First of all the service was excellent! From the front desk, to each massage therapists. We got there early so we could try to be the first ones to get in for walk in but to our amazement they were already booked. We were scheduled for 11:00 which we didn't mind. Got to walk around the mall and enjoy the window shopping. I like more relaxation massages with a medium pressure. This place doesn't have the amenities of a regular spa, you're all in one big room (unless you book a private room) and you can hear the mall noise from the outside but for the price and fantastic massage, I will be back. Stopped in on a Sunday hoping to get lucky with a walk-in and was glad they could take me right away. I went with the 45-minute full body table massage, and Tony nailed it, great mix of deep tissue and some reflexology, and he checked in a few times to make sure the pressure felt right. The room is dim with relaxing music and a comfortable temp, easy place to just settle in and relax. I walked out feeling a lot better, which is really all you want, and the price felt fair for what you get. Feeling the pressure... That's what it is at Hawaii Massage Company and after a disappointing planning to get a massage elsewhere I gave up hope to find a place as I never really plan and make reservations and usually just walk in hoping to get some much needed relief. My other therapy is shopping and going to get some retail therapy I noticed this shop on the second floor in Windward Mall which I've seen before but never gave it much thought as you an totally see folks getting a massage from the window and being surrounded by some restaurant the noise level is quite off the chart especially they keep the doors open (understandably) where you're trying to destress and get some release. Prices is mall prices which is much higher though the convenience of walking in and free parking are the perks and as my thought are the $30 for 20 minutes my stiffness cried out 60 minutes which is $75 lol! There was a few other folks there as well as I clearly hear screaming kids during it all the shop is nice and clean with lots of massage sets I'll take this over getting one in a chair besides and escalator and yes it was a great massage and walked out feeling better. This was my second time getting a 30 minute massage at this location. Both times were walk ins and they were able to accommodate me immediately. The receptionist asked me what areas were my concerns and my massage therapist Holly was AMAZING. She asked me if the pressure was good and she was able to focus on my problem areas and so much more. We walked into the mall to go shopping, but as soon as we entered, we noticed this place. My husband and I checked just to this place as the prices were reasonable. A friendly massage therapist came to greet us, while she was on a break. We gave this place a try and so glad we did! My husband did a chair massage and loved his massage. My shoulders were so sore after a stressful week, so I just told the receptionist...or was it the manager, that chair massage or lay down is fine. Jeannie came to get me, the same one who was on a break. She asked me where I wanted her to focus and I said my shoulders. She proceeded to work on me. Different ambiance in the mall, lights are off in the room, but the store doors are opened (understandably) but quite noisy with kids screaming, and people talking, but the massage was great so I was able to tune out the distractions. Jeannie asked if the pressure was good and went harder when I asked for harder, and less pressure when I needed less. At first I thought this is so sore, but then it felt so good. I've been going to this wonderful place off and on for the last seven (7) years when I'm on this side of the island working or shopping. They are AWESOME. I've had massages all my life since small kid time as my dad is old school Hana boy and lomi lomi is essential for health. When my regular massage therapist of 18 years is busy, I come here. Since I love a firm hand and I've always requested this, they aimed to please so I never book less than an hour. Price point is still so much cheaper than most places for the quality I got. Ok, it's not the spa so don't expect that but just great massages. They are kind, friendly and accommodating. They even have various times if you just need a quick head and shoulder or foot and reflexology (which is awesome). If you don't have a great massage- let them know and perhaps they can improve otherwise, I can honestly say it's money well spent- better than an medication for my migraine or realigning my hips and back and stretching those "lost" muscles. I got a chair massage here and got my money stolen. I was put on a chair in back. In the middle of the walk way between the employee small room and private room. I put my bag next to my feet on the floor because there was no other place to put it. I was constantly being bumped during my massage because of the location I was in. It was irritating but I was trying to enjoy my massage. At the end of my service I head to the cashier and reached in my wallet to pay cash but realized that my wallet was short money. It is dark inside and thought to myself this couldn't be right and searched other pockets but still none. So I ended up paying with the cash I had. After I left I checked in my wallet again to see if maybe I had overlooked my money. I had gone to the bank machine prior to my massage so I know I had money in my wallet. I was trying to make sense and back track my steps where I put my money in my wallet thinking how could happen. Then I decided to call the massage place abs explain my situation. This review is long over due. I first visited Hawaiian Massage Company in March. I went there because I had these major knots in my shoulder and neck area. I also had tension headaches that were bordering on migraines. I didn't have an appointment and they said they could take me in 15 minutes. I didn't wait long because they contacted me under 10 minutes. I chose the 30 minute "Best One" massage. Holly was my massage therapist and I asked if she could focus on my neck and shoulders. She did that and so much more! She also encouraged me to tell her if she was massaging too hard. I only had to tell her one or two times to go a little softer. I appreciated that, because other places I've visited never gave that option and I didn't feel comfortable saying anything. Anyhow, after that 30 minute massage, I was a little sore but I could feel the difference...positively! In less than 48 hours I was headache free and the knots in my shoulders and neck were gone! My wife and I looked for a massage company, as we planned to have spent the day in Windward Mall (Kaneohe). After looking through Google, we came across The Hawaiian Massage Company; a phone call was placed, and we were scheduled for the Combo massage, the next day. Thirty-Five (35) minutes for a full-body massage, and thirty-five minutes for feet massage. It was an awesome, rejuvenating experience. I didn't realize that I had that much tension built up in my body, until I received my massage, and the masseuse mentioned, "that's a lot of tension built up in you". It was a blessing to have received a great massage, and to have been in good hands with the Aunty who helped me. The seventy (70) minutes of the massage went by quickly, but it was a very smooth session. I felt a lot more "at ease" and relaxed, after the session was finished. The atmosphere, alone, was awesome. Relaxing music, very professional staff, and everything that scented "relax". And, the cup of water provided at the end was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend The Hawaiian Massage Company to anyone looking for a massage. Had to wait for my SUV to be serviced at Windward Dodge, so I had some time to kill. Ate some lunch then went to get a massage. The place was busy, so I signed in and wait time was minimal (less than 5 minutes). I opted for the 45 minute chair massage. All the therapists was looking at me as I signed in and walked in for my massage, I'm guessing they were thinking "Oh, I hope I don't get that guy" as I probably out weigh all of the workers combined. Walked in for a 30min neck/shoulder/back massage yesterday and it was awful. The lady I had did not know what she was doing. I asked for more pressure and she proceeded to climb on my back and stand on me. My clothing was silky so she was slipping and sliding, as there was nothing for her to hold on to. This is an in and out mall massage establishment. The people who reviewed lower due to ambiance or relaxation need to understand this and not expect a 5-star hotel treatment. I didn't expect anything more (and believe me, I could list more); the people were friendly, they were short staffed (2 people) and accommodating. So it's not relaxing per se, but the massage was decent and what I requested. My therapist asked me about the pressure and assured me to not be afraid to ask for more or less. The only thing I will comment on that I noticed more than once are these things: 1. Sometimes I could feel a nail here and there on my feet, usually when it was deeper pressure) but it wasn't bad at all. 2. My therapist must've been grossed out by my feet?
