1628 B St Hayward, CA 94541 I came to visit a friend here. I was impressed by the level of care and the facility is well staffed. They acknowledge you as soon as you walk in. The front desk was staffed by 3 people. Covid-19 screening was in effect, and masks were required. Lots of cleaning was going on. My friend said he was being treated well, but didn't like the food. I was told he was on a strict diet, and I shouldn't bring in outside foods. Oh well, no burgers and fries. The facility was a bit noisy with all the activity in the hallway. The parking lot was almost full. This place isn't visible from the street, you have to go down a long driveway.

Myself with my mom when she was first admitted at Hayward Gardens.

The food was decent the first few weeks, even showing some creativity. Over the last four weeks it has rapidly declined, in pallatability, quantity and nutritional content. The meals are lacking in protein and fresh fruit and vegetables. The meals depend on a lot of frozen prepared items, like frozen breaded fish, and primarily canned vegetables and fruits. Sandwiches made with packaged lunch meats and salty cheeses are substituted if you decline a meal. You're absolutely required to take vitamin supplements. Meals are high in sugar, salt, carbohydrates with little regard for personal needs or preferences. They promote themselves as giving excellent wound care, but are reluctant to purchase wound care items that might seem too pricey. I've been trying for two weeks to get a medicated numbing spray to ease in the painful procedure I'm put through daily. The facility had a recent change in Administrators, and while the previous administrator was largely ineffective in making a lot of changes, under the current administrator of about a month, there seem to be fewer CNAs on duty, more CNAs and nurses working double shifts and not up to their usual efficiency, and poorer quality meals. The current administrator hasn't even made the time to introduce himself to the residents leaving one to wonder if he's leveraging patient care against budget constraints. Or maybe he's just not interested. Don't leave your loved one here unless you're prepared to advocate and participate in their care.

The best part of this facility is the people working here! Everyone is truly caring from nurses, social workers, pharmacists, admission, doctors and more. This was my first experience with a skilled nursing facility, I was impressed with how much they do for the patients to keep them taken care of, fed well, entertained and on the way to fast recovery. My dad himself has expressed his gratitude multiple times towards all the care takers that assisted him, he felt especially at home when some of the nurses spoke to him in his native tongue. He recovered in just a week. Admission was fast and accomadating. They took care of connecting with Insurance company and helped my dad to move in first before I had a chance to go the next day to fill in paper works. I met the entire care team and was really impressed with their patience and attention to detail. I had left a note for them on a few things about my dad's condition and they promptly scheduled a meeting with me to go over them line by line. If anything, my whole family felt heard and taken care of. Definitely recommend the place!

She had physical therapy, played bingo 3 times a week and worked at least 2 crossword puzzles each day. While everyone was caring, a special shoutout goes to JoAnn and Evar! The director of activities was especially nice as well. While no one wants to see their loved one go into a facility, sometimes there is no other alternative. If the need arises, I highly recommend Valley Pointe SNF. My mom, Ms Bennie, transitioned at Eden Hospital, on October 15, 2025. I liked Baywood Court the best because there is no expensive buy-in and the monthly rent is reasonable. From number 16 on the waiting list I was able to move in at mid-February. I have a one-bedroom apartment of 600 square feet facing the pool. It's between two exits so it's very convenient for my dog to go out for his business. Plus there is a half-mile trail inside the facility for his daily walk. I enjoy going through the Rose Garden and the Gazebo along many beautiful flowers and plants. Living at Baywood is like living in a hotel or a cruise ship. There is 24/7 lighting and air conditioning/heat throughout the building. I get weekly house-cleaning, change of bed linens and towels. I just leave my garbage at the door and all the packages I ordered are delivered to me . The two meals a day can be stretched to three because of the many options I can choose. In the one year I have been here, I have not cooked one meal for myself. No more driving to the gym. I just walk down the hall to my Tai Chi, Chair Yoga, and Zumba classes. We also have lots of performance by outside artists and regular health and informational meetings. Just this week we had Martini Monday, Coffee Social, and Tequila Thursday. You can play pool, jigsaw puzzles, Mahjong and many table games at the Game Room. There are also daily drive to shopping and regular visit to museums and scenic areas. Baywwod also has many group activities such as Sunday mass, Thursday Bible study, grief sharing, Spanish class, arts and crafts, movie and sports night, etc. I joined the Knit Wits to make projects for charity. I am the inventory manager and also volunteer as a cashier for our general store called The Cubby. The staff at every Department here are friendly and efficient. I love the community of other residents. The management does such a good job that I was pleasantly surprised when our rent did not go up for this year. I am so glad God provided me Baywood Court where I can live out the rest of my years feeling safe and secure.

See her below enjoying her crossword puzzle (but, don't worry, she had the opportunity for physical therapy before she got far into the puzzle!) The PT workers, notably Sanjeeta and notably Reggie (Reginald), have strong talents (and leadership skills) to help your loved one spend no more time in bed than is helpful for your loved one. There is a cheat sheet of exercises for your legs, hips, and arms which will get you strong. There is a gym, with the key equipment which can also help. If you do visit the facility, please take care not to get in the way of the hardworking yet cheerful staff as they do their important work. An appointment is not necessary. A greeter checked that I am fully vaccinated (I am actually double boosted.) and confirmed that I didn't have a fever. I saw two guys doing us all the favor that they took their iHealth test while they waited to go in to meet their grandmother. On May 13, I saw a staff member, probably a little over 30 in age, who was bringing the lunch out into mixed sun and shade for a guy who hasn't seen enough sun in the past two months. The guy has a Slavic accent (I think) of some sort, and both of them agreed the guy is overdue for a haircut. The staff member was so very, very helpful! And during what seemed to be the break time for the staff member who was making phone calls, he stayed with our likely Slavic friend. It was a "five-star" recommendation for Windsor Gardens. I am sad that I didn't feel eligible to ask the staff member his name. There isn't always enough parking in the lot under the redwoods; so the most recommended parking is on B Street or along side streets. Actually, if you are health conscious, a good way to reach this facility would be to walk a little less than one mile from Hayward BART; or you could look up a connection via #95 AC Transit to 6th and D St. (actransit.org) which would get you even closer to their doors. The #28 bus also stops right close on B St. as it travels between Hayward BART and Castro Valley, Bay Fair, and San Leandro BART.
