All of our kids were born prematurely. When we had a bad experience with a referral for in home Jaundice care. I simply just mentioned it to Dr. Klemm atca follow up appointment and he quickly resolved it. I was exhausted and overwhelmed with being a 1st time Mom of a premature baby to care for and was so grateful for his intervention without even having to ask! Over the years the care our boys have received by Dr. Klemm, the nursing staff and the front office has been are unmatched. When we moved almost an hour away 11 years ago, I still made the trek to their new office, even further away because there is no-one else I trusted to treat our boys. Side not one insurance issues: BCBS of AL loves to blame the Physician/Provider for insurance issues when in reality the quality of the insurance provided by BCBS of AL is terrible. We've had BCBSAL for 20 plus years. Each year we pay more and get less coverage. I imagine all doctors and front offices are overwhelmed with the ever changing coverage. I find it unfair to blame HPA when the ones raking in billions of dollars are the company execs at BCBS while we get LESS coverage and PAY MORE. Somr Physicians are leaving their fields because of all the loopholes they go through just to be able to treat patients and make a decent living. Policy change is necessary for better healthcare so Physicians can focus on treating patients not paperwork.

I called the next day, no one answered so I left a detailed message asking someone to please call me back. It's been weeks and I've never heard from Dr Booker or anyone at her office. I was told we would go over the lab work, and I never heard about that either. Other than the terrible experience, the office is in severe need of cleaning. There is stuff literally everywhere. On every surface. Papers, instruments, computers, just piles and piles and piles of stuff. I've never been to an office that was so messy. There also appears to be no staff? Dr Booker herself came and retrieved me from my car, then she weighed me, took my height and vitals and preformed the checkup all herself. I will say she was very thorough with the checkup and any concerns I had but otherwise it was horrible!

The location is very convenient near Sparkman High and the Publix Shopping Center on HWY 53. Appointments are recommended but some same day appointments are available. And, I've found it quite difficult to find the right fit, to be honest. So, early on, I really struggled to find the right physician and group for my kids. And, the fact is, when you choose your child's doctor, you aren't just making that choice - you are choosing the office staff, the physical office space and location, the hours, the other group physicians, etc. We lived in Franklin years ago, when my kids were little. I have plenty of "horror" stories of the various physicians and groups we tried out then. From 2004-2008 we were in Florida, and it was even more difficult there - I never found a physician I was confident in! When moving back to Tennessee, a lot of prayer (yes! prayer) went into my search for a new pediatrician. Dr. Pinkley was the first we saw, and we've never regretted that decision. Fantastic facility (and I've been in some nasty offices!), pleasant and helpful staff, generous office hours, great nurses, and we've had good experiences with the other doctors, the few times we were unable to see Dr. Pinkley. Dr. Lohse is so personable, so caring and clearly explains things - usually using visual examples. My son has had tummy issues, and they were so sympathetic, kind and knowledgeable. I could go on and on. I highly, highly recommend. The practice also has an on-call nurse available, so you can call in during business hours with any questions - fabulous for a new mama. They follow up after appointments to check on us, and make sure we're doing all right. They've given us samples of formulas, probiotics, etc...above and beyond. They also have an awesome website with a ton of FAQ's and such.
