This was unfortunately a low point on our trip and a reminder to me to stop picking places based on the name (which I'm probably going to keep doing, if we're being honest). My cousin chums and I kicked off our mini winery tour here this past Labor Day around midday/early afternoon-ish. There was a small batch of wineries in the Naples area that were conveniently located within a short drive of our Airbnb, and this one logically made the most sense to kick off the adventures. The first issue is the location/atmosphere. The best wineries for me are comfortable and have a nice, pleasant view to look at while you sip your wine. This just doesn't have that all - the winery is located directly behind what looks to be an old factory building, so your view is of that building or at best, the picnic tables to the side of the winery which are sort of in an enclosed outside area that also doesn't offer any real views. The other problem with this situation is that it's a bit DIY - when we ordered our wine flights, we were instructed to bring them outside to wherever we wanted to sit. That's fine, but to even get to the aforementioned picnic tables, we needed to navigate down one or two flights of stairs and another seating area - you're just begging for an accident to happen here. We probably would have opted for the picnic tables if it were an easier trek to get to them. Instead we went with a narrow high-top situation in the area right outside the building on an enclosed porch which did not have a lot of room for our three wine flights. The fire pit/Adirondack chair situation closest to the door of the wine/gift shop is probably your best bet at least in terms of comfort, but again, it's just a view of the back of a factory building. We each got a $10 wine flight. It was a little annoying to get the little booklet/menu of options indicating we could choose any six, only to be informed verbally and in writing within the actual shop that it was now four. That kind of discrepancy shouldn't be reflected in your paperwork that you're handing out to customers - it looks unprofessional and feels like a holiday cash grab. And a very easy fix; that's a quick trip/order to your local printer at some point, assuming that's a permanent change and not a temporary one to take advantage of Labor Day Weekend visitors. Given that you're drinking booze by definition, what the winery offers for snacks/food is one of its more important qualities. And again, they fell short. At least they DID provide free popcorn, but it was stale and almost inedible. It also wasn't entirely clear what the water situation was; one of my cousins came out with a bottle of it but wasn't sure if it was being offered gratis or not; it didn't end up being an issue, but it was noticeably not good either, which is an odd thing to say about water. But the container it was in had a noticeable smell of dirty dishwater so it didn't seem like they were cleaning their cups/bottles well. Not great. The big problem overall? The wine isn't good, and you kind of know it going in when they're literally selling the wine by the pouch in addition to bottles. It's difficult to take a winery seriously when they're packaging their product in a container that's understandably associated with cheap, mediocre (if that) wine. I ordered the 2023 Gewurz, a Bubbly Reisling, the Schooner White and the Red Cat, which was arguably promoted more heavily than any of the other wines (not surprisingly given the name). The Red Cat probably IS the best of the wines I sampled but like a lot of the varieties, was super sweet and didn't have a lot to offer, palate-wise. I actually tend to like the semi sweet more than the drier wines because for me it's typically a smoother drink and easier to distinguish the notes, but there just really isn't anything here - I hate to say it, but it tasted like fruit juice, which I can just grab from the supermarket if so inclined. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because the young women inside were very nice. I don't think any of the issues we encountered were because of them; they warmly greeted us as soon as we came in, and were helpful in directing us to the tasting area. They didn't have a lot to work with, and did what they could - that's a tribute to the winery's hiring practices at least. Avoid this one. If you need to drink wine out of a pouch, your local liquor store has them in the clearance section. read more

This winery never seems to be in downtime; the joint was jumping and everyone was having a great time. Bought the Canandaigua Wine Tours Passport, and Hazlitt was my favorite spot. I have to say, I love sweet wines, and Hazlitt had the best selection of sweet wines for me. My favorite was the Peach Wine. They also had several nice areas to sit outside to enjoy the wine flights. We had a great time and will be back next summer. read more

First stop on our self-guided winery tour! We loved it here! The service and owner were wonderful. Once they found out we were from out of town, they gave us great recommendations and other places for us to check out. I really enjoyed the wines that I tasted. They even had wine slushees that my friend enjoyed. Also loved the complimentary popcorn! We sat inside but it seemed like they had a nice outdoor area to sit in. This 5 star rating is for my wonderful experience at this winery - not so much the red cat wine itself! Though, any mention of red cat does bring me right back to early college days, drinking too much red cat wine and feeling incredibly sick after. Times and my palette have both changed, but Hazlitt is truly a must visit if you are in the Naples area. Tastings, wine slush, swag, bottles, and much more will round out your experience. Staff is young but chatty and kind, and all were fully compliant in mask wearing. The wine slush is the star of the show here and if you're looking for a bit of a buzz, this is the way to do it. While out on a Saturday drive we decided to stop here and sample some wine, we were meat a friendly hello. We decided to try a flight of 5 different wines off a list that we were given, and it was also explained to us, and we was also given some free delicious popcorn to enjoy. The flight was $10 for 5 large samples. I sampled my traditional dry red wines but this time I ventured into one white. Loved the 2019 Unoaked Chardonnay. Then I had the 2018 Cabernet Franc, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2019 Merlot. Had to take home some Cabernet Sauvignon. Coming back with some friends and this will be a stop for sure. read more

Delicious frosés, but this place is not wheelchair friendly. My daughter waited in the car and I ran upstairs and ultimately took our drinks to go. They advertise an accessible tasting room that is street level but they suggested we instead go to the pub across the street. The pub was really loud, while the tasting room was not loud. We were in the mood for chillin' at a tasting room. Kind of a bummer. read more

Beth and Taylor greeted us as we walked in, explained how the tasting choices worked and even offered grape juice and popcorn to our 6 and 8 yr old that were with us. Went to visit this winery about 2 weekends past. The ladies who were present were very nice and accommodating. I enjoyed the Bramble berry the best both in wine and in slushy sample form. My friend and I are from very far away and were supposed to go to another winery so we didn't have time for a full slushy but I really regret it. I purchased the bottle and slushy mix, I can't wait to enjoy it with my husband. Next time we will allot or more time here. We also enjoyed the complimentary popcorn! Was here yesterday for Naples Fest. I walk by it every year so this time I got in line and got me a wine slushy. They have bands playing, tables and chairs for people who wants to hang out. They also have a porter potty behind the tent. A cup of slushy wine is $10, I think that's a little stiff. But the straws they use is great! It's reusable and has their logo on it too! I'd love to come here and tour the winery sometime. read more

Overall great place! Wine was delicious. The ambiance is pretty nice on the outside with the little fire pit! Inside if you're wine tasting they'll give you popcorn which is a nice touch. We just got a wine slushee and it was great! They have two different options, brambleberry and a house blend. We got a combination of both. With your wine slushee you also get a custom cup and metal straw. I appreciate the reusable touch! On the outside they're building a brewery! I will definitely be back to check it out! read more

Two words!! Wine slushy! I absolutely love their Bramble Berry wine slushy here. It will set you back $9 for one, but it's a must try and good! It's sweet, but not too sweet, it's the best in my opinion. They have only 2 to choose from and I've tried both but this is the one to try. We also did tastings, the $5 for 6 which is fairly reasonable. My 2 favorites are their White Cat Sangria and Red Cat Fizz. Of course I bought a bottle of each and also at a fair price. The location is great as well, driving through the small town of Naples and Bristol area makes it worth the drive for me. I've been here just a few times and it's never too busy and the ladies here are so welcoming and sweet. You can also purchase a bottle and sit outside and enjoy the view from their patio. We also played a few games of Cornhole while drinking our wine and it was fun and relaxing. Cheers folks. read more

Hazlitt's was stop #2 of our wine tour with Crush this past weekend. It was a pretty cute winery with flowers and cool plants everywhere. It was pretty packed when we got there so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes. While we waited, we decided to give the wine slushies a try. We got both flavors: Cabin Fever and Bramble Berry. They were both tasty, but I think the Bramble Berry was a little better. They were also realllllllly sweet, definitely couldn't finish an entire slushee on my own. You get popcorn with your drinks, though, so its a nice way to even out the flavors. When it was time for us to taste, it was nice because you can choose if you want to taste wines that were more dry or wines that were more sweet. I went for the wines that were more dry. The guy who was pouring the wine tastings for us was really friendly and animated. He explained everything really well and was pretty entertaining. He was also really quick when going from tasting to tasting and didn't rush anyone to finish if they were taking a little longer. All of the wines were pretty good, but I think Hazlitt's is definitely the place to go if you're looking for sweeter options. read more

We visited Hazlitt's on a Saturday during this fall! Be prepared to wait awhile to get your tastings or simply a glass of wine. We waited an hour to get our wine tastings because they were running low on wine glasses. I would recommend Hazlitt switches over to plastic cups for their tasting pours to move customers through faster. The staff were even asking tables mid-tasting if they were finished with any of their glasses because they were so low. The wines are average and to me was not worth the hour long wait. read more

Out of the 20 or so wineries we visited at the Fingerlakes Red Cat Cellars was one of our favorites. They have a fairly large tasting room inside to accommodate large groups and have some lounge chairs outside (and a doggie water bowl) for those who want to sit on the porch. Inside they have a very nice variety of wines as well as cider. Both Red Cat and White Cat wines were solid and smooth and would highly recommend sampling both of them. They also had an amazing fall spiced cider to sample but unfortunately they ran out of bottles to purchase. We ended up stopping by here multiple times to sample and purchase wines. Some of the wines come in a 3L bag which is convenient if you're looking for something a little larger to take with you. I also liked that they had a discount for buying 4 bottles of sweet wine. Although limited to sweet wine, the deal was much more gentle on the wallet than buying 6 or 12 elsewhere for the same type of discount! Overall Hazlitt's had some of the better wines we tasted that week. Their prices are very reasonable and the venue has a nice laid back atmosphere. Definitely not a yuppity atmosphere if that is what you are into. Make sure to stop by here if you're in the area to sample wine! read more

Visited for the first time and had a wonderful experience. Each wine we tasted was delicious and the staff was incredible, especially considering how busy it was. No popcorn offered to me as I stood there with my daughter? I have been drinking Hazlitt for many years, but this experience leaves a real sour flavor behind! Don't appreciate to be treated like this! Hazlitt should scan their employees more for attitude towards customers. Just came back from a trip through the finger lakes, and one 2 weeks ago. We visited here on a tour of several wineries and this was by far the best one out of all of them. Definitely add this to your winery tour! The employees take such pride in all of the wines and other things they produce there and it makes all the difference in the world. The tasting room experience is the best in the region! They are so fun loving and generous and it is obvious that they care about the happiness of their guests. We snacked on popcorn between wines and even picked up some house made cider and recipes to recreate the amazing frosé they had. If you are lucky enough to make it here, definitely have the frosé! This location was confusing at first but was fine since we were open minded and having fun. We got in and the woman we worked with heard we didn't have a reservation and suddenly we absolutely ruined her day even though we were the only ones there with another group. Her name was Taylor. This was a very enjoyable experience. The service was persoable and the best of all the wineries we visited this week. We had our 2 dogs with us and they were quite welcome to go inside and sit at our feet as we enjoyed their wine. They were even given dog treats. I do not have the knowledge of wines but found these to be very good, enough to purchase many of the wines we tasted. I really enjoyed my visit here when my boyfriend and I were on vacation in the Finger Lakes. The tastings were affordable and the bartender was polite and knowledgeable. I liked every single one of the wines I tried and thankfully they were having a great sale on their sangrias (my favorite). I also found my new favorite wine while I was there: Brambleberry! Visits the winery in early may and can't tell you how impressive the service was!!! Laura took care of our tasting and made the visit super special for Mother's Day. Wines are wonderful! Finger lakes is known for whites and they exceed the bar, however the schooner red was also fantastic.
