Emailed/texted back and forth a few times looking for a good time to have a rep from Hawkeye come out to give us an estimate on a newly purchased property in Bridgewater. Very confusing correspondence that led us to believe they weren't even reading our responses. Told them that the day they gave us to come out wouldn't work out as we would both be at work that day, and they responded saying something along the lines of "Sounds great! See you then!" Weird, but we decided they must be pretty busy and would simply take the time off work to meet them on our property at the allotted time and day they gave us. But they never showed up. Never called. And we work hourly so we both missed a days pay to have this company completely ghost us. They didn't even respond to our follow up asking what happened. After getting an estimate from another local company that was crazy high priced, we went with these guys because they gave a good estimate and were specific about what was going to be done. I was impressed when I saw they were taking extra time to shore up other parts of my fence that weren't part of the estimate. They did a good job for sure. read more

We had this Hawkeye Fence come to our home to give us a quote on replacing the fence. It's not a huge yard (about 0.25 acres) and we were given an estimate. Two months later, we are ready to move forward with replacing the fence (boy these things are expensive!) and they said they had to come out again to give us an updated quote. No problem. A company representative came out and looked at the yard again with my husband and went over type of fencing, gate locations, etc. and said he would email us back in about a week with the updated quote. Well, we heard from him today with a one-line email. "Sorry, but we won't be taking on this project." WHAT?! Stay far, far away from Hawkeye. This is the worst Customer Service I've ever experienced in my life... and we have Comcast! :P read more

Not good. I asked them for an estimate to fix some very specific stuff in my backyard where my fence got knocked down in 2 places from a storm. Took them like a week to write an estimate for the wrong stuff. I went down to the office to ask them to do the estimate over, they advised me the estimate was off because it was a "drive-by" estimate they wrote from the street. How can you write me an estimate if you dont get out of the car? Terrible customer service. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I ended up fixing the fence myself. read more

Just disgusted. After calling a few other fence companies and getting the run around I called them. They were very accommodating in the beginning. Sure we can fit you in.small Job. Replacement gate .that was back in April .someone came out. Took photos of job.that was Patriots day.here we are a month later. Still not done. After many unreturned calls.finally got someone .who said he would email me contract and estimate. Well that never happened. Even after a few voice mail. Called this week to see if we were scheduled. Yes Wednesday. Called Wednesday to get a better idea on time was told they were a little behind we would be the first call today Thursday. Well at noon still no one called and spoke to woman who says how overwhelmed they are. Very apologetic but doesn't change things. Poor communication on their end. But promised it would be done today. 5pm comes get the call.no paperwork in order. No dig safe call.i said bye bye I understand we had a horrific winter and we all probably suffered some damage to our property that may need repairs.all I was looking for was.honest communication from them or even a return phone call after my messages .they most definitely failed. read more

I had a fence put up by Hawkeye Fence. After a few months one side caved in. And the gate they put on kept dragging on the ground. I called them immediately to come and make the repairs. I called so many times and left messages. I even spoke to the owner and workers about the issues. I threatened to report them and still they never came. It's been two years and my gate is still dragging. My son fixed the part that caved. I have cancer and even told them what I was going through and still they never came. I give 2 stars for the following reasons: - 5 stars as I called and left a message with 5 different fence contractors for repair work, and nobody answered or returned my calls, other than Hawkeye Fence, who took my info and scheduled work on the first call. - Minus 3 stars, as I look at the finished work and what I paid for it ($1200 for a fence panel-to-gate conversion, replace 5-6 wooden posts with new ones, and re-position original fence panels that had fallen) I realize I had been ripped off. - left at 2 stars for my feeling of being ripped off and the fact that 2 panels look like they need to be switched. I would call again, though I would shop for price before doing so. read more

Hawkeye just finished installing our fence and it came out great. The work that they completed was not an easy task, the job was turned down by another company because of what it entailed. The fence was tucked away in our wooded backyard. It's not a flat wooded area either, Hawkeye had to install the fence all along the backyard which includes a large steep hill. Hawkeye met our demands and did charge an astronomical amount. The guys did not cut corners and footed the fence properly, carrying cement in buckets up the hill since bringing a wheel barrow up was not possible. They also didn't try to mix the dry cement in the hole like some other hacks may have done. I recommend this company, they were super courteous when I called and very responsive to any changes that needed to be made. read more

I was in need for a fence, got a few quotes from big box stores and local companies, Hawkeyes was the best price and explained everything to me The one I went with turned out perfect square post capped and railed pickets. I love it wish I did this a few years ago. Now when I come and go privacy and it looks great. The workers all were friendly and professional finished and clean up was great. I was not satisfied with their customer service at all... I had a fence installed last month... The fence itself is very nice, installed well, looks great... But their service is horrible... After I made a deposit they told me they expected to do it around a certain week a few weeks away and someone would be in touch ... No one did and they just showed up one day and did the work... The work was good .. I was left no invoice or any paperwork until my remaining balance was mailed to me 2 weeks later, then the next say this company had a nerve to call me and ask why I hadn't paid yet!! I told them I received the invoice the previous day and I would send it when I did my bills over the weekend... Then he asked me what specific day it would be in the mail!!! I was so offended I wrote a letter to the owner who did call and apologize. Based on their lack of service I would not recommend this company to anyone read more

We needed a good value fence at an affordable price and after looking around at the usual suspects, like Home Depot, were referred to Hawkeye Fence by my brother-in-law. We needed the fence in a very short period of time and did not have the means to pick it up ourselves. I spoke to Jim on the phone about our time dilemna and he went way above and beyond to ensure that we got the fence we wanted at the time we needed it. In April 2017 Hawkeye installed an 8' high vinyl privacy fence in our back yard in two 40 foot lengths divided by a corner post. So far so good. In December 2017 a portion of one section of the fence blew down. Hawkeye agreed to repair the damaged portion of the fence which included a cracked fence post but at our expense since the damage was due to an "act of God" as stated in their initial proposal. Okay. However, their repair consisted of propping up the fence without replacing the cracked post. In April of this year the other 40 foot of fence blew flat to the ground including all of the posts. What we have now learned, having received proposals from other installers, is that the vinyl Hawkeye used was extremely thin (weak) especially for an 8' fence and that the posts should have been reinforced with wood or metal inserts to better withstand high wind. Hawkeye materials and installation may be okay for vinyl fences 6' or smaller but definitely not for vinyl fences taller than 6'. read more

i would give this company zero stars if the yelp website would allow me. I purchased a fence June 2, 2012. I paid half of what the job was quoted for. I was told that the fence would be installed within 3 weeks. After several calls placed on my behalf, the fence was installed July 26, 2012. The crew that installed the fence stated to me that the gates would be installed the following day. After a call the following monday, July 30, The owner stated to me that they were waiting to install the gates to ensure that the concrete settled from the fence posts installed on July 26. It appears based on the statements of the crew members, that the owner of the company was lying to me because he could not get a crew to my house until the following thursday August 2, 2012. Finally the crew showed up and finished the fence. I then received a bill in the mail for the second half of the balance owed. I sent a check for the balance remaining, but accidentally sent a check for 100 dollars more than what was owed. Instead of Hawkeye sending me a 100 dollar check for the extra money I paid, they sent me a bill for 100 dollars I owed them. I spoke with the owner over the phone stating that there must be a mistake that I overpaid accidentally and that they owed me 100 dollars. The owner then stated to me that I asked for some extra panels and that was why I was charged the extra money. I explained that the bill that was sent to me after the fence was finished was for the accurate amount owed, then all of a sudden I get a bill that is 200 more than what the completion bill was. I have all receipts and all transactions are documented. I awant to stress to anyone who reads this and is considering this company, that they have been completely deceitful towards me and extremely unprofessional. They attempted to charge me more than what the job was called for when I never asked for or spoke with anyone about additional services. Please DO NOT use this company. Save yourself the headache and go with a company other than Hawkeye fence company. The owner is completely unprofessional and if I could choose a company again, I would have chosen bump fence who gave me a quote almost 400 dollars more than what Hawkeye gave me. Finally today September 13, 2012 I received the 100 dollars owed to me after a week of my discussion about the extra money they charged me.
