year passed, a 'secret drawer' for jewelry would not open. The repairman came out and said they no longer carried that vendor, and said that we have to find it on the internet. The vendor apparently is in Vietnam, and the phone number listed for them is actually a physic reading number. Haverty's has nice furniture, but their customer service is terrible. We have paid them a lot of money and they have abandoned us. We will not use them again. We have a piece of furniture with a secret drawer that will not open.
