You could tell she cared, not just about the injury, but about him as a person going through it. Same goes for her medical assistant. Super kind, attentive, and just easy to talk to. It didn't feel cold or clinical the way some places do. It felt like they actually wanted to make sure we understood everything and felt supported. I needed some female surgery done - which I have now accomplished, and I am trying to figure out what to do about my dizzy-ness, my sinus (one of which was rebuilt in Kenya by a brilliant reconstructive surgeon after an accident) and the ONLY thing the receptionist would say is, "You have to have a referral. Dr. Hammill is a specialist too, I see in your MyChart you have other referrals, so you have to have a referral!" No one can "self-refer" anymore. Argh. Dr. Hamill might be brilliant, but I won't know.
