Anyway, being a kebab shop, you can pretty much guess that you can get HSPs here as well, which is basically what I ended up grabbing. Yeah, I have to admit that it certainly wasn't all that bad, and the service was okay. It was rather inexpensive, but as I suggested, it wasn't really the best.

I had tried three times since then to buy from Kebab/i, but they were closed on all three occasions. And PitaPit is meagre consolation. Then finally... success! I bought a lamb kebab - with chips and a drink to boot! My curiosity was first piqued when I noticed that the white rectangular bag enveloping my meal read "SOUVLAKI" in blocked blue letters. Upon plucking the paper-wrapped package from its souvlaki sheath, I noticed that there was no foil wrapper to keep the meaty delight warm and prevent its characteristic kebab juices from percolating through the paper. No matter - it wasn't the first time that I had to keep a cascade of drips from splattering on my jeans. BUT unravelling the moist paper package revealed a most shocking secret! Flatbread had been used in the place of the familiar Turkish standard! Oh, the disappointment! It was not a true kebab, but a souvlaki hiding in plain sight! Despite being as tasty and filling as its more faithful counterparts, I do not believe that they should call the menu item that I purchased a "kebab". It's more of a kebab-souvlaki affair. Is suppose the apt portmanteau would be... Kebab/i

Checked up the location and it was only 5 blocks away from where i was staying in Melbourne so it was a definite sign that i needed to go here :D!! Found out it's Shane Delia's invention, he's a perfectionist when it comes to food, have heard plenty great things about his Restaurant Maha & have some friends who have gotten a call from him asking how the service and food was :D. Went there on a friday night, was pleasant busy but that's Melbourne for you, never really crazy busy like Sydney which you get bored off now and then :D!! My cousin ordered the Juicy which was Beef kebab & a Brooklyn lager :),  i went for the Dirty South which was fried Chicken kebab & got the Brooklyn shake :D.. bourbon, cherry, white chocolate!! Both Kebabs had the perfect insides with the meat check out the menu for details & they were wrapped in fluffy pita bread it was LOVE at first bite and then heart break at last bite but my hunger was satisfied :D!! Brooklyn lager was definitely a different tasting beer and as for the Brooklyn shake i ordered another one ;D!! I could sit down for hours, eating & drinking :)... just being mellow with the Biggie vibes :D!! Can't wait to come back.. cousin stayed in Melbourne, so got to listen to him each week about what I'm missing out on lol!!

Melbourne kebab station was recommended by a friend of mine for their tasty meat cooked on a gyros but most importantly they were recommended for being the home of one of the best halal snack packs. As this was my first, I'm no expert on the topic but I can say it was delicious! Crispy chips covered in cheese topped with your choice of lamb, chicken or both, smothered with garlic, chilli and bbq sauces. A bit heavy on the bbq sauce but it can always be tweaked to your liking. We even saw some customers ask to have hummus added on top, so there are a number of extras you can play with to customise the meal the way you want it. Can't wait to go back to try some of the other items on their menu

So it's my second time having a Halal Snack Pack and Melbourne Kebab Station is doing things right…read more Melbourne Kebab Station is only a tiny place. You can tell that you're close because of the people standing outside. Inside it's standing room only, with two tables that sit four people each. Heading outside, to the left, there is more enclosed seating, but I only realized this after leaving the place. Oh well. With the latest food fad sweeping, recently added to their menu is the H.S.P. A small is $10, a large is $15. I tried a mixed chicken and lamb snack pack with garlic sauce and chili sauce. Both complimented each other well, nothing was overpowering, it all just went went well together. Compared to another kebab shop, the meat was more juicy, and the sauce had a better consistency for what you were eating. It wasn't too thick, and it wasn't runny or lacking taste. Pro tip: It's a cash-only venue.
