He wanted to know some history about what I had been experiencing with my '08' Harley Davidson Road king CVO and took about 20 minutes talking with me and asking questions... It was a long story. I've been having trouble for quite a long time (2+ years) and needed help locating a tuning issue. It turned out to be a leaking Intake Manifold gasket as well as an intake air sensor glitch. I could have searched this issue for a long long time but Ed and his crew found and fixed it as well as replaced my front tire and did a tune on my Thundermax ECM in just three days. After I got quoted, I brought in a larger tire than OEM (HD fxdr) and have them installed. Staff wanted to make sure that wasn't a mistake to which I confirmed it will fit. Ed introduced himself while I was waiting, which was nice of him. I liked the whole experience that they tested the bike to make sure it was safe with larger tire, top up fluids and even dusted off the bike. I wanted to put some locking metal ammo cans on my motorcycle to carry stuff inside instead of wearing a backpack. So I called around to a few places and HB Hot Rods and Hogs said they could do it. I dropped off my motorcycle and the ammo cans, and a couple weeks later I got it back. They were powder coated black to match the motorcycle, with a nice paracord handle replacement to prevent any rattling noise that would be caused by the original metal handle. The quality of the work is professional and impressive, and they gave me a fair price for it. I will be coming back here for future additions on my motorcycle. read more

I have known Ed for about 10 years now and he takes care of all of my cars including my all original 1962 Vette that I won't let anyone near. Last night I picked up my sons 2005 Scion TC that had a leaky water pump. The price was less than I expected because he said that my serpentine belt was still in great shape and didn't need to be replaced!! Any other shop or the dealer would have stuck it to me and told me it had to be replaced just so they would make a few more bucks off me. These guys are honest, care about their customers and if there is an issue they always make it right. What more can you ask from your mechanic??? Brought my 1967 mustang here back in July for a diagnostic and they put the wrong fuel injectors on the car. In turn the wrong injectors caused all the tune up parts they replaced to go bad as well. Paid $1400 for them to do a poor job. When I called back to tell them they put the wrong injectors, they wanted to charge me another $1400 to replace all the injectors with the correct ones. A job that takes about an hour or two at most to complete. I don't mind paying a lot for a professional job, but it's outrageous when they mark up all the parts they sold me over 100% of their original cost. It makes it worse that they were the wrong parts. Rather than returning my money for the wrong injectors, they wanted to charge me double to do it again. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

It has this random stutter/choking/loss of power deal. We've taken it to several elite shops and to Harley. No one has been able to find the problem. Thrown over $1500 at it. Ed and Brian took a look and were baffled. Thought they had it fixed, but it came back. Why we love them: They took it personally. Ed said in 20+ years he's never seen this unique issue and wanted to work on it till he found it. Who does that anymore?!? And (most important) he didn't say that just to rack up shop hours. He stuck to the original quote. They're prices are reasonable. They stick to them- no sticker shock at pick-up time. They are honest about scheduling. They don't make promises then throw your bike on the backburner (like Harley) Appointments are easy to get, often even short notice, and turnaround is FAST. Seriously, don't ever go here. I was recommended by a friend to get my bike repaired here, they kept it for about 6 weeks, constantly telling me "Its almost done, its almost done"... After constantly having to call them, instead of them calling me, I just show up to find out that they bike hasn't even been started!! Needless to say, I took my keys and left with my damaged, untouched bike. The only positive thing is that they were nice, that's it. So they nicely LIED to me. I cant say they did shitty work, because they never did work. I can say that they are really lacking in ethics. I dont recommend this place. read more

Took my bike to HB Hogs and Choppers based on a recommendation from a good friend and business associate; I'll be thanking him for this. Ed and his crew are spot on with their Harley knowledge, expertise and service. Their shop is clean and organized and they're really cool people to work with. I have a very custom Street Glide that I had another shop do most of the work on. Terrible experience over there and I'm still paying for it now fixing things they half assed. My first go round with Ed took care of a bunch of little things that were driving me crazy and a couple bigger ones. As soon as I left the shop my bike rode better than it did when it was stock. The service quality is fantastic! The speed that these guys complete jobs is amazing, and it's the little things like giving you a ride back when you drop your bike off, offering to deliver it and working with me on prices that I found cheaper online for some parts. I brought my bike to Ed, 3 years ago. I needed front suspension, new tail light, stater/rotor and a oil change. On 3 separate occasions I had to called Ed and see if my bike was ready. After a month Ed said, we're barely looking at your bike. 2more months, later Ed says, we just got your bike on the rack. I waited 6 months to get my bike back and spent $3000, only to have my fork seals leak the very next day, have battery charging issues, because the rotor came loose and find out that they never did the tail light, because the light they thought would fit, didn't and never bothered to tell me. Hard to find a honest shop. Sometimes you just gotta learn to do it yourself. Not hard, if you have the Harley manual and you tube. read more

I was recommended by a friend to get my bike repaired here, they kept it for about 6weeks, off and on, constantly telling me "Its almost done, its almost done"... After constantly having to call them, instead of them calling me. So it all started when I took my bike in to have it looked at to have it dyno tested and the transmission was slipping. Ed tells me their is a ticking noise in the engine. I drive down and I hear a slight ticking noise. Ed asked to open the motor up to find the cause. 3 days later he tells me to come down to see the wear and tear on the cams and push rods. He also stated it had a big bore kit 106, that was piece milled together. I did buy this bike from a second hand party. This was unknown to me. He Offered to put 2012 103 heads and pistons, with reaper cams. Sounds good to me. All said and done transmission no longer slips. ??? weird... Now he tells me bike is ready. He will put on dyno and for me to come down and pick up my bike. Well, when I got their, the bike was still on the dyno. Ed tells me something wrong with his computer, a virus. So I take my bike back, which now has no power in the low end. I had to call him to see if he had his computer issues solved. He did, nice of him to call me to get my bike up and running. Long story short. I've must have spent countless hours in his waiting room for the dyno. Ed tells me the dyno is not taking on my bike and that he needs to take it to HD to have the computer remapped. I said okay and then when he got the bike back I would need a new throttle body. WHAT!!! what the hell is going on here... Ed tells me that I can call around to find one. Isn't that the repair shops job???! I did find one, from screaming eagle. $685 dollars later. oh, Ed did pick up the shipping, yah that was nice. :-( so, thousands of dollars later. Ed calls me, bike is ready. I grabbed my keys and told Ed i'll never be back, terrible service. When I road my bike home, guess what? it now backfires on deceleration. So I took it to a different mechanic, a manifold leak...!!! Yah, good job Ed, strong work. I'm letting everyone I know of the crappy work and service HB Hogs and Choppers do. Oh and I asked Ed to take the center stand off. He didn't do it. He stated he forgot about it. But he will take it off now, thats when I picked up for the last time. DON'T GET SUCKERED IN.... PASS THIS SHOP UP..!!! read more

This place is a RIP OFF!!! charged me 90$ to change only rear tire on my 2006 r6. There are like 3 other shops that would do it for half that even found a shop on Warner and Gothard that will do both tires for less than that price. I should have done more research before taking it there. read more

Got my 2014 harley street glide dynoed by Ed two weeks ago and what a difference! I currently have Vance and Hines headers with CFR slip ons, I was always told they would be really hard to tune but Ed made short work of it! Well, I had a TTS Mastertune on my bike and decided to load it in my truck and drive it over here to get it tuned. I was told that it would take about 4hrs or so, when I came back, apparently the pushrods had loosen up and I was charged an extra 100$ for them to fix. Finally, an hour later my bike was ready to be picked up, when riding for the first time after being tuned, I noticed it felt different, but being stupid and only riding around the block, I thought it was ok. While waiting to get a hand for loading it in the truck, one of the employees who rode it was telling me that my suspension needed work, along with other needed work that I actually didn't need which was starting to make me rethink about ever coming back. Anyways, after getting home and unloading the bike, I finally rode it on a long distance ride and started noticing that it still smoked here and there, along with a couple of backfires. This is the second person (other than those at Performance Choppers in San Diego) who has tuned my bike and it didn't run right at all. Later on I had the TTS removed from my ecm and stuck a V/H FP3....my trouble had all gone away. I don't know much of the quality of work they do for repairs and preventive maintenance for their other customers, but I know I won't go back for tuning. If you have a tts or screamineagle tuner, toss it in the garbage and look at your other options. They were designed when efi and Harley teamed up, and better options have been made since early 2000's. read more
