It was Spring and naturally the wait was 4 weeks to have the boat looked at, but I called after 4 weeks and they were working on it. We didn't have a relationship with the marina yet so I figured we would get bumped. Nope, they were on it. I felt like I was working with a caring doctor when talking to Jeff about the boat. I felt like he really cared for the boat and wanted us to enjoy it for many years. It's often hard to find good service where we store and use the boat - I felt really confident that when we put it in the lake, it would work and I wouldn't have to make another phone call to have someone come out and look at it or pull it out of the lake again. I would have given 5 stars, but I left several vmails that were never returned - I guess I'm getting used to that and just called back later. read more

my pontoon needed an emergency repair right before three of my grandsons were coming for a week. Jeff went out of his way to get the boat in and then repaired. Then to top it off he delivered the boat at 7:30 pm and saved the day for me and my grandsons. Great service !! The world's worst service took boat in because they said could get in in a week. Now I know why they were not busy. Mr I have been in the boat business for 30 years said reason would not start was in gear box. Quoted 500 to get new one and fix. When they replaced it still not starting no phone call to tell me they just replace starter and charge me 800. I replaced the starter two years ago myself cost me 95 dollars for starter at west marine and took half hour 4 bolts and connect 3 wires. Not 225 for starter and another hours labor. You want to get ripped off take your boat here. read more

Jeff met me to take my boat out of LCO, and went out of his way to help this newbie with all of the details of winterizing my boat. Let me start by saying I've owned, serviced and operated boats for over 40 years and I've never had a worse experience than taking my boats to Hayward Marine this past year. Jeff, the owner, was an absolute nightmare to deal with. Not only did he lie to me in person, and over the phone on several occasions, but also charged for services they did not provide. He also lied about test driving the boat to ensure the issues were fixed, putting in the plug, and I've never ever had a boat delivered in dirtier condition that we paid to have cleaned. I feel extremely sorry for this sad character that has to scam his customers, use profanity in front of women, and clearly is operating a sketchy, at best, operation. If you don't believe me, head into their show room and ask to speak to Jeff. I guarantee that after 2 mins you will be out the door and off to any other Marina in the area as he is insanely offensive and vulgar. If the only options were between owning a boat and having it serviced by Jeff or owning no boat, it would be no boat all day. Save your money, save your time, and save your emotional energy and avoid Hayward Marine at all costs. read more

Hayward Marine is an organization of high integrity and backs their work. Last October I took my 19' foot Crownline runabout in to Hayward Marine for winterization. This past Memorial Day weekend, excited for the season, i launch the boat, fired up the V-8 at the launch. By the time I reached the cabin dock the engine was billowing smoke. I discovered a crack manifold due to water freeze up. I contacted Hayward Marine and Jeff the owner said bring it in. He took one look and said they would repair it. Through the repair they discovered the block was cracked. Not only had Jeff said they would repair the cracked manifold, but he had anticipated the block might be cracked so he had a engine block ordered just in case. In the end, Hayward replace the entire engine, made sure it ran as smooth as the old engine. They never questioned my integrity about the freeze up. Jeff apologized for the error. At every step Hayward Marine displayed class. The motor runs as well as the day I bought it. read more
