Recently there was an unexpected incident. I had booked 2 appointments two days in advance on the Massage Envy website. It was the only day I had off that week... and I was really looking forward to a day of relaxation and de-stressing. One was for a 1 hour massage session and one for a 1 hour total body stretch session. I've never tried the total body stretches before and had wanted to try it out to supplement the massage. My main focus that day was the massage. The day before the appointment, ME called and texted me to tell me that the therapist for the total body stretch session had an emergency come up. So the session I booked would need to be rescheduled/ it was canceled. I understand that emergencies happen, so I was chill about it and thanked them for informing me. My massage session was still confirmed, so I was okay. On the day of the massage, I leave the house for my 9am appointment. I'm already en-route when I see a text message from ME at 8:17am. My anxiety skyrocketed. The message notified me that the therapist for the massage had a last-minute medical emergency... I was super disappointed and stressed out, completely the opposite of my plans for that day. I conveyed this through my messages. And discussed what we could do and if there were other massage options. Being on the freeway, it wasn't really viable for me to turn around and go home. I decided to continue until I got to ME to speak with someone in person about what happened. Looking back now, I realize that at the time, I was selfish in worrying only about my own feelings. I hope both therapists are okay. This was the first time I've had my appointments canceled so suddenly in all the years I've been with ME. When I got to the ME around 8:50am, I spoke with Kainoa, the manager. I expressed my frustrations regarding what had happened with the cancellations and felt like I wasted my only day off planning everything. She listened to what I said and was very understanding. Then she offered me solutions. She let me try out complimentary sessions of the Red Light Therapy and Vibroacoustic Massage Treatment. Both of which I've never tried before and were such interesting and positive experiences! The Red Light Therapy uses different wavelengths of red light to go through different layers in the body. It's FDA cleared to temporarily reduce pain in the body and increase blood circulation. Allowing for faster tissue repair, faster recovery, lower blood pressure, and better heart health. It also increases neurotransmitters for a better mood. The machine they have is huge and covers the whole body. There is also a separate panel for the face that can be adjusted. Each side is about 20 minutes, and the machine has a timer that auto turns off when it's time to flip around to the other side. It's like basking in the warm sunshine. Feels like a nice toasty blanket wrapped all around you. I would definitely try this again! The Vibroacoustic Massage Treatment uses low-frequency sound waves around 30 to 120 Hz that are bounced off a chair into the body's cells. Allowing for deeper relaxation of the mind and body. There are headphones that coordinate with the music and sounds. The lights in the room also move and change. And an eye mask that can be put on to massage the temples. This helps with muscle tightness, spasms, fibromyalgia, blood pressure, stress, depression, anxiety, circulation, headaches, migraines, insomnia, asthma, COPD, hypertension, Parkinson's, and it also helps releases pain-relieving endorphins. It's a very relaxing experience, to the point that I almost fell asleep XD Kainoa coordinated to make it possible for me to get the massage I had planned for. I was super duper elated :D Kaui the regional massage therapy trainer did my massage. She is so skilled in massage therapy and the flow of the massage was perfect! She does lomi lomi massage and it was my first time having this type of massage. Very deep tissue. It was the best massage experience I've ever had with ME!!! Normally massages intimidates me but I've been aching and paining. walking in nervous... I was instantly comforted with the warmest greetings. Then it came time to step out of my comfort zone. I am so glad I did. I started at the red light bed thing and I fell asleep lol. But the vibrating bed opened me up and they had to force me out lol. Was quite annoyed since I had to drive from Honolulu which was a 90 min roundtrip experience only for my provider to "forget" she had an appointment that day. They did offer to rebook, which did little good since I had to fly home the next day. Worst part was they had me sit there for 20 minutes past my appointment time only then to realize she was a no-show. UPDATE: The General Manager called me today to apoligize for the experience. As it turns out, the thing I have been missing in life is a hot stone massage from Margarita. Not only was it super relaxing, but it included some light stretching. It happens to be stormy today so the hot stone addition was perfect. You can only choose the hot stone option if you are booking a 90 minute session. If you're a member, the prices are *about* $30 for the hot stone service plus $30 for the extra half hour. It's not something I can afford to do regularly but when the tension is high or there's something really stressful coming up? You bet! I have been a member since they opened in Pearl City and I have been to Kapolei, Aina Haina, and even their Maui location. All of them are amazing. The front desk is super welcoming and does a phenomenal job getting to know me and understanding my needs. I have been to dozens of Massage Envy Hawaii therapists and estheticians over the years and had a wonderful experience with all of them. I love having more than 1 therapist or esthetician to look up my wellness history and customize my treatments to my needs. They are open 7 days a week which helps me get in but I always try to schedule after my last session so I have more options for when I can go and who I can see. My new favorite thing is the red light therapy. After a few sessions, I feel the difference. For me, the biggest benefit to red light therapy is having less overall pain that I had become used to having. We finally found it. As we entered, I was asked a few questions before getting my 50 minute massage. My massage therapist was Raven. She gave me a medium to hard massage. My muscles really needed that. I have a lot of tension in my neck and back. It definitely felt good afterwards. All the pain went away. I came out refreshed and feeling so much better. I love coming to Massage Envy in Kaneohe because it is close to where I live and as soon as you walk in the front desk associates knows who you are and checks you in right away. They are also very friendly always asking if we need any water or if we would like to add any enhancements to our service. Each month I do something different to pamper myself. After a few years of getting a massage, I got my husband to try a massage and then he joined Massage Envy and we do massages together every other month and on the month's that I do a facial he may get a massage or he may just save his hour for the next time that he does a massage. After my massage or facial, I feel so relaxed that I can't wait until the next time that I have my next session. He was very professional and seemed to get what a leisure massage was. He asked was the pressure okay on several occasions. I was actually bummed it was only an hour. At first, I was so shame to check in here, but now that it's over, I want to tell the whole world how great the Healthy Skin Facial is! I saw Massage Envy Spa at the Windward City Shopping Center several times because I shop at Foodland, Ross & Longs. I never checked out the prices or services until I got the valpak coupons in the mail. I thought that $59.99 "Introductory 1-hour" sounded good, so I decided to give it a try. Booking an appointment was easy. The receptionist was friendly and sharp. She got gave me a time that was convenient - and when I met her in person, she was just as bubbly and cheerful as she was on the phone! I got there 15 minutes early to fill out some forms and figure out what kind of facial I needed. The place was calm, clean, spacious and beautiful! I was introduced to my esthetician, Danika, and we started right away. She was very thorough and explained everything. While the mask was drying, she massaged my arms and hands! Bonus! She warned me that the toner would be tingly - and yes - It was invigorating! While she was cleansing my face with warm towels, I woke myself up at least twice - it was so relaxing! Sadly, the one hour came to an end and I had to sit up from the heated bed. (She actually turned the heat off for me because I'm at that age already.) I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven (yes - cliche - I know). I asked if all of this was legal because it felt so good! She and the receptionist laughed! A friend gave me a gift card for massage envy so I booked my appointment. The lobby area is very pleasant and I had Joy as my masseuse. Joy was great and I truly enjoyed the massage. However what I did not like was the HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS that I had to face at checkout. This person was very very persistent in trying to sign me up for the 12 month contract at $65 a month or $730 a year. I did not appreciate having to sit there for 15 minutes fending off this person and even though I repeatedly said NO she kept going on and made a really rude facial expression at me like I was stupid for not signing up when I told her No. Never going back there again! read more

I knew that I was due for one anytime soon. Front desk staff are very friendly, thorough with appointment needs and questions. I received a Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield for free today as a way of saying thank you for being a member and getting a facial done during Summer Glow Event which runs from July 1, 2016 to August 31, 2016. Plus, $10 fee for facial products will be waived for facials done in July and August. I highly recommend booking facial appointments with Cynthia. She is very genuine, detail oriented and will inform the person receiving facial step by step of which products she will use on your face depending on skin type and needs. Cynthia also prepped my skin well before, during and after facial. I experienced a gentle facial process. I remember hearing popping sounds of extractions while she unclogged pores from my forehead. She also took the time to massage my arms, hands, neck, and forehead. She wrote on my chart and gave me my completed Facial Wellness Plan that shows skin care regimen and recommended products. John was very unprofessional, condescending and hostile. It was the most bizarre experience ever. He likes to ask a ton of questions and if you don't answer them clearly, he gets upset. He actually threw a temper tantrum 10 minutes into the session and stormed out. The manager was very apologetic, compassionate and concerned. I get massages regularly and this has never happened before. I felt bad that she has to deal with an employee who clearly has anger management and impulse control issues. My timing may have been bad to get a massage and it certainly wasn't a relaxing process to get the actual massage but Dee is a wonderful massage therapist who made me forget all of that once I left. It was hard to get an appointment during the times I was available as this popular massage chain seemed to be booked at all of their Oahu locations. I had to make a noon slot on a Saturday work. After scavenging for a parking stall and waiting in a crowded, noisy reception area, Dee reviewed my questionnaire with me to ask about trouble areas. She then led me to a room, which also wasn't very inviting to relax in as the music was blaring. Not sure who enjoys getting massaged with the music blasting overhead but I definitely don't. After asking Dee to turn the music down (I guess I'm showing my age), she let me get settled in the room. When she returned, she asked again about my concerns and trouble areas and gave me suggestions on why I might be having trouble in those areas. She went over the different muscle groups that affect those areas and showed me different ways to use my muscles and of course talked about posture. The 90-minute prenatal massage Dee gave me was wonderful and it made me forget about the hectic process it was to actually book the reservation and find parking. Dee was very sweet. She's petite but very strong and used the perfect amount of pressure and made sure to check to see if the pressure was good every now and then. The hours are great, they're open late but I'm not sure if I would consider becoming a member. Massage Envy has become such a popular chain that is busy and it was hard enough to make that one reservation that would fit my schedule. If I do return, it will be thanks to Dee. This is the second incident with this place involved in customer services which have come to my attention that will not be tolerated and acceptable so therefore I will cancel my membership and find other massage services elsewhere!!! kinda feel like a traitor for writing this because my home therapy ME is in Aina Haina, however, upon feeling really bad and sore, I called Aina Haina first and they told me they didn't have any openings with Cyndie, my regular therapist. I then remembered that the memberships are good at any location so I tried Kaneohe, and lol and behold, Kaneohe ME had a opening for the time and date that I needed. So I trek the drive to Kaneohe from town, beautiful, relaxing scenic drive. I arrived early, filled out a few forms and was led into the massage room with Sterling. Sterling is very excellent, knows exactly what muscles needed to be "unkinked" and got me massaged and stretched to the core. Amazing! Sterling is adept, pays attention to where you hurt, tells you what's going on as he massages you. The room where my massage took place has an entirely different energy of it's own! It's special. I feel that I have the best of both worlds in my ME membership in both Cyndie and Sterling! Thanks to both of them, I'm hoping to be facing 2019 kink free and relaxed. I have been coming to massage envy for about a year. It was recommended to my by a friend to join their membership, and I am very happy that I did. I don't always have time to go every month, but the massage hours carry over so I don't lose them! Process: if this is your first time, go in early. You will need to fill out a very detailed questionnaire on a tablet that details all the information that they may need to give you a good massage. Areas to avoid. Areas of pain or stress. Pressure preferences. Health issues, and more. Tips: be open to getting a massage - face, scalp, glutes, feet, they need to be massaged too! I dont get pec massages because my boobs get in the way. otherwise, just be open to it! They are professional. It's really not that big of a deal. cancellations - if you don't cancel prior to 24 hours of the time of your appointment, you will lose your hour OR will be charged for the cost of the massage. This is a reasonable cancellation policy. Be mindful of that, or you'll lose out. Therapists: Neva, Reed, Rachelle are great. I have had each of them multiple times, and I am happy with each one. I saw a post on here about Rachelle being too chatty, and not being knowledgeable about giving a massage. That just hasn't been my experience. Most of my issues are sports injury related, and all the therapists have been very professional and have tailored the massage to the areas that are giving me trouble. Neva gave me stretches and things that I can do daily to try to relieve the stress and pain that I am having, and they have helped me quite a bit. Rachelle also gave me suggestions for working out the knots that I have in my feet. My mood changes, sometimes I just wanna lay there and be quiet and sometimes I feel chatty. The therapists have been accommodating of my preferences. Then again, if I prefer something then I tend to express that instead of just being miserable. I recommend coming here! I had a bad experience last year at the Kaneohe location & the District Manager was very nice and tried to smooth things over by comping a facial, alas the bad incident stuck with me. Well a new year & decade, I decided to try them again. This time a much better experience. Right before New Year's they had a special, buy $100 GC, and get a free $25 credit. The receptionist Pua was very nice and patient and convinced me to buy $200 so I could get a $50 credit. The 1st time you're there , you could do multiple services at the introductory price on the same day, and she tried to help me out to get 2 services. It had been a year and she said it was fine to get the intro price of $65 for a facial and I booked my husband a massage at the same time. When we came in a week later, the staff was nice, offered water. The waiting room and hallways are very zen like, and a very nice clean no gender bathroom. I had Sienna for my facial, she was very good and I added a hand massage scrub for only $10 & my hubby added the foot scrub massage. The rooms are comfortable and clean and she explains everything they put on your face. Very relaxing for both me and my husband, and they nice after and explained the membership, not do aggressive like the last time. I will definitely come back again, maybe even sign up! I recently got a massage here and I truly enjoyed my experience. I had a sore back with tight shoulders which led to me having intense neck and lower back pain. I realhly enjoyed the ambiance of the place which helped start the relaxation portion of the whole experience. Upon entering, I was asked to complete a questionnaire for my problem areas and if there areas I didn't want worked on. Meeting with my therapist he went over the questionnaire and listened to my issues I were having. He was very professional and a very excellent therapist. During massage, there were times where it was a bit painful because of how tight the area was, but as soon as he released the tightness it was an amazing feeling. I really enjoyed getting my massage from him. The reason why I deducted one star was due to how thin the walls were. There was no relaxation music playing in my room, if there were, it was drowned by the other rooms clients. At a few points in my massage as I was really feeling relaxed, I could hear someone burping in the room next to me and loud conversations right outside the door of the room. It disrupted the serenity I was feeling. If I could make a personal recommendation, I would increase the level of music or have each individual room has their own music/stero so the volume can be adjusted to the client's needs. The price point is pretty average for any day spa, $65/hr or for new clients I believe its $55/hr. They also offer a membership of $65/m for massage that can also be a roll over so if you don't use your massage for month 1, you can have two massages in month 2. As apart of my monthly "treat yo' self" I get a 60 minute massage at Massage Envy, Kaneohe. It is literally what I look forward to every month. Every time I visit, the front staff is extremely pleasant. Always warm and welcoming and I just feel a calming sensation overcome me when I walk into the door. They do such a great job trying to provide a calm, tranquil environment. Thank you for that. I have been going to ME for almost a year and have shopped around/ tried out many of the therapists. I prefer deep tissue and 'let me work out this knot' massages. If you are looking for that, try Sterling or Zara. If you want something more relaxing and calming, try Joshua or Alyssa. Alyssa was fabulous! I wish ME had more flexible membership options. My BF really wants to join but cannot afford the monthly membership. I am hoping that some day they may offer shorter term commitment, like ~3 month membership. read more
